This evening, the Lakers take on the Houston Rockets. Schroeder, he hit a couple of shots late after starting the last game cold also. Dab right out of the chute. I'm back, he says. And now to Shendun. He's underneath. There's that little move and the score with the hook shot. And there's a little move to the left and come back to his right. Schroeder, mid-range. Now the Lakers have lost three in a row. Here is LeBron. I don't even believe it. I don't believe it in the same sentence with you. Now Green works his way, embodies his way around and they kept Schroeder at bay and he scores. Mistake by Troy Brown Jr. Now Pat Babb has hit two threes. Here's the train down the track. Score at LeBron who passed 38,000 last night. Troy Brown Jr. lets fly. He's got it. He hit a couple of more threes yesterday. Here's the turn by Shendun. Pound it and one. So what a start for Shendun. Lakers shooting 54%. LeBron just glides in, forces his way in for the layup. Gordon goes all the way to the rim. So Gordon, who of course played many years in Los Angeles for the other side of town. Underneath Gabriel with the left hand. Ross all the way. The finger roll is good. Here is Ross with the left hand. And as you talk all the time, he loves to finish with that left hand followed in by Green. There's something that he's doing. We see the obvious two, the opposite rebound, the effort, et cetera. How about that? Another block. Right on cue. Thank you, Mike. And there it is by Troy Brown. It's a good bounce pass in the layup and the lay in. Give credit on that bounce to Gordon. Quickly, Troy Brown Jr. That's a good spot for him. Real good spot for him. Player ahead of the pack. And you see how he... That was Martin Jr. And then he's going to... No, he's going to block it at the other end. That was not a goaltend. And then the follow is good. Watch out. Here goes none to LeBron. He can't score, but he tips it in. Russ, right at the free throw line for two. Gordon, a lot of time of possession in this game. Bounce. Shengun got two in the air, and he puts it up, and it had to shoot. Otherwise, it's going to be three in the key. LeBron for three. Got it. Good to see. Kmart Jr. It's a three. Westbrook double team. So who's open? Oh, that's a block with a goaltend. Oh, wow. That was goaltending? Shengun puts it up and in. Again, not a high flyer by any stretch. Shengun's going to try a three. Got to get an incredible bounce. And he does. That's more than the Don Nelson bounce. Now Shengun, he splits the defense. Oh, look at this pass behind him, and Tate scores. And it's a three-point game. You cannot get complacent. The miss dunked by Bryant. Defense. Oh, JTA goes all the way to score. The five-game homestand. Lakers will have two more five-game homestands this season. Matthews for three. Here is Kmart going all the way in and scoring. Martin Jr., four to shoot. Lakers up against it. That Bev wanted to get a whistle. Instead, it's JTA. Buzzer. Green, the bounce and the throw down. Nice play. Two-man game. Martin didn't miss that dunk, did he? No, he didn't. There's the back pass to Beverly for three. LeBron gets the assist. Ward gets it, and he's running. Here comes LeBron. Look at Shengun. All the way, LeBron. Shengun is saying, we want to challenge that. We want to challenge it. LeBron, here he goes. That 18-and-a-half for LeBron James. Here is Shengun, and he throws it in with the left hand. Lakers season-high first half points with 73. LeBron hits the mid-range. There's LeBron with that drive to the paint and step back. Here's Jabari over to Shengun. Count it. Bari Smith, a career-high 27 at Sacramento. Now Shengun says, Stu, I heard you. Shengun, look at this pass. Look at this pass. LeBron will try a three. Yes, sir. LeBron James. Here's LeBron. Got it. Perfect from outside. Shengun. What a night. A career night. How about a real nice pass from LeBron under to Russell Westbrook. Schreuder. Underneath. Oh, there it is. He saw him finally. Lennon right up and score. Count it. Dennis saying, my bad. Gordon drew some contact. Well, he has always been good at that. Gabriel. Block taken. And a chance for the break. There's a three on two. Martin all the way. And he throws that one down. He doesn't miss it. Five minutes to play. Third quarter. Bounce to Wenyan. A bounce to Kendrick. None. You see that pass by Wenyan. That's around the defender. Shengun in the key. And again, they're giving it to Martin. LeBron, here he goes. He saw a little bit of a lane. Attacks Shengun and throws it in. They need him to score on a consistent basis to be competitive. Here's Russ, the former Rocket, albeit not for a whole lot of games. Here's another three. Launched over the zone and they score. Green looking for more. Launches. Got it. All of a sudden, they're getting warm from three. None. Comes around the pick from Gabriel. Boy, that was well done. I think Green's going to take another shot. Yeah, he's going to take another shot. Got it too. Yeah, and he's feeling it now. Here comes Deshaun Tate. All the way. Score it. Ooh, that was a good backhand layup. Christopher hands off to Green and he's feeling it. He's really feeling it. A two-point game. Russ off the window to end that run momentarily. Big shot. Russ all the way. Saw some daylight and took it to the rim. James in rhythm. Yes, sir! Ultimate heat check. Here he is again. Leans in off the window. LeBron is doing his thing. And none. Part of the supporting cast. Green down the middle. Garuba underneath. A pretty good passing by Houston. It is. It's hitting. Matthew's trying to guard on nine. He's underneath. Oh, he shields his body from the defender and scores with the offhand. Bounce over to Matthews. His three is good. That's not an easy three. That's what I call a break rhythm of three. Good bounce pass. And Green under a little bit of duress. It's been a much, much better second half. Capped up. Once. Twice. Matthews. Third time again. Exactly halfway through. Shangoon looks to attack. Oh, it's going to count. That's going to count. Bryant with Shangoon. And he dissolves. Shangoon brought it right back at him. Houston in the attacking zone. Martin, you know he wants to dunk it. That's all he's thinking. Timeout, Lakers. They need it. LeBron goes. Big shot. LeBron in. Houston has six to shoot. That's a set shot for three. And a rainbow down. He's lost 10 in a row. And 15 to 16. But Rush with a mid-range magic. Hand off to Schreuder. Schreuder with speed. Count. Three. Got it. What a shot. Here is LeBron at the elbow. Again, a mid-range shot for the Lakers. Now Rush to Descano Anderson. They finally took advantage. Short. But they're going to get a rebound. And Smith puts it in. Here's Houston. The spin. The score. Two-point game. Houston throws it away. Here comes Gordon. He lays it in. Here's the window for two. And the Lakers end their little three-game losing streak. Nice win. Tough win against a team that has really been struggling. The worst team in the NBA record-wise. At this point, gotta get wins. Pile them up. You didn't think that it would occur.
