A week ago in Chicago, Zach Levine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nika Labuchevich all put together very
strong offensive performances with Zion Williamson and Brayden Ingram played exceptional fourth
quarter basketball.
The Pelicans took a win from the Bulls in Chicago.
The Bulls try to return the favor from the Big Easy in the Smoothie King Center tonight.
Levine.
Here's DeRozan.
Steps to his spot, rises and hits.
DeRozan coming off just 16 the other night against Denver.
Nobody really had a great performance against the Nuggets.
That's when you watch.
Dosubu.
Good crossover.
Gets by McCollum.
Buch.
They gave him space for three.
And he hits.
29.
Led by Ingram and supplemented by Zion Williamson.
Here's Valanchunas for a three.
Williams.
No fire.
And hits.
Here's Murphy.
That's a deep three.
Oh my goodness.
Levine.
Quick step.
Past Jones.
Into Valanchunas.
Oh, nice move.
You can see how he's starting to get his legs back.
And Zach got all the way back on the defensive end as well.
McCollum, though, splashes another.
Ingram has not scored yet here in the first quarter.
He's taken one attempt.
There's his second.
And there is his first.
Take advantage of him.
DeRozan works in the post.
Green cuts.
Takes it in and floats it.
Loose ball to Dosumo.
What a play.
He should have got that ball.
That was a 50-50 ball advantage, New Orleans.
McCollum, that's a tough step back three.
Catch up with her tonight.
She's an awesome, awesome lady.
They go to the post in Vucevic against Dyson Daniels, the rookie.
Continue to say that.
It's a simple game.
The game doesn't change.
Size always matters.
Ingram.
That's the type of layup.
Caruso checking.
A couple of former Lakers.
Good pass to Nance inside, and he gets position.
Got the guys looking at the basketball.
Levine.
I tell you, you could just hit go.
A la Steve Nash.
Yeah, they thought they were going to throw it back to Larry Nance.
Nice job by Dragic to carry efficiently.
They are making Caruso work with McCollum.
That's the type of stuff they'd run when McCollum would be on the floor
without Damian Lillard.
Oh, yes.
Oh, watch your hand.
It's Graham.
No.
Still time for Dragic.
On the push.
Takes it all the way and scores.
Impact defensively he makes with his group.
Dragic to Caruso for a three.
Shunes gets it off.
It's short.
Bulls clear it.
Good pass by Caruso to Dragic to Levine.
You've got to see more of that.
Slip to Jones.
Good cut by Caruso.
Time to ace the up.
Oh, into the passing lane goes Herbert Jones.
Missed the layup, but Alvarado is there to put it back.
Get on crowd in the United States.
That felt very Mardi Gras appropriate, I feel like, down in New Orleans.
Dragic for Drummond.
Yes, sir.
Here is Valanchunas.
Drummond on the defense.
Oh, what a cut by Alvarado.
Daniels had to pick it up.
Rotation to Ingram.
Extra pass Daniels.
Another extra pass for a Jones three.
And a friendly bounce.
Oh, wow.
They had a mismatch.
Didn't see it.
Vucevic steps back behind the line for a three.
Here he gives the Bulls the lead again.
He's arguing with the Bulls.
That's a three-point shooter to be honest with you.
Jones.
Wow.
Lineup out there right now for New Orleans without Valanchunas.
Back cut Alvarado.
Into Williams and DeRozan and a foul.
Here's Ingram on the drive.
Cradling it.
Kicking it.
Murphy.
Yes.
Boy, that is unlimited range.
He's three and three for the three-point line.
All his shots have been three-pointers.
They've made nine now as the Bulls.
Ingram.
A pass inside looking for Jones who flipped it in.
Bulls' largest lead earlier in the spot.
Now it gets led by as many as eight in the first.
DeRozan.
Nance got underneath him a little bit.
DeRozan is telling that to Rodney Mott.
Oh, my goodness.
That's a G3 by Murphy.
Oh, goodness.
He's got eight right now on the Bulls' trail by five.
Levine whips it inside for Caruso.
Nice pass.
Accelerates.
Spins.
And had it swatted by Murphy.
Murphy all the way.
Goodness.
Jones.
Good adjustment defensively by Vucevic, but Jones got it back.
Ingram.
He'll fire a tray and knock it down.
Largest for New Orleans and a turnover.
Murphy to steal.
McCollum's wide open.
Four-three.
Eight on the clock.
McCollum.
Wheeling around Vucevic.
Kicking to Murphy.
Three-threes by McCollum, Ingram, and the latest by Murphy to
balloon the lead to its largest at 14.
DeRozan, a tough drive and finish.
Valachunas going to work against Vucevic.
And he gets that turnover.
He's already hit two.
Rebound Ingram.
One outlet.
Banks it in to shoot.
He hustled for that ball.
That was a good hustle by Jones.
Drogich to Caruso.
Tough three.
Halfway through the third.
Ingram.
Williams sticking right with him.
Forced to give it up for a Valachunas.
Oh, wow.
That was nice.
Murphy jams it back in on the ball.
Oh, nice pass.
Caruso to Green and a great adjustment.
Green.
Green spins on Daniels.
Good help side defense.
Drummond is able to lay it in.
Like they took it personally and internalized it.
Very sharp in the first half.
But right now, it is all Pelicans.
Caruso.
Here's the thing.
I also told you as Graham is going to fire from the same
spot and hit again.
At times as well.
That was a game they had Zion.
Let's see if the Bulls can make a similar rocket-like boost.
And Levine.
That'll help.
So the losing streak is the turnovers.
17 and a half over the last five games.
Oh, no.
Daniels.
Pelicans.
Six blocks for New Orleans tonight.
Valachunas.
Easy one.
Double on Valachunas.
Looks for Alvarado.
And he lays it in.
Runs it down.
Marshall.
He is a pest.
Rogich.
Oh, what a cut by Vujovic.
Everything.
But somehow the finish goes.
The column.
Tough shot.
Uses the glass.
The kick.
Marshall.
He is open.
And another Orleans three.
Levine.
A three.
Rattles one down.
Alvarado.
A floater.
Oh, I tell you.
11 points for Alvarado off the bench.
Levine.
Step back over Alvarado.
Running out of trouble.
Oh, my goodness.
I'll text you what I was gonna say.
I'm gonna text you what I was gonna say.
Let's see what I was going to say, Goff.
Yep, there's Levine.
There's Levine for three.
He got frustrated last night with the foul issues
and just not being involved.
DeRozan got it, and a foul.
You've got C.J. McCollum has played well.
And he's done the other thing.
And Valentino has played well.
Yep. Levine again.
A lot of young talent.
That's without Chet Holmgren who got hurt.
There's DeRozan who jams it down.
We couldn't wait to get out west.
You don't go out there and play.
It's a relaxing situation.
Find yourself.
Green in his second season.
Did a fabulous job last year.
And the Pelicans are nine and six.
Bulls fall to ninth by a final of 124 to 110.
