Amelia and JP VLOG 135: If you're wondering what it's like to live in Cuenca Ecuador, we share our typical gringo saturday with you in this video. It was a rainy, chilly day so we filmed Cloverfield style with my iPhone to protect my nice camera from the weather.

Hola unconventionals. It's another rainy cold cloudy winter august day
here in Cuenca but there are a couple of fairs we want to go check out.
So we're gonna go ahead down there but that means I'm going to be filming Cloverfield style
on my iphone so sorry for the camera shake.
Hola. Hi I'm Eden. Hi Amelia. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. I apologize for my cold hands.
You guys are warm. Yeah. Well you've been out here for a while. That's why your hands are cold.
Oh see we just got out of a taxi. Yeah. All right we're here at CDAP. We're gonna get our shopping
on. We're also getting to run into lots of people we know so we're having a good morning
and it's not raining. I'm really happy about that. All right let's go get our bread. Okay.
Hey I'm a big fan of these.
No. What are you? Delicious. Is it just like a topping? Yeah you put it on stuff. Oh interesting.
It looks good. It all looks delicious.
All right what's next? We got blueberries. We got our bread. Let's go visit Franco. Okay.
It's $6.50.
This is a butternut squash look from the farm from Franco Organico
and she is my client in Vilcabamba. She knows me. And you came all the way here to buy some?
No she came to see me from Vilcabamba. How much is the butternut squash? Sure we can have it.
Oh she beat us to it. She took our squash.
Let's get her.
I want fudge and peanut butter. And I want to get out of the rain. Yeah is that why you
keep stepping in front of the camera? Yes it is because it's raining. Okay would you like it back
okay. So it will be $6.70.
Anything else? No not today. This is good for me.
Okay.
Fudge? Yes. And anything else? Let's get some of the medium. No we want dark brown. Okay.
Would you like a bag? No we have plenty of bags. And did you want a squash?
Well there's one left. Yeah you want that one? Sure why not. All right we're getting a squash.
Okay that's a that's a present for you guys okay from me. You don't have to pay me okay.
Oh thank you. From my heart from my heart to you guys okay. And next time like I said you know give
ahead of time give me time so I can. Oh yeah. You guys can see my property okay. Yeah I would
love to see your place. That would be a pleasure for me. Oh we would love to come film that and
show people what an Ecuadorian farm looks like. Yeah that's awesome. That would be cool.
Okay this bag again starting to rip. All of our stuff. Our loot.
All right you ready to head out? Yep let's go on to the next one. Where is this one? That one
is. Oh look at that dog. Sorry dog cam. Oh look at that happy face.
Now where are we going? I think it's at Villa San Carlos. And where is that? It's off of Solano
over off oh I don't know what the street is. I know how to get there. Okay well vamonos. All right.
We have never walked down the street before. No. And it's right in our neighborhood. It is. It's
really nice. There's a really nice house for sale behind us if anyone's interested. Yeah look at
that. See I wonder if I can zoom in on that phone number. That's a nice looking place. It is. Been
newly renovated. It's quiet right here. Great location right next to Solano. Yeah but it's
in Parque de la Madre. It's off Solano. Yeah it's in between Solano and Parque de la Madre. It's
a nice location. All right onward to our next feria. The balloons mark the spot. Oh here. Wow
there's a sign. Yeah. Awesome. It's for uh entrepreneurs I believe. Oh it's an entrepreneurial
event. Bienvenidos. And business owners. We haven't been over here in quite a while. Yeah. It's a pretty
area. Crypto. Crypto team.
Wow this is big. It is. There's a stormtrooper.
Stormtrooper. Oh my gosh that's hilarious. These are pretty.
Oh yeah.
Sausages. Vegan sausage. Yeah they look good. And hamburgers.
What'd we get? We got garbanzo. I guess it's a kind of like loaf or burgers. And it's de-lish.
Are we leaving? Yep. Time to go. Lots of stuff in there. Yes. All right let's go home and eat some
of that delicious vegan food we bought. Sounds good. Ciao. We went home. We had a delicious
beet burger for lunch. It was delish. And some choclo. Choclo. Did our workouts. Now we're heading down to
meet with a couple of subscribers who are in town visiting. Yeah we're uh they're we have not met
them before. We're going to our favorite place Tatuamiskis. It should be a lot of fun. Yeah.
Good place to introduce them. Yes. Estamos aqui. We had a great time meeting our new friends Dave
and Nina. They both moved to Cuenca. And what's cool is that one is from Australia and one is
from Germany. I know. So two different continents. I know I love it. It's very diverse here. So now
we're going to go see some live blues music. Yes with Jerry Joe Holland. I'm very excited. Yeah I
love blues. At Common Grounds here in Gringolandia. I'm here with Jerry Joe Holland. We just uh
enjoyed listening to his amazing blues set. Oh my gosh you guys missed out because she did not come
and hang out with us tonight. So thank you so much Jerry. Yeah you're welcome. I love the blues. I
finally discovered my genre just about two years ago. Really? And yeah. Wow. I was a rock and roll
guy. Now it's just more blues with a rock feel. You're incredible. Yeah you're so talented. Tell
everybody. Thank you. Thank you. Bye bye. Oh my gosh that was so much fun. Jerry is so talented.
Yeah we are really impressed. He can really make that guitar sing. Yes JP said that to me several
times tonight. It's true. He has a lot of original music. We're going to feature him in a future video.
Yes. And we also enjoyed meeting Julio from New Jersey. Hey Julio. So that means we met people
from three different continents today on a fourth continent. I know. How awesome is that?
It's so crazy how diverse it is here. What a small world. It is. Now we're going to go home. It's late.
It's like 10 30. We're up way past our bedtime.
We're early to bed. Early to rise gringos. Yes we are. All right good night all. Good night.
