Machine Gun Kelly has been something of an enigma for most of his career.
For a long time he was known only by his stage name, and his given name of Colson Baker only
became more widespread over the past few years as he steadily picked up more and more acting
jobs.
Over time the world has come to know and understand Machine Gun Kelly a lot better.
With nearly the entire world locked under quarantine, he's let more of his personality
shine through with daily musical posts, while still finding a way to spend quality time
with his young daughter, and even maybe finding love.
So in this vid we're going to be going over some lesser known facts about the talented
musician that might leave you shocked.
Machine Gun Kelly is a musician and actor best known for his hit tracks like Bad Things,
Home, and Rap Devil, but as much as fans love his music, they're hooked his personal life
as well.
Lately rumors have been spreading across the internet like wildfire that MGK and Megan
Foxx have been hooking up after meeting on the set of their upcoming film Midnight in
the Switchgrass.
MGK added fuel to the fire by casting Megan in his latest music video, Bloody Valentine
that he filmed at his own apartment.
A song I'm currently obsessed with by the way.
Though the two have yet to confirm they're in a relationship, they're clearly having
a lot of fun with one another.
The buzz surrounding their romance has led to huge numbers for the track surpassing 12
million views on YouTube and setting the stage for MGK's forthcoming pop punk album, Tickets
to My Downfall.
But hey, what about the things we don't know?

10 Machine Gun Kelly Facts that you didn't already know, here for you on Famous Entertainment.

Now let's get into this video.
For number 10, MGK is dropping daily cover videos.
We'll start with something a little more recent just to set the table.
If you guys are bored and looking for entertainment as you work from home during this quarantine,
well, I've got some good news for you.
MGK has you covered.
Literally.
As he's been locked up in isolation like the rest of us, MGK has decided to pass on
some good vibes with daily entertainment.
He's covered everything from Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit to Juice WRLD's
Lucid Dreams, which you saw above.
More recently, he's even taken to covering his favorite movie scenes.
Coming in at number 9, MGK actually has something of a complicated relationship with his parents.
Both of his parents were missionaries.
He was originally born in Houston, but his parents proceeded to travel the globe as Christian
missionaries after his birth.
He traveled all around the globe, from Germany to Egypt, and according to Kelly himself,
he actually learned to speak Arabic before he learned English.
But life wasn't easy for him and his parents split when he was still quite young.
His mother deserted him and left him with his father who suffered from mental illness.
When they returned to the states, they found themselves living in poverty and while Kelly
would reconnect with his mother later in life, she was a target of his rap early on in his
music.
He told NY Post in an interview that many of his problems stem from being abandoned
by his mother, saying,
There's few memories of her to even burn in the first place cause she left when I was
so young.
But the ones that are there, I've numbed those parts of me.
Since I haven't seen you as my mom since I was 9 years old, and here I am at 25 like
finally confronting it all and so, um, yeah the feeling before I opened that door, or
before I, I mean I've seen her maybe twice since then, it's just like, it's, it's crazy.
It's a lot emotionally for me because she looks so much like me too, you know what I'm
saying?
Moving on to number 8, he's a huge fan of the WWE.
Becoming famous offered MGK the opportunities to take part in one of his biggest fandoms,
professional wrestling.
He's appeared multiple times on WWE, both performing his music and in the ring.
He's said in the past that if he were ever to become a professional wrestler full time,
his alias would be The Professor and his finishing move would be to sit on his opponent after
knocking him out, pulling out a book and reading it while pinning his opponent for the 3 count.
In terms of lucky number 7, he's a bad neighbor, and if you thought that being MGK's neighbor
might be a little difficult, well it turns out you're right.
MGK has entered into a friendly rivalry with his celebrity neighbor Jeff Lewis due to MGK's
party hard lifestyle.
I've learned a lot about him, at 5pm, that to them, 5.30 is day drinking.
They just woke up.
He had a big cake in the shape of a guitar, right?
And you could see your house in the background.
They still park in front of the fire hydrant.
They park in front of the fire hydrant, they park in front of other people's driveways.
It's just like, I think they're so fucked up that they just, just stop the car wherever
it lands.
Don't worry though, things seem to be all in good fun.
Jeff even accepted MGK's offering of peace.
Next up is number 6, and if you were to show a picture of Machine Gun Kelly to one of your
grandparents, odds are they'll recognize the name, but not the face.
That's because in their generation, ok let's be honest, it's probably more like a lot
of your great grandparents generations, Machine Gun Kelly was in the moniker for an infamous
gangster.
The OG Machine Gun Kelly, George Kelly Barnes, was from Memphis, Tennessee and most famous
for kidnapping an oil tycoon in 1933 for the then-sizeable ransom of $200,000.
For those of you wondering, that's about 4 million dollars today.
As his name gives away, Kelly's weapon of choice was the Thompson Machine Gun, which
offered rapid fire, a trait MGK mimics with the quick delivery of his lyrics.
For number 5 on our list, MGK considered himself a man of the people when he worked at fast
food restaurant Chipotle, never skimping on the burrito fillings for his clientele.
He's also gone on record saying that whenever he hears the song Mrs. Officer by Lil Wayne,
he gets flashbacks to his old gig.
That's because it was the only song their radio in the back was allowed to play, and
for those of you wondering, here's a bonus fact.
MGK's very first job was as a cart boy at Dave's Markets in Cleveland.
The number 4 fact you probably didn't know, before he found himself in a relationship
with Amber Rose, MGK was with his ex Emma Cannon, with whom he had his daughter Casey
Coulson Baker.
Even during the tough times of social distancing, MGK has been seen around LA taking his daughter
and her friend out for a family jog.
He told Daily Mail,
There's this beautiful privilege that you have as a parent where you can just stare
at your little mini you and daydream about all these moments that are going to happen
in their life.
But when I'm away from her, you can get lost, and in those moments when you're lost,
the first thing that pops in your head is those daydreams and you're like, oh my god,
I need to find my way home so I can have these moments.
And it looks like MGK is making it a priority to do just that.
Nearing the end of our list, coming in at number 3 is his beef with Eminem.
Every time it seems like the beef between Eminem and MGK is dying back down, it starts
all up again.
MGK lit a fire with some inappropriate comments about Eminem's daughter that set Slim Shady
off.
Eminem banned MGK from his radio station Shade 45, which led to both artists releasing diss
tracks against one another.
MGK fired off Rap Devil and Eminem responded with Kill Shot.
A couple years went by, and then Machine Gun Kelly released the new track, Bullets With
Names, with the following lyrics
Look, I got a bullet with somebody's name on it, get up on em, I don't need no aim
on it.
Killed me a goat so my jacket got stains on it, wipe in my nose like I got some cocaine
on it.
Pulled out his coffin and ate me a plate on it.
The goat reference is a clear jab at Shady, but since releasing the track, MGK has actually
gone on record saying he wouldn't mind collaborating with a song on Eminem one of these days,
so we'll see where this feud goes from there.
Number 2 happened on the set of the sci-fi film VIRAL that he filmed in Chicago, where
one scene required MGK to get punched repeatedly in the chest by an actor portraying a cop.
But instead of doing his job and acting, this guy decided to punch MGK for real.
Repeatedly.
As Coulson Baker, I took that loss on the chin, but like dude, Machine Gun Kelly probably
would've whipped his ******* ass.
Despite complaining to the producers of the film, he was told to suck it up.
Then while performing on stage for a private gig only hours after filming the scene, his
chest started to feel like it was on fire.
He paused the show and a medical team started running some tests to check if he was having
a heart attack.
Everyone thought he was high on drugs, but in fact, all those punches on the movie set
had fractured his chest plate.
Yikes.
Finally, the number one fact you didn't know about MGK is that he's best friends
with Pete Davidson.
The two bonded while on set for the film Big Time Adolescence, commiserating over the public
drama they both went through during messy breakups with prolific partners, Ariana Grande
for Davidson and singer Halsey for MGK.
At the time, the two felt like some of the most hated people on earth, and after Davidson
gifted MGK with a Rolex to symbolize their friendship, MGK knew he had found someone
special in his life.
He told New York Times,
You ever meet somebody and you're like we were separated at birth?
It was one of those things.
I probably credit some of how tight we became to how much weed we both smoke.
So as I'm leaving, Pete calls me up like, hey, meet me in the trailer.
Met him in his trailer.
He's like, dude, like, let's meet up as soon as I'm done filming.
I got a bag of mushrooms.
This will be great.
And I was like, oh, well, I'll just take a mushroom or two.
And by the time you get off work, you join me, whatever.
Bam.
So take a couple and I go to the mall because I have the day off.
So I go to the mall and they start to kick in when I'm walking around and I see a comic
store.
I love comics.
I love graphic novels.
I go inside this comic store and there is a shiny Batman light, like the full projecting.
Oh my God, there's a crime.
We need Batman light.
Besides tripping on mushrooms together, the two have even hung out with Dave Chappelle
and recently took a road trip with MGK's daughter from Cleveland to NYC for Christmas.
Sounds like the very best of friends to me.
So there you have it, the top 10 facts you didn't already know about Machine Gun Kelly.
And for those of you who stuck around from the beginning of the video, I'm going to let
you in on a little secret.
The first concert MGK ever attended was for the Backstreet Boys.
He said that the girls were screaming so loud that he threw up, which is so funny.
It's gotta be true.
Whether he's spending quality time with his daughter, playing around with his neighbours,
or meeting new friends, it's pretty clear that MGK is a lot like the rest of us in many
different ways.
But I want to hear from you guys.
