The massage was great. They had, like, Discovery Channel on.
It was just one-of-a-lifetime experience.
Good morning. So before we leave, I want to show you that I did, in fact, get chocolate milk from 7-Eleven.
This is my seventh in three days.
They're 50 cents and they're amazing.
Tastes like Nesquik, though.
Also, before we leave, I want to show you this backsplash because it's beautiful
and that this door has the ability to lock from the inside and out.
So she can lock me in here and I can lock her out there,
which makes absolutely no sense.
Only took three days.
We're in another world. We just left our hotel and we are at...
Museum Mall, I think?
Yeah. Like, super modern. All these trendy people walking around.
Really nice.
Yeah.
We're here to get our pictures taken because we have a lot of pizza.
Okay, so...
We just went to the mall.
We just bought tickets to the airport. What did they give us?
They gave us little chips.
Oh.
It's not a ticket. It's like little chips.
Vietjet for the first time.
And we got here, like, short in time yet.
But the line was faulty, so...
That's the other thing.
Vietjet actually has 11 flights that leave from Bangkok every day.
And they're all cheaper than the next flight, which is 42 minutes to Thai Air.
So I'm debating whether we should've gone with Thai Air because it was cheaper
and maybe we got better customer service.
We're on the plane. I don't really know the amenities yet, but...
So that's what you're looking for.
We did it!
We did it by three!
We evened each other out!
Yeah! So it didn't cost extra.
So if you are traveling, I would definitely recommend getting a priority pass,
which is achieved through which credit card?
Chase.
Chase...
Sapphire Reserve.
Chase Sapphire Reserve.
So definitely look into that.
It's like $150 a year, but the amount of lounge access that you get is...
This is ridiculous.
We have wonton soup.
We have curry.
We got Thai tea.
We have dumplings.
We have pork buns.
We have coffee.
Latte.
Shrimp.
Desserts.
I don't even know what this is.
We gotta figure it out.
Dumas?
Looks like it.
Can't be them.
So definitely look into that priority pass.
This is the best lounge we've been to so far.
By far.
By. Far.
I feel so much better.
That is just like...
I don't know.
I was told to take the train.
I was excited to take the train.
I was gonna see the wilderness.
But it was 11 hours.
This flight is only an hour.
And we just got to do all that.
So much food.
My belly is so happy.
The massage was great.
They had Discovery Channel on.
It was just one of a lifetime experiences.
Just kidding.
It was really fun though.
And it was really relaxing.
I really do feel so much better.
I have watched so many people say the lounge is so worth it.
And it's definitely something you should do.
And I didn't believe them honestly.
Yeah.
We thought it was kind of overrated.
But no.
But it is.
It's rated.
It's something you should totally do.
It's underrated.
You should do it.
Oh my gosh.
Boarding complete.
I will say they are very punctual.
Very fast.
And they don't let you hold a pen.
No.
They're getting there on time.
Welcome to Chiang Mai.
I am so excited to explore this city.
One of the original backpackers' paradises.
And one of the major stops on the Location Indy Tour.
Now we found a taxi.
Headed to our hotel.
It's only like 15 minutes away.
I don't know how it's so close.
Checking out the bar.
No shoes.
All about the respect.
So we got to where we're staying.
And it's really like a bar.
It's a bar.
And we walk in and they're like hey.
Because we have a bunch of luggage.
So they realized that we're staying there.
And we made a deposit at the bar.
And we did everything.
They got our passports.
We made a deposit.
All the good stuff.
Came upstairs.
There's no shoes allowed.
Because it's.
I mean that's a traditional thing here in Thailand.
Is not to wear your shoes indoors.
We took our shoes off.
Where are your shoes?
My shoes are downstairs.
Okay.
And now we're here.
So we're just staying above a bar.
And it's like $15 a night.
And the bathroom's down the hall.
And we have a.
Oh no it's not.
No the bathroom's right there.
Is the shower here?
Yeah.
Well never mind.
So we just got settled into Chiang Mai.
And I realized that a lot of people don't know what Chiang Mai is all about.
So it's a smaller city in northern Thailand.
We're not that far from Laos and Myanmar.
And it's right next to a little mountain side.
I guess you'd call it.
Rolling Hills are right next to it.
So a lot of people go up and take a day trip on a moped into the mountains.
And there's a lot of smaller villages up there.
But this is a bigger destination for what I like to call expats.
So I know a lot of you don't know the definition of an expatriate.
So here's the definition.
An expatriate is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country other than their native
country.
In common usage, the term often refers to professionals, skilled workers, or artists
taking positions outside their home country either independently or sent abroad by their
employer.
So this happens a lot and you hear about it with like South America or different countries
in Europe.
And it's not your actual country.
But people come to Thailand to save money.
So if you can work remote for your own country or your own company in your own country and
then you come to Thailand and you don't have to pay taxes in that country.
You can pay Thai taxes or do what they like to call border runs where you stay here for
30 days and then go to the border and come back.
You can save a lot of money by doing that.
But anyways, long story short, Chiang Mai is like the epicenter of the backpacker or
digital nomad scene.
So what that is talking about is like young professionals and millennials who are like,
Oh, I want to go and explore, but I want to do it on the super cheap.
Maybe run a website or run a small business from here and then have it work in their home
country.
So I'm really excited because we're in Chiang Mai and like that's where all this stuff is
happening.
And it's like so small.
It's crazy.
I was actually looking and if we were to walk from the airport to the city center, it only
take 50 five zero minutes.
I mean, that sounds like a lot, but compared to like the airport in Bangkok or other major
cities, like that is so small.
Everyone has the same state of mind and they just all come here and converse and it's just
like so relaxing.
And I'm so excited to be here because I've heard about the city so many times and podcasts
on YouTube.
Just like I'm so ready to explore the city.
Birthday style.
So if you are traveling, I would definitely recommend getting priority pass, which is
achieved through which credit card?
Chase.
Sapphire Reserve.
I'm holding out.
