It seems like an artist the world can't get enough of right now is Doja Cat. Honestly, it's like she became famous overnight, and that's not far off from how it happened. Doja Cat likes to keep a lot of her personal life on the down low, but you might be surprised about how much you can learn about a person from their social media posts. If you haven't guessed yet, in this video we're going to look at 10 crazy things we found on Doja Cat's Instagram. Amalaratna Zandil-Dlamini, who we all know as Doja Cat, is a singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer. Her dad is a South African actor while her mother is Jewish American, and Doja was born and raised in none other than LA. It was basically written in the stars that Doja Cat would become a musician considering she came from an artistic family. Not only was dad an actor, composer and more, her mom was a painter and so was her grandma. Her brother also rapped to her which inspired her to do the same. Although Doja's debut album dropped in Spring 2018, it wasn't till her song Moo came out of the same summer that she went viral. The song has pretty absurd lyrics where she fantasizes about being a cow, but it was made with the intention of doubling as a meme, and clearly everyone loved it. I'm sure you guys know all about her rise to fame though, but I guarantee there are some things about Doja you don't know. At the time of this recording she's 24 years old and it looks like she had her Instagram for almost a decade, and she hasn't always had over 5 million followers like she does now. Over the years Doja has posted a lot of content, almost way too much to scroll through. It's obvious that she loves showing off her curves and wearing sexy outfits on and off stage so even I wondered if she had any work done or enhancements. Looking at this pic back from 2018, Doja Cat looks hot and confident as usual, but it's clear that she didn't need plastic surgery to get the body she has today. Next up, the number 9 crazy thing we found on Doja Cat's IG is that she leaves her Christmas tree up until February. Seeing this post you can tell the girl is still humble and doesn't care what others think. She felt like posting a video dancing in a mirror so it's exactly what she did. Not only did she not care that her place wasn't super tidy, she also still had her small Christmas tree up. And this was posted at the end of February. But hey, she was probably busier than most so I think she gets a pass. The number 8 thing we found on Doja Cat's Instagram is another clip of her showing her humble and veal side. On March 30th she posted a video of her drunk and eating a sandwich, which seems like a normal thing to do, especially in this quarantine. Doja captioned it. I'm eating this sandwich while hammered, wearing Fashion Nova and my friend made a vegetarian sandwich from Subway so that's cool baby. Honestly I love a good Subway sub and now she's got me craving one. On top of Doja's realness and enjoying her sandwich, we also found out from the IG post that she wears Fashion Nova. Another thing I also do. Just in case you thought the vegetarian sub from the last post was Doja's, think again. Because the number 7 thing I found out about her from her insta is that she's never going vegan. Doja likes to post her meals from time to time and does eat a lot of healthy stuff like fruits and salad from the looks of it. However, in 2016 she posted this meal that did look vegan but captioned it I'm never going effin vegan. Not to mention if you get to Doja Cat's REALLY old posts, you can see that she does in fact eat plenty of meat. Like this turkey. Next up, the number 6 thing on Doja Cat's page is that she's clearly killing it on TikTok. First off, we know her song Say So went completely viral on the app when it was used as a dance challenge. I mean there were over 19 million videos made with the song. Doja even included the girl who started the dance, Yodeling Hailey, in her official music video for some recognition. But looking at Doja's recent posts on Instagram we can see she has her own TikToks going on. She already has 2.9 million followers over there and millions of views too. I mean she does some weird stuff but we already knew that about her. Halfway down our list and the number 5 thing we found out from Doja Cat's IG is her type of man. Well not completely but a few weeks back she did share this video of a challenge she did for Cosmo Magazine where she had to paint a naked dude. And she referred to him as a fine tall glass of naked man. So that's gotta mean she at least thinks this muscular dude is hot. I just caught him flexing his pecs in that video a bit much for me. Anyways, that made me wonder if Doja Cat is dating anyone currently but apparently she's single. Up until February of this year though she was dating indie musician Johnny Utah and confirmed their split in an IG live video that month. Doja said, everything is ok, I unfold my ex-boyfriend and everything is ok. We have been cool, nothing weird going on, no drama or weird shit going on, shit didn't work out. Next up, the number 4 thing we found out from Doja Cat's Instagram is that the girl has a great wig collection. I think most of us ladies can agree though that right now, salons not being open and not being able to get her hair imbutated is a real damn struggle. I'm this close to buying a bunch of wigs. Anyways, creeping Doja's IG we can see that she's had so many great hairstyles and wigs from long natural looking dark hair, to long blonde, pink, red, even two tone styles. And somehow she pulls them all off. I like the natural dark hair look on her best, and this orangey pink one. What about you guys? Moving on, the number 3 thing I found from Doja's Instagram is that she has a sense of humor and likes to laugh at herself. But I think we already knew that. From the time she posted herself in the old filter that looked too real it was creepy, and all her other silly posts and selfies, she's definitely entertaining to say the least. And that old filter is pretty accurate, I mean when I did mine and Michael's pic way back when I got pretty scared. Who wore it better, me or him? Anyways, Doja's first single was Moose, so I guess her sense of humor was a pretty obvious point. It does make her more likeable though. Now for the number 2 thing we found out on Doja Cat's Instagram is that she's been on the platform for a really long time. Her earliest post is from 2012, and it's a pic of her desk with some papers and jewelry with the caption INSPIRATION. Remember using those hearts back then? We didn't even have emojis. Well she would've been about 16 if she was on Instagram that long ago. I think my math is right. And here's one of her oldest selfies. Damn, a lot has changed since 2012, that's for sure. Finally, we've made it to number 1 on our list, and the craziest thing I've found on Doja Cat's Instagram has gotta be that she smokes. No, not just weed, cigarettes too, which I didn't know. It's already pretty obvious Doja liked to smoke weed, and she even explained that she got her stage name from one of her cats and her favourite strain of marijuana. She said, I was heavily addicted to weed and weed culture so when I began rapping I thought of the word Doja and how it sounds like a girl's name. And she's shown off her joints more than once on Insta and admitted to being super high all the time while recording her 2018 album Omala. However, Doja said she quit smoking weed for the following album and said this helped her write more meaningful music, saying, When I stopped and did this album I've never been more concise and clear and level headed. People love me and hate me for it. Why doesn't she sound like she doesn't know what she's talking about anymore? I used to write stuff where it didn't matter. Now there are things I believe in that get me excited and piss me off. I'm actually reflecting on who I am as a person. I was even more shocked to see that Doja is a cigarette smoker. Honestly, I feel like most people who smoke cigs nowadays tend to hide it but in her early days she was all about it. Like these posts. I wonder if she's kicked that habit, do you guys know?
