Glen Gorm is a unique place. If you come and visit, it's immediately apparent why it's
special. It doesn't take very long for it to seep into your heart. The countryside is
just spectacular. Glen Gorm is different to a lot of highland estates in that we live
here year-round, so it adds a real feeling when you come here. Anyone can come and stay
at Glen Gorm. We have bed and breakfast in the castle itself, and then we also have self-catering
cottages across the estate. There's more and more people coming to walk and so on, and
they need somewhere as a base to have lunch or come back and have a scone after a long
walk. So we converted the old stables into the coffee shop, and it's now become a really
vibrant hub for all the guests that come and stay at Glen Gorm to use. On Glen Gorm, you
can see every aspect of Miles Wildlife within our own boundaries, so we decided to set up
the Wildlife Project. The Wildlife Project is an initiative to introduce people to our
natural history, not only for guests and residents here, but also for people coming
through for the day. So if you come to Glen Gorm, potentially you can be seeing white-tailed
eagle, golden eagle, hen harrier, red deer, otters, during the summer, basking sharks,
bottlenose dolphin. It really is outstandingly beautiful. Glen Gorm is particularly good
for children, and growing up here was such a fantastic experience. A little boat out,
catch some mackerel. It's a real special way to spend a night as the sun goes down. Such
a fantastic experience that you just want to keep coming back to. Just beautiful.
