Rosemary tea is one of those things that you probably didn't even know you needed until now.
Today I'm going to show you two easy ways to make it at home
and why you might want to start drinking it more often.
Simply smelling rosemary may help to improve your concentration
and in a double blind randomized control study, rosemary extract was shown to potentially boost
memory, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve sleep quality in college students.
Rosemary also contains antimicrobial properties which may help to fight infections,
so this feels like the perfect drink when the weather cools down.
Now the simplest way to make this tea is to simply place a sprig of rosemary in your glass
and pour boiling water over the top.
This is called an herbal infusion.
You can let it steep for 5 minutes or up to 15 minutes for a stronger rosemary flavor.
Now if you're new to this, I recommend steeping it for the lower amount of time
just to make sure you like the taste.
Remove the rosemary sprig and your tea is ready to drink.
Now the second way to make this is to simply add two sprigs of rosemary to a saucepan
and then you're going to cover that with about 4 cups of water.
I usually use 1 sprig of rosemary and 2 cups of water for a single serving,
but I like to make a double batch so that I will have extra for later.
Let the rosemary and water simmer together for anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes,
then remove the rosemary and serve the warm tea right away.
Now you can serve this rosemary tea on its own,
or you can flavor it by adding a slice of lemon,
and if you want to add a little sweetness, you can also add a drizzle of honey,
or you can serve it over ice.
I like it over ice if you want it to be a little diluted in flavor.
I hope you'll enjoy this warm and comforting drink soon.
