about the torture, the imprisonment, the murder, really, of his mother. For many, many years,
I personally and my family, the Lantos family and the Lantos Foundation, have been engaged
with the Falun Gong community. And there, too, we see this remarkable response of dignity
and forbearance and a greater capacity to forgive than to forgive.
I feel I might be able to summon, as they face really unimaginable horrors, and I had
the duty and sad privilege of interviewing perhaps one of the only known, and his identity
is not shared publicly, survivors of a forced organ harvesting attempt who eventually escaped.
And it was a very chilling and very tragic and very profound experience to talk to this
individual who quietly and calmly shared with us over several hours, because we wanted to
capture his testimony and have it published.
