(Bundesliga 2022/2023): Highlights Bochum - Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim and Andre Breit and Reiter are currently on the longest winner's run of all Bundesliga teams. Eight games without a victory. They did win the reverse fixture 3-2 after trading 2-0 against Bochum, though, and the home side had won all four of their home fixtures under coach Thomas Leitch. Right from the off, Bochum are the dominant team. Christopher-André Adjei, the dominant figure. His perfect pass for Philipp Hofmann ended up in the first goal after 22 minutes. Hoffenheim had little to offer in a game that both needed to win to put relegation worries behind them. André Adjei, though, was the man who proved to be too much of a handful. Perfect pass for birthday boy Philipp Förster and it was 2-0. André Adjei was involved again with a gorgeous flick for Takuma Asano. It would turn out to be the third assist of the day. What a fabulous finish from the Japanese to make it 3-0 before half-time. Asano's first goal of the campaign. Breit and Reiter's TSG had not won a match since mid-October. They were well beaten at the break. But only three minutes after the restart, Hoffenheim pulled one back. And it was a gorgeous finish from Christoph Baumgart to take his talent to five. But just when the visitors had a phase of possession and shots, it was the home team that struck again. Erhan Masevic scored his first Bundesliga goal the previous week and his second in as many games for one. Hoffenheim subs André Krammerich and Muniz Dabur were involved in a second goal for them. The Israeli on the rebound to claim his fifth of the season. But in a game that looked to have only one winner, the final goal would be scored by Dortmund loanee Maurice Brzezinski. His Bundesliga debut and maiden Bundesliga goal to go with it. A 5-2 victory and the first time in 47 years that Bochum had won five in a row at home.
