I see a calmness about him and I think it's something that a lot of players don't understand.
There's a serious calmness about him which is extremely deadly because he's not up, he's not
down, he's not contemplating what just happened before or worrying about what's to come next.
He's just there.
Warriors, Lakers here tonight and starting lineups are being brought to you by McDonald's.
All right familiar faces except we're not going to see Jeremy Lin here tonight.
We thought he might slip into the starting lineup but that means Steve Nash is back in.
For the Warriors you've got Lee Bogut, Thompson, Curry and instead of Iguodala who broke his nose
by the way the other night but should play here this evening. He was wearing a mask for protection.
Harrison Barnes will step in. Here's Curry on its way and there's the first three of the night for
Golden State. They'll hit many more. In fact they were 12 of 21 from beyond the arc. You know we
talk about defense in a team game and so if you're going to have a team defense you have to make sure
you don't give up open jump shots. I can't help you on a jump shot. Curry will fire again the
quick trigger and it's two in a row for Steph and it's seven to two. Five point lead here in the
first minute and a half. Here's Kobe Bryant hooks it over to Carlos Buzia over the outstretched arm
of David Lee and the Warriors will run. Bogut showing some nice handles. Yeah gives it up to
Curry. Three in a row could be a four point play. He's got nine points could be ten in a matter of
moments as Steve Nash fouls him. What a start. He is such a dynamic shooter. I mean the form the
accuracy everything is just textbook. I mean that time contact by Nash in the act and nothing but
bottom so four point opportunity for Steph Curry. Think about this it was Klay Thompson who came out
firing the other night and now it's his backcourt mate Curry who does the same thing. Kobe in
trouble in traffic it's down low the scramble. Golden State with a ton of energy to start the
game comes up. Curry lob look out slam dunk and the Warriors are running and having fun
and the Lakers definitely need a timeout although they're not going to take one.
Boozer at the corner of the key not going to get there and Bogut mentioned in the last game they're
going to want him to contribute a little bit more offensively. That's what Steve Kerr wants to do.
And Curry just goes out and hits another jump shot. Kobe finds himself up at the top of the
key that one's short again. Warriors looking to push long lead for Lee. Oh reverse layup is good
as Curry found him on the breakout. Four points for David Lee and it's a 16 point Laker deficit.
We're not even halfway through the quarter. Oh behind the back to Johnson for Nash. Oh and he
missed it at the other end. That would have been a spectacular play. Kobe to Nash over the head to
Johnson and at the other end trying to answer back is a play Thompson missed. Curry lob to score.
Kobe Bryant with it bounces it to Sakre. Lakers now try to get into it with eight on the shot
clock and Bryant hits from the outside and the crowd eats it up. That's what they came to see
Kobe scoring and that's his first bucket. One for seven but answered back by Klay Thompson
and it's 31-11. Deep in the corner Klay Thompson rattles it home over Ellington. 59-30 is a 29
point deficit. Make it over 30 again. 61 to 30. 16 points for Curry. He and Thompson are the two
warriors in double figures. Curry open. Price hits the deck and that's a two-point basket. 63-30.
Lakers fumbled away. Johnson just couldn't handle it and it's a three on oh at the other end and
Curry's going to score it. Had Lee and Thompson with him so a fast break basket and Curry has
20 points. Loser from 18. That high rebound goes to Curry again the breakout and Lee scores.
They're just killing the Lakers running up and down the floor on the on the breakouts. Steve Nash
again if you're just rejoining us will not play here in the second half. Bryant away from Klay
Thompson. It's the jump shot. Lakers with the basketball in the attacking zone. Kobe. Loser
trying to move left. Pull up over David Lee. Carlos Loser for two. Bryant with the basketball
guarded by Thompson. Kobe says he's been very comfortable. First couple of games
whatever he's wanted to do and Loser who led the team in scoring last game
now has eight points in this one on a three for nine. Nobody's really lighting it up.
I mean Price is three for four. Other than that I don't think anybody's at 50 percent. Whoa!
From the other county and Kobe slaps him on the behind and gives him a smile and says that's good
shooting kid. Wow! I like the competitiveness with Steph. Yeah Kobe appreciates it too. Kobe all
over Steph. Steph said wait a minute here no take this. He just steps back and drains one. Kobe looks
at him says good shot young head. That is major respect right there for Bryant. I'll tell you what
Curry like I said right from the beginning Stu he has had so much energy and passion and emotion
tonight. That's good to see out of a player even in a pre-season game. Well if you put on the uniform
and like I said go get it pre-season or not you play the game. Yeah especially if you're playing
in front of a crowd where people have paid to see you. Well he now has 25 which matches Clay's
numbers on Thursday at Staples Center and Steph Curry most likely done for the night you would
saw them in the fourth quarter of the last game. Kobe uses the glass
leaned in keeping leaner for Kobe Bryant. Kobe going right Kobe trying to get to the basket
Zachary's going to take an 18-footer as Kobe went baseline to give him the assist. I mean
serious when the ball was thrown up to start the game they were close. It was actually tied at 2-2
See told you they were close. And it was a 12-0 run. And it was over from there. It was a 12-0 run
I remember and it was lights out. Now the Lakers let's see if they can collect the last bucket
there in the quarter and at the buzzer the Lakers fail to get their first one of the night and the
night is finally mercifully done. Mercifully huh? Tough one tonight.
