(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Arsenal - Brentford

After suffering only their second Premier League defeat of the season at Everton last Saturday, Arsenal return home to take on Brentford in a London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Brentford in their change strip for this one. How will the Premier League leaders, Arsenal, react to last Saturday's defeat at Everton? Towards Tony, it's a chance. Scrambling save by Ramsdale, he might have just got something on that. What a chance for Brentford. They find the space. Ivan Toni with a brilliant cross. You can see why, can't you? In the opening, what, 25 minutes nearly of this game. Toni. Bumo. Toni! He's rattled the crossbar. Another brilliant opportunity for Brentford. It's initially a poor header from Saliba trying to play out to party, but I cannot talk highly enough of this link-up of Toni and Mbuemo, and that's a real miss. Given that Arsenal were beaten last weekend, when do the doubts start to set in? Frustrated so far by Brentford. Toni stretching out and testing Ramsdale. It's an excellent stop by the Arsenal goalkeeper. It was a tripping effort, once more by Ivan Toni. What a guard. Now White. This is cleverly worked by Arsenal. Nearly first time. Arsenal work that so well. He's left foot. It's a tough chance. Not with your stronger foot. He strikes it really well. Partey. Xhaka. Xhaka! Royal had his near post covered. Well, it needs Martinelli and Xhaka. Bakayo Xhaka there. Toni. Janels. Now Bumo. Jensen. Stroke just wide by Toni. Another big chance for Brentford. Another big chance for their top scorer. Arsenal support at their loudest. What a guy. Now Xhaka. What a substitution from Mikel Arteta. And I've been talking all game about this ball not being successful. This pass inside has not been successful, but for the first time it is. And it's that man, Bakayo Xhaka, has the drive and the vision and the quality to find that cross. And let me tell you, that is not an easy finish for Leandro Trossard. The ball's bouncing high. There's plenty of pace on that. It would have been easy to miscue that. But such is the quality and the concentration on Trossard to see that ball ho. Visser and Odegaard on their toes. Chain towards Toni. Visser. Norgaard. Norgaard again. Brentford level. But it's all about the way they keep this alive. That there from Norgaard is absolutely brilliant. He holds on and surely Brentford will hold on for a point. But frustration again for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. Beaten at Everton, dropping two points.
