I can't believe this day has come.
Whoa!
Can I sit next to you?
You sit next to mommy?
Yeah.
Perfect.
You sit next to Lexa.
Oh, you want to sit?
Oh, with mommy?
Okay, you sit here.
Okay, is everybody ready?
Yeah.
Alright, so today we're doing something that we've talked about doing for years and years and years.
We have bought a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia.
And we're going to spend a good amount of time traveling around and making some memories.
And we don't yet know when we're going to come home.
Hopefully in time for school.
For me.
For you.
What grade are you going into?
Kindergarten.
Chloe, are you excited for our trip?
Yeah.
Yeah?
What about you, buddy?
Are you excited?
I'm going to try some bugs.
You're going to try some bugs?
That's a promise, I think.
Alexa just promised to try to eat some bugs while on our trip.
What kind of bugs are you going to eat?
Maybe some crickets?
So, I don't think we fully have thought this through, but we have...
That's your seat.
I'm sorry, buddy.
Come here, you want to sit with me?
We basically have...
I don't even know how many hours of travel ahead of us.
Probably 10,000.
About 10,000.
We have a four and a half hour flight to L.A. tonight.
About a 12 hour layover.
And then we're flying 12 hours to Tokyo.
In Tokyo we'll have a 17 hour layover before we head on to Manila.
So, we have not calculated that up yet in terms of travel before our first proper Airbnb.
But it's like two days.
So, we've been delayed a couple of hours, but these guys seem to be happy still.
They have been so excited to get on the plane.
They just can't wait to get on.
So, we finished our first leg.
We've got four and a half hours down.
We are going to sleep for a couple of hours and then tackle the next flight to Tokyo.
What are we going to do?
Beep, beep, beep, beep.
These guys are doing pretty good for being...
Was it 3.30 a.m. our time?
No, 4.30 a.m. our time.
So, 4.40.
We're going to grab some sleep and then hit the next plane ride tomorrow morning.
Can you say goodnight, Chloe?
Goodnight.
Good morning.
Are you ready to go?
Yeah.
Alright, so we have an 11 and a half hour flight.
We have one happy child and one not so happy child.
We will see how this goes.
How are you doing, Chloe?
So, we finished the Tokyo leg.
The girls did really good.
We didn't have a single meltdown the entire time.
We have about a 15 hour layover here and then another four hour flight to the Philippines tomorrow.
Don't touch it.
Actually, I think it's a security robot.
We're going to the airport.
We're on the bus going to the airport.
Where are we going today?
To the Philippines.
Yeah.
Do you remember what the city's called?
Manila.
You knew already.
Good job.
Can you tell me what she's saying?
You don't speak Japanese?
No.
That's a bummer.
Alright, so here's what we're carrying.
We have two roller bags.
The girls have two bags with their toys and books and activities for the flights.
And then, I'm the culprit.
I've got one big heavy bag of camera stuff and half of one of these bags is camera stuff too.
So, we're doing our best to travel light, but it's not easy for such a long trip.
What does your shirt say?
Strong girls make a strong world.
And point to where we are in the world.
Do you know?
It's actually not even on there.
It's not on there.
Alright, so we started this trip on a Monday.
It is now Thursday.
And we're still going strong.
And we're headed to our real destination, which is Manila.
And we're looking forward to get there.
We did it.
So, we just finished our two and a half day journey to Manila.
And we survived.
Everyone did extremely well.
Slept a lot.
Enjoyed the flight.
And now we get to check out Manila for the next day and a half.
See that?
Do it again.
Practicing.
Well, that was an adventure.
So, we got lost.
Walking with all of our luggage in the rain.
Well, our taxi driver dropped us off about a kilometer away.
And it started pouring torrential downpour.
So, Brady had all of the luggage.
Because I was making sure the girls were safe in the street.
Because Manila traffic is...
Manila traffic is insane.
So, her job was to make sure no one died.
And I had five bags to carry.
Because we have too much stuff.
Anyways.
Here's our room.
It's teeny tiny.
But they have bunk beds.
Alexa is excited about sleeping on the top bed.
And a little kitchen.
And our room.
Bathroom.
And that's it.
Literally fresh off of two days.
Two and a half days of travel.
And this is how happy they are.
You guys are the best.
Yeah.
Yep.
We're the best girls ever.
Let's give it to me.
