Hey everybody, welcome back to my YouTube channel.
If you didn't notice, I have with me my husband, Daniel.
Oh, introduce yourself.
Daniel.
After the plant swap video, where Daniel was at the end clips,
I had some requests to see him again.
And I got some pretty hilarious requests for videos.
So this is one of many.
But the first one, we...
Yes, there's going to be a few.
The first challenge that Daniel is going to be completing
is he's going to repot this plant for me with zero instructions from me.
Have you ever repotted a plant before?
I'm gonna go with a no.
Grab your pot.
It's a pretty simple, easy plant to repot.
That's why I picked this one.
Something intricate about it.
So we're just gonna go ahead and get started.
So this is your soil.
This is the pot it's going into.
Pot going into.
And it would be easier, like, for cleanup
if you did most of the work on top of this thing here.
So you can turn it to the side like this.
I did it!
Thanks for coming.
No?
Not quite.
Let's be gentle.
Isn't it supposed to be...
Oh, there we go.
Do I have to remove this dirt or can I just do this?
I mean, it seems kind of silly.
You don't want to waste the dirt here, you know?
Why do I have so much dirt?
Does it make any sense?
If you already got dirt, why do you need more?
What's so funny?
Here's why you need more.
Do you see how the roots are all in a circle down here
and they're also coming up up here?
Okay.
That means that it's ready to be repotted.
Because the roots are looking for a new place to go
so they're just curling around themselves.
This is the situation.
Oh Jesus, don't squeeze it so hard.
So just go ahead and rip all this dirt off then.
That's what you think?
Okay, so you said plants.
So pull these roots down.
No?
Keep going.
I mean, maybe, I don't know.
Maybe you could focus on up here first.
You could loosen it in here, correct?
So that you can reuse a little bit of it.
You want to loosen it so that it...
Oh, you're just really going after it.
Okay.
I feel like I'm ripping roots.
That's really hard for me to not give you instructions.
Just maybe be just a little bit more gentle.
Just because...
Okay, don't do that.
Okay, I was telling you maybe just don't be that rough.
Maybe just be a little bit more gentle.
Okay, so just try that.
No?
So that's not a technique?
So we don't want to keep all of this
because a lot of this is peat moss.
Which means that it's going to retain a lot of moisture.
We don't want that.
No, we don't.
We definitely don't want moisture.
Excuse me, it's my work.
Can you get out of here?
I'm sorry.
I'm working here.
I'm sorry.
Okay, there's a little bit down there.
All right.
Okay, you want to put some more right here.
Okay.
Yeah, cool.
This is easy.
I got to shake it up.
You know, I got to stir it.
Get it nice in there and, you know, fitted.
You know, get it sealed in there.
Then you got to pack it in there.
You know, get it nice and smudged.
Shake it a little bit.
You know, it sits in there.
And there we go.
Just got to throw a little bit more dirt in here.
And there you have it, folks.
A re-plotted plant.
Re-plotted?
Right?
Re-potted.
Oh, re-potted.
There you have it, folks.
Re-potted plant.
To remove the plant from the pot, it's a lot easier if you flip it upside down and kind
of squeeze the pot like this.
Because this is the plant's home and it's where it's been living.
So it likes this place.
You did good to remove a lot of the old dirt and loosen those roots.
I was not expecting you to be able to do that or know to do that.
So that was really good.
And then, yeah, good for patting it down.
Because if there's air in there, that's also bad for the plant.
Honestly, I was just kind of spitballing.
So, you know, I was just...
Yeah.
So, you guys, if Danny can do it, the clueless husband that I have...
We always say clueless.
If he can do it, you can do it.
So thank you for joining us on my channel today.
There will be more videos with him to come.
Let me know down in the comments down below if you want to see more of him and what you
would like to see from us together.
Like I said, I have some ideas from Instagram, but I'd love to hear what you guys want to
know or see him do.
Be gentle.
So anyway, yeah, thank you so much for watching and we will see you in the next video.
Bye!
