(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Southampton - Leicester

Hello and a very warm welcome to St. Mary's from AEON Dark alongside the former Fulham and West Ham striker Leroy Rose Sr. It looked like they were on a bit of a revival recently. They beat Spurs 4-1 before that. They won 4-2 at Aston Villa but have lost their last three in all competitions now. Leicester City against Manchester United. Maddison with a lot of whip in it and Iannacci has to score but doesn't. Somehow right in front of goal. That is a fairly astonishing miss. He has to react. There is a hint of offside. It comes through so quickly. Walcott's chasing this. I'm not sure he's going to be checked too often because as he goes to slide his arms are up in the air. He hits the arm of the assistant referee so it's given straight away. It was just confirmed by the referee. Great play by Walcott running in behind again. This is a big moment for Southampton, maybe in their whole season. It's hard to the goalkeeper's right. That's his preferred penalty. And it's saved! It was to the goalkeeper's right. You were right Leroy but it's a superb save by Danny Ward. There's a penalty. Again, it's a good height for Ward. As I said, he knew where it was going. He's anticipated it. It's a good spring. Here's Adams. It's beginning to happen for them now. Kouras has got a wonderful chance here. He does! With a big, big Hampton and they lead Leicester City now. It's a massive goal. It's really tight. And we'll see. But this he does very well. Alcarez, no doubt about that. But he's still got a lot to do. Ricciardo's breathing down his neck. Not confirmed as yet by the referee. The check's over. It is a goal. It's OK. Southampton do have the lead now. To immense relief reverberating around St Mary's. Crack's got a lot of room out here. Luches waiting in the middle. Here's a chance! And he's missed that as well. Well, that is two golden chances. He's found them both. That is a magnificent chance. I was thinking, is he going to play it into Maddison's feet? No, but he spots Iannaccio. I mean, it's a free header from six yards out. No shots on target. They've given the ball away. Iannaccio! He's missed another one. Well, this is extraordinary, really. What is he doing? He's a terrible player. He's not trying to get it all through. And Iannaccio just... Well defended. Even the goalkeeper, Danny Ward, has come forward for that corner. Maddison. Frantic finish here. Nerby finish. Maddison is a good-looking ball, but Zouna doesn't get there! Missed against the bar. Harry Soutar, nearly, nearly right on time. And Southampton breathe again. That's a wonderful ball by James Maddison. And Zouna, he gets nowhere near it. Absolutely nowhere near it. All he has to do is head it down into an empty net. Southampton get three vital points. It's a lifeline win.
