We do a lot of stockpiling videos and we want you to understand that every one of
them has a different purpose. Well today's is about food and some of
these things we've mentioned before. But we've had a lot of people mention
say okay if we don't have a farm if we can't grow food if we can't can food if
we can't dehydrate food say we live in the city we're elder and
we're on a budget but what are the best canned foods that I can buy that I
literally have to do nothing other than purchase.
So today's video is going to be a good one we're going to be talking about 10
items that you need to purchase that deals with food and canned food that
lasts a long time that you can buy weekly or monthly basis on a strict
budget. These things are not costly if you have an extra ten dollars or twenty
dollars here buy some of these canned foods put them up and now you are
building a stockpile for very economically and not having to grow it.
So let's jump right into this video is going to be a good one and it starts
right now. Hey guys welcome to the max if you're new
to the max go down here press subscribe ring the bell
give us a thumbs up or down but also tell me what you think of this video.
We have got a whole list of stockpile and prepping information in a lot of our
playlists check those out. If you're interested in our farming go
get some of our animal playlists there's some devoted to chickens to rabbits to
sheep to cattle to pigs hopefully that will help you in those
journeys. However say for instance you live in an
urban area you live in town you live in city
you're not able to grow any food anymore that's what this video is about. It's
about 10 canned items that you can buy at any
grocery store and you could do it on a budget
and make sure you are starting to put food up that is key. So let's jump into
number one. Number one would be canned chicken.
Canned chicken is a more expensive protein in a can
however it is just so versatile you can add it to any meal
but it also is adding a heavy protein load
to anything that you are eating. It is very good so for instance if you have
noodle meals you have grain meals you have rice meals
chicken is just an all-purpose meat and protein that you can add to just any
meal or eat it straight in the can on a
cracker you have now developed a good protein rich
meal that is healthy for you. Number two goes along with that it's canned tuna.
Now tuna is a little bit different taste if you're not used to
eating canned fish it is a little bit different.
However again protein wise health wise tuna is another
good canned meat. When we talk about eating out of cans and we talk about
eating vegetables out of a can a lot of times we're not getting a lot of heavy
calories we're not getting a lot of protein and that is what we need to
survive and make it through any situation.
If it be a hurricane if it be a storm if it be simply bugging out if it
is anything like that or chaos and collapse we understand that
but the whole goal of prepping is to to understand what could go wrong
and can we eat food and can it last a long time.
With power outages as long as you have a can opener you can eat.
Tuna is again one of those things you don't have to really heat up you can eat
straight from a can very protein rich and pretty economic
especially when you talk about protein. Another meat source I would say and
I'm gonna quote meat source because personally I don't like this but
it's something that you can purchase it's SPAM.
It's canned meat potted meat anything like that people would say
you know it's the cheapest way to eat and a lot of people like to cook it.
Now the one thing I like about the chicken and the tuna is a lot of times
we just eat straight out of a can or we put on a
cracker. SPAM it seems like a lot of people like to heat it up or like to
cook it in some form and fashion but again you can eat it it does have a
lot of protein it does have a lot of sodium so be careful with canned foods
it needs to be added to other meals especially if you think of rice and
noodles grains. These are all good additives because
they're giving you a protein source a fat source
and also some calories that you're going to be needing for anything that you've
got going on. For instance here we have a lot of
storms so it may be cleaning up wood it may be
cutting up and using a chainsaw and breaking down some logs it may be
bringing wood in because the storm is a winter storm and
we're having the light fires. So you're going to be burning a lot of
calories when it comes to inconvenience. These three meat sources are good now
let's jump into a few more things that hopefully will be a little bit better
tasting than spam. Number four would be beef stew or canned
soup that's got a meat in it. So for instance if you're buying
Campbell's or if you're buying the off-brand or you're buying whatever
form of soup or stew or chowder that you like
I would say start stockpiling this. Now soup is is still pretty economical it
has gone up in price like anything else has
but soup gives you the broth if it's beef or chicken broth so you're getting
some nutrients there it also gives you some vegetables there
but it also has a meat source in it that's not just simply
canned meat it's a little bit easier on our palates
sometimes when we've been eating a lot of canned tuna chicken or spam.
So have some canned soup I would challenge you to lean towards the
meatier stewier soups or even the chowders because it does have
a protein source in it instead of just a typical vegetable
soup. I'm not saying don't have a noodle soup or vegetable soup but you
need some hardiness to it so either add protein to it
or have protein already in it. Okay so now for vegetarian proteins
and this is for people who don't like canned meat and if you're not a
vegetarian you just don't like meat out of a can we're going to talk about some
options for you that will give you some protein
and fiber into your diet. So number five would be
baked beans. Baked beans are hardier they're a filler
they're yummy and they're full of calories also has some sugar in it which
is not a bad thing a little sugar helps us again
keep some energy there. Having fats having proteins having fibers in baked
beans is a good meal because of the thickness
it tends to go well as a good little side dish to add some calories and make
you feel fuller especially with the fiber. Now
number six would also go along with that would be black beans.
Same thing black beans is a good protein rich
fiber rich bean that you can eat that is good for your diet.
If you're talking health black beans is very good.
If you're talking about supplementing meat black beans is very good.
So it's just a good all-around bean that I think that you need to be adding to
your diet. Both of those beans baked beans tend to
be the most expensive beans because it's already mixed with whatever is in it you
know to make it baked beans or barbecue or maple syrup or
whatever's in there. However when it comes to black beans
black beans you can buy very cheaply because it's just black
beans. Usually a dollar a dollar fifty a can is all it takes.
So you can stockpile a lot of black beans and it's good to add to other
dishes to have as a side with some of that
protein that we talked about on the front.
Some of that meat protein if you like meat protein. If you don't stick to this
because it's good protein good fiber and also add some calories to you just
like the baked beans. Number seven would be chickpeas. Same way
as we talked about with the black beans and baked beans.
I'm not against peas. I love green beans. I love peas. Love butter beans. All those
things I grow in our gardens. But when we're talking about fiber when
we're talking about protein and we're talking about supplementing meat
or needing more calories we tend to stay away from the
the corns and the green beans sweet peas all those things.
We tend to look at the fiber rich beans such as
garbanzo, chick, baked beans or navy beans or black beans.
So we've talked baked beans we've talked black beans be chickpeas.
They are very protein rich. Other than lentils
chickpeas tend to be what a lot of protein builders and a lot of people who
like protein intake tends to lean toward because they are protein rich
and you don't have to have the meat source for that. So I would challenge you
look at these three beans. On to number eight.
Number eight I'm going to throw you a curveball. Sugar caffeine
rush that sometimes we need and also it helps us keep that energy burning.
Number eight would be a sweet such as something like apple pie filling
or sweet potato pie filling. Now this is
heavy sugar we understand and I'm not saying you need to be eating this all
the time but sometimes when we're eating beans
and protein all the time we got to mix it up and having a palate
change for just a second or just for a scoop
or just eat out of a can just a few spoonfuls
having something sweet would be good. It keeps our energy up
keeps our motivation up to do whatever we're having to do.
Now if you don't like the pie fillings they're too sweet look at things like
the applesauces look at things like canned fruit. Canned
fruit tends to be a little bit more pricier than
we talk about pie fillings. So again sweet potato pie filling
apple pie filling. If you don't like those go with something like an
applesauce or a canned fruit. You need a sweetness
to mix with all this fiber and protein again for energy
for caffeine for sugar to just balance out your system.
Number nine and ten are a little bit different than the first eight. The first
eight dealt with canned food such as you know you
have to use a can opener to open it or you have the little pop tops that
they are starting to make which are cool to have
especially in a situation where you don't want to have a can opener all the
time. But number nine and ten are a little
bit different. Again protein and fat sources that are
huge and tends to be something that you need to have in your diet.
Number nine being peanut butter. You know I believe in peanut butter. I love
peanut butter. It is shelf stable. I would say around a year or two
depending on what kind you're buying. Try to buy the ones that's natural
that doesn't have a lot of additives in it. Also your rotation. All these things
are rotation. Now these last years but you need to learn to rotate no
matter what. I love crazy richards peanut butter.
That's the one I like to buy. I don't like a sugary peanut butter and that
tends to be a natural peanut butter. But buy some peanut butter. It is heavy
protein and is helping to get some of that fat into your system
that is a good healthier fat. Now that goes along with
number 10 which is mixed nuts or peanuts or your favorite nut that you can get.
This is again you buy them in cans. There tend to be plastic glass
or even metal. Make sure you have some mixed nuts or peanuts. Now this is
probably one of the most expensive things on the list but it is
very valuable because it's a quick source of fat
and protein but also a little snack along the way. If you're trying to
conserve some of your protein such as your chickens and tunas
and quote-unquote spam meats then you can look at something like the peanut
butter or the peanuts or the mixed nuts. These are staples on our shelves. All
these things we eat a lot. I actually like all these other than
spam. I like all of these. I can eat spam though. I can tolerate it.
But what I am saying is all these things can be purchased
for pretty economic. You can pick up two or three of these cans for
under ten dollars each time you go to your grocery store.
Please don't say you can't do this because this is one of the most
economical ways that you can start stockpiling food.
Food is going up in price so you are investing in your
future and investing in your energy and your life
by buying these canned foods. Now I have several other stockpile and prepping
videos that talk about Walmart lists. It talks
about being on a budget what your weekly purchases are
and also some big purchases but this was devoted to the ones who cannot grow food
who live in city or apartment areas and has no other options other than to buy.
So please don't look at this video and say well we can grow that.
Well we can. I do. I don't. I grow most of our food. 90% of our food.
100% of our meat. But this is for the people who cannot
do that. So please understand the value of buying
food if you cannot grow it and this was devoted to cans,
devoted to economics, but protein, fiber, sweet
and snacks all tied in together and it could be
life-saving things in this list. Ultimately the peace that we have in any
situation comes from Jesus and I hope that you feel
the same way. This volatile world we live in is not
easy but when we rely on him it does make it easier.
Guys thank you so much for watching. Let me know what you think about this list.
Comment below. God bless. Happy homesteading y'all.
