INSANE OT ENDING Celtics vs Cavaliers | March 6, 2023

Great defense by Mobley that time. He's defending him from the right side, so he couldn't go to the baseline. Levert off to Stephens for three. He knocks it down. Well, you might as well. You played all the defense now. Now it's time to play some offense. Stephens deep in the rock. What a huge boost. Stephens has been in this ballgame. We have an illegal screen on Brown. Stephens and Garland came together looking to defend. Brown commits the illegal screens, and the Cavaliers have the ball back with a two-point lead and 2-0-1 to go. Here's Brown. Was he moving? He sure was, and he got the arms up into Garland. Now is the execution, and that means making the shot, because you've got a one-possession game. You want to take it to two. Mitchell back to Stephens. Thought about it. Stephens in toward Muscala. Put a shoulder into Muscala. He banks and Lamar Stephens is having a huge night. The confidence is soaring, and Stephens doing his thing. Good defense by Mobley. Levert knocks it away. The Cavs have been crying out for a reserve to step up over the last couple of weeks. Stephens gets his shot tonight, and on both ends, he has made a huge, huge impact. Well, it's amazing. He's played all the defense to end the last game and get into overtime, and now his offense is stepping up and the Cavs' defense is stepping up big time. Levert and Stephens converged on Brown. Cavs by four. 1.20 remains. Mitchell takes the mare out of the basketball. He's watched by Brogdon. The Cavs have scored the last seven points. Stephens has five. Mitchell for three. Stephens! Unbelievable offensive rebound. Loose ball. His body's hit the deck. His offenses came to life. Stephens has a career-high six offensive rebounds. The guys played only 16 minutes. Brown pressured. Brogdon. Watched by Mitchell. Mitchell knocked it away. Brogdon has to hit the deck. On the seat of his pants, will bounce it back to Brown. Brown now relatively late in the shot clock. Spins, floats it up and floats it in. Boy, the Cavs' bench is vehemently claiming that that was a walk. He really got away with that because Garland almost stole the ball from him. It's a two-point game. 35 seconds to go. Brown now has 32. Mitchell, picked up by White. Three to shoot. Mitchell, step back. Mobley bats at the Garland. Garland with the shot clock now showing 11. Gets fouled by White. Levert inbounds to Garland. Less than a second difference between shot clock and game clock. The Celtics will look for a steal or a foul. And there's the foul with nine seconds to go. So Darius Garland, an 86% free-throw shooter, who's one for two from the line tonight, will shoot two here looking to make this a two-possession game with nine seconds remaining in overtime. Well, the Cavs have fought all the way back and put themselves in position now to have control of this ballgame with two free-throws here. The 23-year-old Garland tows the line. Cavaliers, 117. Celtics, 114. A hush that comes over the crowd. Garland's second. It's good. Fouled on effort. This is a don't-foul spot right here. Yikes. It's a foul, it's called. You don't want to give them driving lanes. You want to keep everything in front of you. White is the trigger man. Goes into Grant Williams. Williams a contested three. He missed it. Rebounded by Mitchell. And the Cavaliers have completed the comeback. Their third victory against the Celtics. Their third victory against this team in overtime as Donovan Mitchell goes for 40 points.
