Repotting Houseplants! | Repot Indoor Plants & Chat!

Hey guys, it's Harley. I'm back today with another repotting video. It's been so long since I've filmed or uploaded for my own channel. It's been like a week. It's so weird because normally I upload two or three times a week, so just been a little off my game, I guess. Not only that, but my sister Morgan actually started a YouTube channel, so we've been working really hard on her first video. I did all the filming and editing, and then of course she's the star of the show, so I'll link her video down below as well as pin the link in the top of the comments if you want to watch her video. One of which are these beautiful basket planters, which I absolutely love. I want to make a million of these. She definitely plans to do some plant-related content as well, so if you're interested in getting to know my sister, she's going to be uploading more consistently because that's my first little tidbit of news. She is actually moving in with Ryan and I into our basement, so yeah, she's going to be around for my videos a lot more. She's going to help me film some stuff, and then I'm going to help her run her YouTube channel. Yeah, you'll be seeing a lot more of her around here. But anyway, today I just thought we would keep it casual since I'm trying to get my life together for spring and summer and repot some plants. I have a lot of stuff to repot, and this is going to be an extra fun video because everything I'm repotting pretty much, I hope it's for you guys, for the giveaway I'm going to be doing soon. I planned to do the giveaway this week, but then I booked a couple of trips through May, so I'll be out of town, so I don't know when it's going to be up. I promise you, a really, really good giveaway is coming and it'll be so worth the wait, I swear. Yeah. So, first thing I guess, let me try to get comfortable. We're sitting on the floor like the good old days. Number one, I'm just going to separate this little Peperomia Hope. I'm going to share a piece of this with someone off of Instagram. This one's for you, Olivia. This one is going to Olivia. I don't know if she watches my videos or if she just follows me on Instagram, but yes, this is for you, girlfriend, if you're out there. I'm not going to talk about the ghost in my house today because I am a little bit scared of talking about the ghost, especially when I'm at home alone, and I really, really worry about making the ghost mad because honestly, it hasn't been bothering me lately. It's been a few months, so I honestly don't want to get it started again, you know? So I'm really worried about that. If you're hearing children's screams, it's because the neighbor kids are either having a really, really good time or they're being ax murdered. So if you hear screaming, that's them. I hope you guys are excited for the giveaway. I know I've been talking about it for so long, but you know, life, like life just in general, but it is coming and I really hope you're excited for it. I want there to be so many winners, super, super grateful, like I don't want to get too sappy because you know, if I get too sappy, I cry, I'm a little boob. I'm really appreciative. Maybe I'm going to get real for a second, but I went to college and I went out of state for my first two years of college. I got a full ride soccer scholarship. I played soccer for two years and then I transferred to a division one school here where I live and I played on their soccer team. I just had a really hard time. I was like really pushing myself. I was in the honor society. I was in student government. I was taking 24 credit hours and playing soccer. I had so many extracurricular and then also credit hours, like 24 credit hours in college is a lot. The school I went to made me sign a waiver that I would go to therapy every week and if I committed suicide, we wouldn't sue the school, whatever. Anyway, that was just kind of a dark time in my life. I ended up quitting for reasons unrelated and then once I like didn't play soccer anymore, I don't know if any of you guys will get it either, but I played soccer my whole life, but once I quit and I didn't, couldn't define myself as an athlete anymore after defining myself that way for so long, it just really, really was hard on me. So I was in, I was honestly in a depression for like three straight years. I didn't know who I was. Very unhappy until probably like a year ago is when things really turned around. I found out who I was. Moral of the story, I am so appreciative of you guys for like giving me this platform to do something I love. It's crazy. I never in a million years would I have thought I'd be so happy where I was a year ago to now is so drastically different and it seriously is because you guys tune into all my videos and you thumbs up or thumbs down my videos or leave me comments, you know, like it's just, it feels really nice and it's so cool to have so many like genuinely, I don't know if you guys feel the same, but I like recognize your names in the comments. Even if I don't always respond to every single comment like I used to, it's just so hard to keep up now. I recognize names and I look forward to hearing from people on every video and I catch myself talking to people about my friends and then I, it like dawns on me, I've never met you in real life, but you're my friends, you know, it's just really cool. The internet is weird. So weird. So I don't know if you, while I was rambling on, I repotted a rapha defora tetrasperma, which will be a giveaway prize and then a monstera adansonii and I have a whole bunch more of monstera adansonii. Oh gosh, it's like not even coming out of the jar because there's so many with some serious roots. Oh no. Oh ----. You guys, I don't know if I'm going to be able to get this out. Come on babies. Oh, I should have done this a long time ago. There are some serious root systems here and now they're all like tangled up. But anyway, yeah, on a lighter, brighter note, I'm going on two trips next month. So leave a guess in the comments as to where you think I'm going. It's not super exciting. They're just kind of casual trips. Keep that in mind. I'm not like going international. I guess I could say that. Oh my gosh, you guys, I don't know. Oh, I should have planned this through a little better. I literally have just stuck these in a jar a few months ago. Look at those roots. I just ignore them and they do fine, but I don't know, is that normal? Some people say that they have a hard time water propagating and I just, I don't know. It's hard for me to believe that because I have just been sticking them in there and they do well. You know? Hi Axel. Go lay down, honey. Go bark at the neighbors. Go bark at them. Not going to answer that. I get a spam phone call every time I sit down to film one of these, I swear. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited for you guys to do the giveaway and for the winners to get their plants because really I feel like I'm going to have some good ones for you and I hope you're excited. I just keep saying the same crap over and over, but it's true. I've just been having so much fun with the plants lately. I want to spread the love and with this spring, it's so weird because I had all of these plants in water for a few months, like I said. They were taking so long to root. Maybe like one month ago, all of a sudden everything grew and all the roots like doubled in length and not only did I need the sunlight, my plants needed the sunlight, I guess basically we are plants. I asked on Instagram what you guys thought I should do with the monstera perus, if I should keep them full or separate them, but most people voted to keep them full and I agree to a point. So I'm just going to compromise because I want there to be a lot of winners. Literally, I want to be sending out a hundred plants for real. I mean, that's the goal. I've been saving money for shipping and then I've been saving plants of course, but I decided I'm going to split one of these up and then keep one of them full just so that that way more people can win. You know, we want to spread the love. We're going to do this guy. I'm really excited to see what the roots are like on this one. I need to unclasp him from his little totem. This is really rooted in there. Oh my gosh. This is so impressive. Holy cow. Okay. Oh my gosh. You guys look. So cool. Okay. These are so grown into the totem. I don't even know what to do. Okay. Come on, baby. It's so stuck on there. Oh, this is crazy. I might have to undo the totem pole. Yep. Okay. That'll work. I guess. Try not to break the aerial roots. I know it's not that big of a deal, but I just don't want to shock the plant too much, you know? Oh, they're free. Okay. Let's see. Let's see what we're working with. I'm going to just pop him in water. Yeah, it's weird. Some of these have like serious, crazy roots and then some of them don't, I don't know what is going on. Ooh, look at this one. It's been so productive today. Feels nice. Cause I've been kind of lazy for the last week. Mentally I needed a lazy week, but now I'm feeling ready. I'm all caught up on laundry. Yeah. I'm really excited for Morgan to move in. I guess I like her. I don't know. We hang out a lot, but she cooks. We're both vegetarian and she cooks every night and she cooks bomb recipes. So, oh, that would might be a good video for her. A week of recipes because she seriously cooks some bomb, bomb vegetarian meals. And me and Ryan struggle with cooking every night. So it'll be nice to have Morgan here. One of the trips I'm going on is with her and my other sister. I have two sisters, by the way. I know, I think some people think I'm an only child, but nope. There's actually four of us whole siblings. Look at this plant. Killer. Did I mention this is the Monstera Peru? It's also known as a Monstera Carstenianum, I think. When I was buying these, the buyer actually told me that that's not official yet. So technically it's a Monstera Peru. Do you see this? These poor roots are going to be so stressed out, but I think it'll be, the plants will be fine. Maybe I'm going to have to make some moss poles for whoever wins these to ship them safely. I'm sorry. I'm not feeling very chatty today. It's weird. Normally I'm like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. These are beautiful plants. Like, this is going to be such a good giveaway not to toot my own horn or anything. I'm so stupid. Oh yeah. Yeah. I'm glad I separated one of these because now instead of only two people winning these, six people are going to be able to, which is so awesome. And this, people say is a slow grower, but they grew quickly. When I bought it, they weren't even above the totem pole yet. And now like all the leaves, I don't know if you could see the top. You can't, but the leaves were well above the totem. Oh my gosh. That scared me. I saw some little like red and white specks on the leaf and I was like, oh no, spider mites. But it's just dirt. That was scary. Okay. Is this all I'm going to pot today? I actually think that's all I'm going to separate today. I have been working on lots of new videos that have been more highly requested, but just require more time to film. So I promise you those are coming, one of which is next early next week.
