[HOW TO] Updo with hair stick by a Korean hair stylist. [ENG Sub]
Hello! I'm Yoojin.
In this video, I'll show you how to use a hair stick.
This updo doesn't require elastics.
I rarely watch TV.
But I'm hooked on Hotel del Luna these days!
In Hotel del Luna, Jang Man-wol wears a hair stick.
She saves her co-star by pulling out her hair stick through a sexy move.
She is so gorgeous!
So I tried on a hair stick too.
I couldn't find the hair stick I used to wear.
So I used a pencil.
But it broke since my hair is too strong!
So I'm wearing a steel chopstick instead.
I hadn't done it in a long time.
So using a hair stick was a bit confusing.
That's why I'm making this video.
I'll be using this steel chopstick.
But if your hair isn't thick and strong like mine,
you can use anything that's long and thin like a pencil or a pen, if you don't own a hair stick.
I'm going to purchase a hair pin.
The one Jang Man-wol wears in Hotel del Luna!
I'm gonna get the same one.
First,
this is the easiest way to wear a hair stick.
You know bun hair, right?
Hold with one hand, and twist your hair.
All the way around.
Twist,
so it'll hold strong for even people with layered hair.
After you've made a bun like this,
stick through the center of the outer circle.
With hair closer to the scalp, (the end of the chopstick touches your scalp, and points to the opposite direction)
Push sideways.
The opposite bun,
Pull the upper part of the bun towards your scalp.
And stick through.
It can hold your hair well without an elastic
Oh, this is too horizontal!
If the bun is low, it'll be like hanbok (traditional Korean dress) hair.
So lift the bun a bit.
Put your head back slightly.
And lift your hair just a bit.
Same as before.
Twist.
(Hide the end by twisting it towards the scalp.)
When you're done twisting,
I'll stick through in this direction.
Choose the point where you want to stick through.
The center of the outer circle.
Stick it in.
Get as much hair you can from the scalp.
The outer circle.
Slightly pull the outer hair of the bun towards your scalp.
Slightly raise the angle of the chopstick.
Push it through the outer bun.
Like so.
The bun hair stick has the strongest hold.
It's strong and simple.
It's a hair stick style that anyone can do.
I often wear this style with a pen, when I don't have an elastic.
Next,
the second style.
I'm going to grab my hair low.
Don't hold it too tight though.
Leave a bit of space.
Put the hair stick on top.
Where your pinky is.
Press the stick inwards,
then wrap your hair once from the outside to the inside.
And then,
turn the stick clockwise.
When it becomes hard to turn,
shake gently while raising the stick.
Remember to hold on to the hair in your left hand.
Turn the stick clockwise and make it vertical. Then, from the top,
flip the stick and push through.
This bit of hair is for style.
I think I'd look old if I didn't have that.
(Let's go over it once more.)
Put it on top.
Wrap it once towards the left.
Turn the stick clockwise.
Turn it until it doesn't turn anymore.
When it's tight,
wiggle and raise.
Make sure you're holding on to the end with your left hand.
Hold tight, and wiggle up.
When it reaches the top,
hold the stick upright,
and stick through the inner scalp hair,
and the outer hair.
It holds very strong and won't become loose.
When your busy, you can use this simple up style.
Or when you're out of elastics,
you can use a pencil, pen, or a chopstick.
It's an up style that's easy to follow.
Wearing a hair stick isn't difficult, right?
Try it on your own.
