What's going on guys? Kevin from Epic Gardening here.
Got a update on the tower garden round two, season two.
Actually just season two, forget about the rounds. Where we're talking more
about the grow process and less about the towers themselves.
Now I was on vacation. I just got back yesterday night.
I was on vacation for five days and all I wanted to do was just have this
tower thing run on complete autopilot and still produce really good results.
Now I'm going to get a little bit closer on the plants pretty soon but as you can
see from the last update the plants are
doing really really well and you know I did
absolutely nothing except for make sure that the the water
was still running while I was gone on vacation.
That's it. Just make sure electricity was coming into the system.
Aside from that I ph'd and properly added nutrients to the water before I
left. Gave a little bit extra just in case it
was going to run out but these plants are very young so I don't expect that to
happen and in fact it didn't happen. We're going to go ahead and take a look
at the close-ups real quick just to show you exactly how healthy
these plants have become. So the kale was probably as far as the
leaf diameter goes the biggest leaf when I left was about
this size here. This really small little thing or maybe
somewhere closer to this this actually this cotillion here. As you
can see it's probably gone up about 10x in size
every single kale. Spinach and chard. Spinach up top and the chard right here
are doing really well. Chard I've noticed is a little bit slower to grow in
general than kale or lettuce as we can see down
here but in general it's doing really well.
Over in tower number two this is more of the lettuce and the
cilantro beds and the cilantro I've had trouble growing
in the past. Not this time guys it's absolutely perfect and I'm growing
multiple plants in each one just because I know
that it can support that. A couple other lettuce varieties down
here as well as this is the Thai basil at the very bottom here.
If we get in close on that we can see that it's doing really really well.
Now just to talk a little bit about the method because I know that's what this
whole thing is about. It's very simple. I gave it a little bit
more than what general hydroponics recommends in the
mild vegetative growth phase. So I believe it's a teaspoon per gallon.
I went at about 1.5 teaspoons just because I know from my experience that
leafy greens can handle it. But that's about it for now guys. If you
