Now I go to the room which is another major
headache to make a trip and find something affordable
I use Booking for my stays
I think most of you know this site I'm leaving here Booking
What's wrong with Booking Well you also look for a destination you look
for the dates you're going once you already know the city you're going to
You know when to when you put all that there
here comes a list of amazing hotels
Both hotels hostels and guesthouses that's all
included and you can sort them by rating by criteria
It has air conditioning it has heating it has a television
it has a private bathroom and sort by price
And then they offer you really great deals
For example with Interrail which I did four years ago already in 2012
We were three friends and we did an Interrail that we called the Pijo Interrail
Why the Interrail Pijo Because usually when people do an Interrail
A huge backpack is slung over the back here with nothing carried
We were looking for hostels and dorms usually with eleven other people
then we really wanted to do an Interrail
We wanted to visit everything we could but we also wanted to do it comfortably
So we did it with suitcases instead of backpacks
And hotels instead of hostels
And the truth is that it worked out very well it was very cheap
because it wasn't more expensive than staying in hostels or dormitories
Where you share the room with more people it's about knowing how to look
We for example in Prague remember that we found a four-star hotel
for 13 euros each per night which included a spa and all-inclusive amenities
And in the end you end up at a hostel a guesthouse since it costs that or even more
meaning it's very cheap
It's true that it's a bit further from the center not the very center but you
could get there in half an hour so during that half hour you slept really well
With all services included including breakfast buffet included
for 13 euros per night
It was worth it for us to use hotels
That's why I highly recommend the Abuki website
You're the best page I've found there are
more many more but I know the rest less
Then I also don't want to recommend it without really having my own criteria Yes
I do use what people say when it's on TripAdvisor
To book but rather to read reviews of specific hotels
Another thing that Abuki has that is very good is that it has thousands and thousands of reviews
So for every hotel you find you'll have dozens hundreds of reviews
Where it tells you everything about the hotel and then you really get an idea of what it is
Something that has been very good in recent years as more attention has been given to the fact that
You can comment on and rate the places you visit where you
travel and where you eat and hoteliers also put in the effort
Hotels used to do whatever they wanted because you didn't
know you just picked a hotel and didn't know what to expect
Then they could provide worse service because if
you complained it would also end up going nowhere
You would tell three or four friends and that's
it But now with all these social networks review sites and such
Hoteliers put in a lot of effort to ensure that the services are the best
possible Because they know that this will later affect the final opinion
Surely if your stay has been positive in many cases you don't even think about it
But the problem is that if it's bad you will have an opinion
so it's better to have your page without comments
than having comments that are negative
Then it's very positive and in Burkina Faso you
can get a very good idea of where you're actually traveling
I have rarely failed at a place that Bukin has taken
at is go there and say damn what a terrible place rarely
Because if you read the reviews and such
you go in with pretty clear ideas about what you're paying for
Another option I've used a lot lately is Airbnb
I think you already know it I've used it a lot in my trips
And if you've seen them you've seen that I've used them a few
times for example in New York in Japan sometimes also around there
And basically they are private homes where people rent out the entire
house or just a room whatever it is at a sometimes more economical price
Who can give you a hotel
For example in New York it would be much cheaper to go to an Airbnb
What I mean is getting a hotel hotels are too expensive in
New York normally during a high season I can't even imagine it
Then an Airbnb is always going to be
at much more relaxed prices than depending on which place you go to a hotel
For example in New York the cheapest we saw in
a hotel was around 60-70 euros person per night
And in Airbnb I think it cost us about 40 person per night
So it's still high compared to the average I was experiencing in hotels
But it's the most expensive place I've ever stayed in my life
where you have to pay for a hotel
It doesn't mean there are more expensive hotels elsewhere
It's simply that the standard I follow in New
York by that same standard was much higher in price
The secret formula for my trips ultimately focuses on
off-peak seasons in making the most of vacation days
It greatly optimizes the search for flights hotels and other services
Another tip I'm going to give you is to always avoid pre-set packages
Avoid travel agencies avoid packages you find
around always look for everything on your own
I know it can be more work but if you don't mind spending a bit go to
a travel agency that organizes everything that's just a matter of taste
Don't criticize it it's just something I don't like let me look
at everything on my own and have the trip 100% planned by me
and always tailored to what I want to do
I don't want a tour package where they do things that are just okay
That don't interest me at all and they always take you to all
the tourist spots like a flock of sheep and to everyone else
I like to go on my trips where occasionally you'll end up in places
where all the tourists are it's normal
you don't have to go through them
and other places where you suddenly feel like getting lost and being
alone in quiet places at your own
pace and staying as long as you want
Don't let the guide tell you
to rush because in the end it's always much
more complicated and you can always look for the cheapest trip available
It's the same one you can find yourself and then they add a
commission percentage that stays with them so it
will always be more expensive for you
What I'm saying about tourist packages and tours and all that doesn 't
always apply there are times when I do recommend taking a tour
For example when went to New York we took a tour
that was in a huge van a
tour of New York contracts
It was called that it called you by the different neighborhoods
and it goes to Brooklyn it goes to Queens it goes through Harlem
It went everywhere through the Bronx and it was great because in
the end it took us to places we
probably wouldn't have gone normally
because weren't there that long and New York has so much to see that you could
spend months exploring every corner A tour like
this is a place where you can do it quickly
It can show you places you would never
go to it gives you a lot of
information that you also don't know so every now and then taking one of these tours
I definitely recommend it In Dubai
for example we did a tour that we
otherwise wouldn't have been able to
do which took us on off-road vehicles
Riding like surfing on the dunes
then you did quads you rode a camel
then those are parks that depend on the location and are very good
In November I'm going to take for example a trip that will be entirely
guided and tour-based and so on but it'
s a place where there's no other option
Because on your own it's not at all safe
Today I'm not going to give you much information
but then again it depends on the place there are always exceptions
but for 90% of the sites I always recommend
going on your own your own route and
whatever comes up and if you can't get
to another site because of such and such
Then you will always take something else with you
