This offseason, it seems as if the Golden State Warriors have done it again,
acquiring possibly yet another superstar, Indiangelo Russell.
Russell burst onto the college scene at Ohio State. Russell became known as a guy that could
do everything. He was a guy that could literally pick his spot. Russell shot 7 threes a game at
Ohio State while shooting 41% from the 3 point line. In case you guys didn't know, that's absurd.
He also averaged 19 points and 5 assists. Though 5 assists is very good for college,
especially from a freshman, I feel like that number didn't do DeAngelo Russell's passing
creativity justice. This was a guy that could go out and fill it up and also drop dimes with the
best of them. With the league trending to more of a perimeter based league and perimeter players
seemingly having more impact than bigs, DeAngelo's game seemed perfect for the style of play that was
being embraced in the NBA. Russell's craftiness drew comparisons from Penny Hardaway to Brandon
Roy. His size at 6'4, 6'5 made him an elite prospect. The Lakers would draft DeLo with the
second pick in the 2015 NBA draft. DeLo would play two seasons with the Lakers, you guys know how
that turned out, and he would be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. It almost would seem like a salary
dump. DeLo went on to have his best season with the Nets this past season. He shot 43% from the
field, posted a career high and 3 point shooting percentage at 37%, and also scored a career high
21 points a game. But DeLo's path would soon end with the Nets, and he would end up on the
Golden State Warriors. Now this is where things start to get a little fun. But before we get into
that be sure to subscribe and turn on post notifications guys you won't want to miss another
decoup video, and that's facts. Circling back to DeLo posting a career high and 3 point percentage
at 37%, what if I told you guys that DeLo's 3 point percentage could get even better, that he
could have even a more deadly shot. Well, that's what I'm here to show you guys that DeLo is working
on in this video. Not only is he shooting the 3 ball, what seems to be more efficient with less
movement in his shot, it seems that DeLo's shot has become quicker. I can't imagine what DeAngelo
Russell would be capable of if he was developing a Stephen Curry type of release. A release that is
so hard to block, and I'm not saying by any means is DeLo's shot already easy to block, but you guys
know that Stephen Curry has one of the fastest releases in the NBA. Now in this video, DeLo's
not just working with any NBA trainer, he's working with Chris Brickley. Brickley is a guy
that has had much experience training NBA superstars, and he's had much experience playing
basketball himself, and from a coaching standpoint. He also has a history of being able to get the
best out of NBA players, or just talent period. If you guys check out the description below,
I will have a link to his Instagram. It's just crazy to me to think that DeLo is a guy that is
near his prime. I truly believe that DeAngelo Russell has many steps left to make and take.
Now, what separates DeLo in this video to me is also, he's a guy with a 6'10 wingspan at 6'5".
This is a really big guard. A lot of times you see guys with these longer wingspans,
they have these slower jump shots, and of course they make these jump shots work.
But it's just crazy to me, because DeLo's jump shot already was a decent speed if not quick,
now you see this guy, he's shooting even quicker, he's shooting a Stephen Curry type speed.
I don't know, I think DeLo could really be on track to have a major year, especially in Golden
State's system. I think this is going to be something really special. But people are sleeping
on the fact that the Warriors now have Willie Cauley-Stein, they were signed to Key Peace,
and Kevon Looney who's a very good player. What I'm trying to say is, I don't think the Warriors
became this good by accident. Let me know where you guys think they're going to finish in the West
in the comments below. When you also take into account that DeLo's going to be learning from
two of the best 3-point shooters from the guard position of all time. It's just ridiculous.
And possibly incorporating more off-ball movement into his game is going to be major. I think it's
going to have a really good effect on his career. Of course I could be wrong, but I'm interested in
knowing what you guys feel is going to happen down in the comments below. Also able to now
develop that defense with Draymond. Let me know what you guys think, I'm DQ, much more videos
coming soon, subscribe, notifications on, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
