In spring the park surrounding Namsan tower turns into the biggest cherry blossom garden in Seoul. Roads and paths leading up the hill to Namsan tower are covered in white cherry petals and yellow blossoms of the golden bell trees. So a big section of Seoul forest is covered in cherry blossom. A favorite spot for pictures is on the bridge connecting Seoul forest with the bank of Hangang river. It is a popular dating destination and sometimes it might be a bit difficult to get a good spot for photos as everybody is doing the same. There are not so many cherry blossom trees in the palaces as other locations in Seoul but the setting is so cool that the few blooming trees you will find in Changdeokgung palace would definitely make a great impression. Make sure not to miss the fluffy cherry trees next to the entrance of the secret garden. With cherry blossoms or not the secret garden of Changdeokgung palace is amazing. Walking around the pavilions and naturally landscaped ponds is such a calm healing experience. The architectural style of Kyunghee university is very untypical for Korea so when you see it covered in cherry blossom you will think you're somewhere in Europe. The big church like building on the hill is actually an art gallery. Hidden up in the northern part of the city dream forest is stunning during the cherry blossom season. Climb up the wooden stairs for an amazing view to the whole park. Make sure to check out the beautiful Korean style pavilion based in the lake. It's a perfect setting for pictures as the background is layers of cherry blossom and blooming yellow bushes. Over 1900 Korean cherry trees stretch for 1.7 kilometers along the Yeouido Hangang park. Just behind the building of the Korean national assembly the area is very spectacular at sunset with the city lights reflected on the slow golden waters of Hangang river. The main buildings of Changdeokgung palace are currently under renovation but there are so many areas with beautiful cherry blossom trees in the palace. Check the area right after Hongwangmun gate, the main gate to the palace. Roam around the big park with a pond to the right and you'll see beautiful spring flowers and trees blooming in discreet pink colors. Seoul olympic park is a favorite recreational destination for the locals as it offers countless spots and beautiful nature sites and city views. In spring you will find thick fluffy cherry blossoms that are usually blooming a bit later than the most common Korean cherry blossom trees. There's plenty of cherry blossom along the banks of Hangang river. Especially spectacular is Nanji Hangang park right after the Mangwon area. From there you can go and explore Pyonghwa and Hanol park. Smallest of all grand palaces of Joseon, Deoksugung palace is very spectacular in spring as there is a big cherry tree in front of the classical building of the palace just next to the fountain park. Eumbongsan mountain turns in yellow during spring thanks to the vertical plants that the hill is covered with. Seoul forest is just on the opposite side of Hangang river so it's perfect to combine the two places. There are beautiful cherry blossom trees on the sides of the highway passing along the bank of the river. You will be surprised how many cherry blossom and beautiful spring flowers are sprinkled around the area famous for being the tech capital of South Korea. Explore the banks of the river crossing the densely populated with glassy office buildings area. The best is to rent the electrical cacao bike and move around fast and explore as much as you can.
