Freediving in Fiji: Adventures on One Breath #4

We are in Fiji. I'm here with Brian Bailey and we're staying on a yacht on Malolo Island, which is this beautiful little island in the Mamanuka Islands just off the west coast of Fiji. We're diving with Subsurface Fiji who are letting us stay on this yacht and basically showing us an awesome time. We've just woken up in Malolo Island and we're staying on Kurt's yacht and it is beautiful. I had such a great sleep on the water. It's my first night I've ever spent on a yacht actually. Brian's getting himself ready for the day. We're about to go and dive. We're going to the island that Castaway was filmed on. So we're going to go visit Tom Hanks and Vomo Island where all the caves are. That's right. It's going to be epic. As Brian would say, it's going to be hippy. So you're all in big trouble now because we've found the captain's hat and apparently I'm the captain now. What a day of diving does to Brian. Look at him. This is what happens when you turn 40. You go for a dive and you wind up in bed. Time to get supplies. All a day's work boys. All a day's work. You're witnessing the birth of Adam the Yachty. We've just been told that apparently there's a pretty big swell out at Cloudbreak. So we're going to head out there today and have a look at it, fly the drone around. Should be fun. Seen waves as big as they're telling me it's going to be. So see how we go. Brian basically every afternoon he gets a bunch of messages from his kids and today after listening to all the messages he turns to me and he says, weirdos. Lovely weirdos. Just woken up. Sun's coming up and I've been sleeping so well on this yacht. I don't know. I think it's just because I enjoy getting rocked around on the ocean and because it's so quiet. So it's just been so magic. That's the sunrise here on Malolo Island. Very hard to beat. Got Brian in the galley, which is what they call a kitchen on a boat, which is what I'm learning. And he is making coffee because that's what good Bryans do. Making coffee mate. You want one? I'd love a coffee. Actually, I'm also eating last night's cold pizza. You want some mate? So we've been diving for a few days now in Fiji and it's pretty, it's pretty nice. You know, some of the most consistently clear water that I've been diving in for a long time, which is good. And there's heaps of variety. You know, there's like lots of cool drop offs. The coral is really nice and healthy. There were sharks everywhere. So it's such a wicked place to be like above and below the water, especially because we get to stay on this awesome yacht. Life's pretty hard guys. Please come and rescue us. I'm feeling quite sad. We've got to leave tomorrow. So we've been on this yacht for four days now and it didn't take me very long to turn the place into a bit of a pigsty. Um, look, let's just say mum wouldn't be happy right now. Bye you beautiful thing. You've been good to us. We love you. I'll see you again. Daddy loves you.
