Hello beautiful mamas and mamas-to-be. Pregnancy is the gift that keeps on
giving and this week I got a friend. It is story time for my 22 to 24 week
pregnancy update coming up.
Hello beautiful mamas and mamas-to-be. Welcome back to my channel. If you happen
to be new here my name is Nicole. I'm a mama. I'm a pediatric occupational
therapist as well as an intentional parenting coach. I'm also a certified
lactation counselor and on this channel you're going to find strategies, tips, and
my life experience to help make motherhood more fun, more easy, and less
stressful. So if that sounds like something you're into do me a favor and
hit the subscribe button below. Alright guys so this is my 22 to 24 week
pregnancy update and it just keeps getting more fun. As you've probably just
been staring at for the past minute as I did this intro I have a heart monitor
now because forgive me if I told this story in my last pregnancy update. I will
make it quick. About two weeks ago I was hanging out with Kai in the backyard. It
was a very warm day and I know that I don't do well in the heat and pregnancy.
My best guess is my blood pressure lowers some and my heart just has a
harder time like keeping up especially if I'm like up and about. I wasn't even up
and about. I was sitting down spraying Kai. I got up because I was starting to
feel hungry and thirsty. I ran inside to grab a snack and my hearing started to
go. Like I started to hear ringing in my ears and then my vision started getting
blotchy and I was like oh this is no good no boy no. So I start trying to make my
way back to the bedroom and I kind of fell into the door and fell onto the bed.
I was home alone with Kai so I started to panic. I got a little scared and I was
lying down and I just I was I felt like I was going to pass out. The funny thing
about this is about a week or so prior to this event I had actually taught Kai
how to contact emergency services on my cell phone should I need help and so as
my hearing is going and as my vision is going I had like a moment to think. I was
like do I call Kai in? I don't want him to come inside and find me just like
passed out. I don't really know how this is gonna go. So I called to Kai in the
backyard. I'm like Kai can you please come here? He's like no you gotta wait mom. I'm
busy watering the plants and I just thought this is how the story goes.
Ain't that something? But anyways after lying down for a few moments my hearing
started to come back and my vision started to come back and my heart rate
slowed down. I was super grateful for that but it definitely scared me and when I
called the doctor they wanted me to come in and have an EKG done. So they did just
a quick snapshot which didn't make a whole lot of sense to me because one moment in
time is only one moment in time and it's not going to tell you the whole story.
Everything looked good there. I left and then I got a phone call saying that the
doctor wanted to put a monitor on me just to have a bigger picture of what's
happening over a longer period of time. So lucky me I got to go in and have this
cute little I think it's called Zio something placed on me. It's here for
at least a week. Actually I think it only has to be here for a week because I've
had an episode since. I want to describe it as palpitations maybe not as
intense as palpitations. So if I hadn't had another episode they'd want it on
for two weeks. So I'm kind of glad I was able to replicate what I felt so I could
take this off sooner because it's very itchy and you have to modify your
showers as it's not waterproof. So basically I seem to find myself having
issue when especially after if I've moved or if I've done exercise I'm okay
but when I come to slow down and say I take a shower and I'm putting makeup on
to get ready for the day that's when the issue kicks in. It's like if I'm
standing still the blood is pooling towards my legs and my feet and all of
a sudden my heart is working a lot harder to circulate the blood in my
body. That's my best guess. Not a doctor but that's my best guess because those
have been the times where I felt it and I become really short of breath and I
can feel my heart like kick into extra high gear. So not the funnest but you
know they can't all be smooth sailing. Every time I think about my pregnancy
with Kai now I'm just like I had no idea how good I had it. I loved being
pregnant with Kai and this pregnancy has been a bit of a struggle but I'm
grateful nonetheless. So what's happening aside from all the drama at 22 to 24
weeks? I'm gonna give you guys this belly shot here. I'm technically like 24 and a
half weeks at the time of me shooting this. I am so much bigger this time. My
belly is so much bigger this time which is part of the reason why I think I'm
struggling so much earlier on. I think my lung capacity is diminished already. I
can hear myself working harder to breathe as I'm speaking to you guys and
I'm like I still have 16 weeks to go. This is gonna be fun. The kicks are
insanely strong already which is a beautiful thing. I can see this child
through my clothing now punching moving all of this. I'm getting aches, more aches
in the back, more aches in the hips. So my tip for you all is to ask your partner
for nightly massages because that is what will get you through. Actually now
that things have opened back up I'm going to go see an acupuncturist. I've
heard amazing things about having acupuncture done while pregnant. I've
never experienced it before but again I've had friends swear by it. So what
I'll do if they allow me, I would love to take the camera in and just film some of
it so you guys can kind of see the process if it's new to you and I can
report back and just let you know like what my experience was before versus
after and if I would recommend it. I think that would be fun. But anywho, that
is my quick update for you guys. If you have any questions or comments please
feel free to leave them below and I will catch you in the very next video. Thanks
so much for watching. Bye!
