(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Chelsea - Crystal Palace

A very warm welcome to Stamford Bridge as two London clubs go head-to-head, it's Chelsea versus Crystal Palace here in West London. Sabre, not because these two are flying and in blistering form. Ziyech, the better of Tarek Mitchell, oh that's quite superb. Now Clyne, here's Alise, he's enjoying his battle with Lewis Hall, Kepa under pressure, Eze's in there and Mitchell and Chelsea survive. When the ball is spinning like that I mean he's out well isn't he, smartly to block this one. Alise's made a great run, well found by de Courier, Alise! Absolutely brilliant football from Crystal Palace. Ever available the Italian in the middle of the park. Ziyech, Mount, Ziyech looking for Havertz, what a chance. Oh look at the space here for Conor Gallagher, pass, it's Lewis Hall! Gweita was in the right place, I don't think he got a touch. Another three millimetres. Eze to take, oh what a brilliant save to Denijs Schlupp. Havertz has done really well, Conor Gallagher, oh Chukwemeka was waiting to pounce, what a challenge by de Courier, Ziyech, brilliant save. Gallagher, Ziyech, 2v1 on that side, Ziyech swings it in, Havertz is there and Chelsea take the lead, well I think Palace switched off a bit, Chelsea 2v1 on that far side and it was a millimetre perfect cross for the head of Kai Havertz who gets his sixth of the season. It'll be a traditional forward Kai Havertz, well this is a classic centre forward number nine goal. However it has to be said, a stationary Sheikh de Courier who doesn't jump, I don't know why, he's got to get himself up onto the air, the ball is over Jeffrey Schlupp, high for him to deal with and Havertz up early over the Palace man from that distance, if it's wider the keeper has a great chance to score and he did. That's a reward for his persistence, he's been involved in quite a lot of decent things for Chelsea, not quite able to get the final touch, this time he makes a difference. That was too easy for Thiago Silva, Mateta's got to get himself into the game and be more effective with those challenges. Guaita, smothering stop and he's been fouled by Aubameyang. Aubameyang actually gets to the ball first, hits it onto the knees of Guaita, it's a brave stop for the from the keeper. Jorginho threaded it through to Mounts, Havertz, Edouard, Mateta battling, drilled by Doucoure, what a magnificent strike that was and a fine save from Aretha Balaga. Just what Chelsea needed after three straight defeats in all competitions.
