Family trip to Blue Springs to Swim with Manatees and Buc-ees for lunch

Good morning everybody. We're doing something different. We're going to Blue Springs. Blue Springs State Park. State Park and then we're going to go to Bucky's today. Yeah we're going to go see the manatees. They should still be in migration. So we're going to go try to see some manatees, some turtles. Allie you want to see some alligators? What? No. Crocodiles? She keeps calling the alligators crocodiles. And then we're going to go to Bucky's and have lunch. It's only like 35 minutes away from where we're going. Yeah it's we're halfway there. It's funny too because the last time I went to Bucky's she made fun of me like it was a gas station. But I was like we should go to Blue Springs. She's like no. I'm like well it's halfway to Bucky's. She's like okay. I'm not gonna argue that so let's get going. Of course we got to start the day out right with some Chick-fil-a. You guys know I love my Chick-fil-a. Are you guys getting Chick-fil-a too? All right Tanner. He's still a little tired. He was up all past midnight last night so he's just like uh. Weather was supposed to be blue skies and clear today and yeah we'll see what happens when we get out there. And we have made it. Show us the map. We're right there? Yeah. Okay. She's adorable. Hi. Yeah that's my boo. So we're at Blue Springs. Are you excited? Yes. Are you gonna swim with the manatees? I see pictures of this place where people were swimming and the manatees swam by them. So are you excited? Yeah. If I see a manatee I just want to jump in and go like I want to. Do you want to give it a hug? Don't touch it. But like do you want to give it a hug? No. All right. Don't touch the animals. You said they're way bigger than you. They are huge compared to daddy. They're the cows of the water. Let's get out there. See Tanner? Don't touch or give water. That's an interesting one. Don't give water. Yeah. You ready? All right over here I can see some water. This is a really cool place. Like there's a store over there. Gazebo. Music. People got barbecuing. Can we go in here? Yeah we can walk down here. I don't think this is where we swim. See it says no diving over here. I think there's a little beach over that way. But let's go see if we can see any of these manatees. Caution. Alligators. Don't agitate. No diving and then no swimming when manatees are in area. Doesn't look like there's any right now. But there are a lot of fish jumping in the water. It's so pretty here. There's lots of shade too. Beautiful. No alligators either yet. That's what I'm looking for. This is pretty cool. Look at this. That's awesome. He's now freaked out because we just saw some really interesting spiders. So they were like about this big but they're bright green and bright orange. So now he's all like. But look. Look at this Tanner. You're not scared of heights. I literally took you on the balloon at Disney Springs. No you're fine. He's just scared of the spiders. Allie hi. You got our map? She's got our map. I love maps. Yeah are we seeing any alligators down there? Yeah dude. What's your favorite? My favorite is my alligator right there. And here we are at the end where the spring water is coming up. So if you look really closely you can see how it's all smooth right there. That's the water pushing upwards. I just saw somebody go out free dive out or like hold their breath go all the way to the bottom come back up. Yeah that's cool. This is not where we swim. So that other place I was thinking of. But it's pretty. So all the water comes here and it flows that way. They did say we could dive here. Yeah. I love diving. This is cool. This is what photo from down there. Looks like there's a tree. And it's saying it's coming about 110 feet. And that photo here is taken right about there. I am dive certified. I'd be interested. I would be interested in doing this spot. I think diving is so awesome. Tanner do you want to be a sea diver still? No. No? No. The whole life growing up he always wanted to be a sea diver. And now suddenly. I just want to snorkel. You just want to snorkel. Yeah. Oh not scuba diving. That's okay. We'll work on that in the future. All right you guys ready to head back to the other area. Because this is not where we go swimming with this little one. Red light. Green light. Green light. All right tell us how cold it is Allie. Yeah. Oh yeah there's some fish. Yeah when we dove in Alexander Springs it was you kind of get well I was in a wet suit. But yeah. Oh they're going for it. Just went into the gift shop and we got Allie a float. We totally forgot to bring her floaty. Yeah this is only like $14. Yeah it looks huge. It should work. It should work but it's a lot of air you got to breathe. This is also if it does work be nice and fit in the truck. Oh yeah. The other one is. Okay Tanner got his own snorkel stuff. Excited? I brought mine. Of course I got my fins too. So I can go over to the spring. I'm going to go over to the spring. I got lollipop. Yeah the deep. How's that? You like it? Yeah. All right let's go tour the gift shop real quick. Check out these super adorable like for $15. Like that's Allie's size right there. That's cute. Got a small manatee for $19.50 and then this big one for $85. I haven't seen an alligator yet. Well we saw one on the way here but I haven't seen one here yet. And then of course they got some other. These are just simple hot tubes and they'll close off. And then this one has a close off on it and that's $45 as well. That's when you go underwater that closes off the water from getting into your tube. Some glasses. So if you just want to wear this and not use the tube $26. More magnets and bottle opener for $6.50. And some floaties. So $13 there. $21 for that one. It's got the string on it though so you know you can daisy chain each other. And those are $21, $25. $4.50 for the arm floaties. Water shoes. Probably should have brought my water shoes. Looks like there's a lot of trees and stuff down there. But looks like the kids are ready to go. A couple shirts. Good shirts right there. I love manatees. Still pretty early so they're on the breakfast menu but you can see $5 for all those items right there except the Uncrustable is $3.50 and the grilled cheese is $6.50. Kids menu for hot dogs and beverages. Margarita choice right there. They even have the peach one here. And Powerades $3.50. General assortment. And then the ice cream because we all love ice cream. Oh that Oreo bar looks good. Some cute shirts in there Shelly. Did you see the I love manatee shirt? It says I love manatees. Are we going to see a manatee today? Man that's kind of like a... I don't know. I think the temperature might be too warm for the manatees to be in this colder water. Oh no we'll find out. Look at cool kid over here. Show everybody your cool kid. Yeah turn around. Let me see it. Spin. All right don't spin yourself out. Looks pretty good. I think it's gonna work. How much was it? It's pretty uh impressive. All right well we're about to find out. So we're gonna kick over to the GoPro which I kind of forgot to charge so it's charging right now and uh we'll see you guys in the water. All right we're in the water. Allie how you like it? You having fun? She loves it. Tanner you love it? Just wrapped swimming up with the manatees. What? I've always wanted to check that off the list of things I couldn't wait to do while moving to Florida to swim with manatees. Now we couldn't get near them obviously because all the rules and everything but you want to know what? You want to say hi Allie? It's meltdown time. She needs her nap. Allie you want to nap? She wants to go swimming. She wants to go back. We're trying. She's really really tired. She wants to go swimming. She doesn't know what's going on. So it's time for meltdown. Sir how was it out there? What did you see? Manatees. Manatees like four of them. There was a big five of them. Sorry. There was a baby manatee just like they said three weeks old just right here. Just nobody moved in the water. They were swimming by and everything. So cool. Oh and then that big hole where all the spring water is coming up. I was watching free divers go like down at least like 30-40 feet. I went down maybe 10-ish at most. Man and all the fish everywhere. Yeah we're coming back but I want to take them to a different one. There's so many springs here in Florida. We just did Blue Springs so now we got to go do another one. Now we're going to head our way up to Bucky's and hopefully she takes a little nap on the way because she is angry. All right let's get going. There it is Bucky's. Shelly are you getting them Bucky Nugget and Beaver Nuggets? Oh maybe. Maybe? I know I'm gonna get the apple pie. The apple pie. What are you getting buddy? You know like chocolate. Oh are you talking about the chocolate pudding cup? Yeah. Oh man. Traffic getting into Bucky's here in Daytona. Always a little backed up and it's also like 1 30 right now so a little busy. Big old buggy right there. Getting the gas. That's what you do. You come to Bucky's. You get some gas. You get some food. Might get some merchandise and you might apply for a job. $17 an hour per cashier. Assistant managers $100k. I mean I love that. I love that they advertise that. I really wish we had one of these in Orlando. That being said I'd probably be broke because I'd go there all the time. All right just throw one in the back of the truck Tanner. Yeah. I love how they sell just everything here. It's the wild west of driving when it gets to the parking lot though. Look at this Tanner. Look at these huge bags of ice. A dollar. Two dollars. For one. For one yeah. What are you getting here? I don't know. You want to get a shirt? No. No okay. Shelly do you smell that? Yeah. Oh my gosh. It's so good. It smells like sugar and burger. Oh my gosh. He's busy in here. Oh my gosh. I've got my mind on my bunny and my bunny on my mind. Look at this Bucky's Easter shirts here. Shelly $17. I don't know. We might have to get one of those. Sweet and spicy. Korean barbecue. Teriyaki. Cherry maple. Pepper dried beef. All the different kinds of cheeses. Venison. Oh my gosh. Shelly just picked up the variety pack of fudge. It comes with 12 different fudge flavors in there. Are we putting it in here? In there? Okay. Thank you little Allie. She looks adorable right now. All right I'm grabbing this. Coconut pie cup Shelly. Key lime pie. Key lime pie. Which one are you gonna do? Oh cookie dough bites. Oh no. It's the old faves of candy. You want some more? The banana chips. I ate on these for like I don't know a week. They're very good. Let's see. We got the raisins. Peanut butter blast. Classic mix. See if we can get the little the bag up there. I don't know man. Every time I walk in here I'm like all right we're just gonna grab a couple things but then you walk to a wall of jerky and you're like pepper, hot and spicy, ghost pepper, lemon pepper, steakhouse pepper. What? We're catching up. That's all right there. Jerky wall. Look at that. Teriyaki. Bohemian garlic. Mesquite peppered. Yeah. Shelly you walk into Buc-ee's and you're like I'm just gonna get a couple items. Is this the Costco? This is the Costco. This is worse than Costco? Is it worse than Costco? Yes. Yeah because everything looks delicious. And you're like oh I'll just have a cup of that. Hey you just knocked over my pudding. Oops. Or your pudding. Is that one yours? We're gonna spend some money. Oh no. Oh no. I showed Tanner this and he was like put it in. Yeah he wants the sharks. We haven't even made a full lap around the store yet and we've already got half a basket full. Oh that's a lot of meat. What do you think Tanner? It smells so good in here. Smell that sugar. Cinnamon. Look at all of that right there. Just cookie dough station. More cookies and fudge. And then Shelly and Tanner and them. I think we're gonna wrap it up in here because it's getting a little crazy for Shelly and all the kids and everything. But oh look at this. Fruit cup. Fruit cup. Pineapple. There's so many selections. All right we're gonna get into all the delicious snacks. Get into it Tanner. Go. That's all whipped cream man. We want some chocolate review. Get some chocolate review in there. Oh yeah. How's those eyes? He loves it. All right I'm gonna get into mine and then we'll eat. Daddy I forgot there's brownie in there. No it's more Oreo. The banana pudding. I'm sorry guys. With the breading in it. Tell us about it shells. It's so good. Gas stations. The best worst food in the world. Right? Unless it's Bucky's then it's just the best food in the world. I spoiled myself. I got me two sandwiches. One's the chopped brisket. Oh man. Um perfect. That's all I have to say about it. It's perfect. Like the amount of barbecue sauce, meat, bread ratio. Delicious. I cannot complain. I also got the turkey. We'll get that in a minute. Oh my mom. Tanner how did you not love that? He said he didn't like the barbecue. He could be not liking it because he's full. You want to see the turkey? I love the turkey. The brisket is definitely better but I love me some turkey. Spoiled Tanner a little bit. I got him a Bucky blanket. We got him that. Allie really wanted a pop rock candy so got Allie some candy. There you go. Yep and I spoiled myself with the Easter shirt. I have the Christmas one so now I have the Easter one. Totally missed the Valentine's day. Have to get that one next year. The turkey is a bit spicy. Really? Yeah I'm not sure what they have on the turkey. Probably spices. Probably spices. Thanks Mr. Tanner. Um but um yeah definitely different. I'm not gonna say it. Turkey's delicious though. I love the way they cook the turkey. That brisket though. Just got a couple pieces left. I'm gonna let Shelly try one. You keep hugging it. It's so cute. Look at her. Look at her. Say hi Allie. It's a Bucky sipper cup. Yeah she's a Bucky sipper cup and she keeps hugging it. I had to go back inside and buy Allie a cup because she really really wanted one and then I might have bought a seven foot tall seven foot wide umbrella for the beach whenever Shelly wants to go because what do I like to do on the beach? Stay in the shade. Stay in the shade. So I bought me an umbrella. It was twenty dollars. I had the chicken burrito. Yeah? It was so good. Yeah. The brisket. How would you think of that? It was really good. Yeah the brisket. I would say the brisket. Turkey good. Brisket amazing. Yeah. I haven't done brisket chunks yet. I couldn't. I took a few bites of the burrito but I'm gonna save it for dinner. Okay and then the puddings. So good. Which one? I had coconut. Oh the banana pudding with the breading. Oh yeah I know right like it's a gas station but you'll love it. Yeah. Yeah we're gonna come back. It's wild in there. It is. We're gonna try to come back on a not weekend. It was so busy. Allie kept running off and it got a little wild in there for a moment so ready to go home? Yeah. All right we're home now. How do you feel? Good. You tired? Yes. Did you get to swim with manatees today? Well we didn't swim with them but you know. Yeah. You get to see them underwater. What do you think of snorkeling? It's good there. It's good there because whenever you go underwater you can see everything. It's like a whole new world. He didn't yell that. A whole new world under here. All right well Shelly and Allie will be inside in just a minute and we'll talk to them. What about Bucky's? Did you enjoy Bucky's? Yeah. Yeah. Well Shelly what was how was your experience? There we go. How was your experience today? It was so fun. How was Bucky's? Bucky's was just so crowded. It was very crowded but it was delicious. Yeah. Yeah. It's always fun. We need to go on a non-weekend. Also um manatees. Swim with manatees today. That was like the coolest Florida experience. Did you see the turtle? No. Swim right next to the manatees. Oh it was so cool. Yeah I was ducked under and I looked and all of a sudden there's this turtle. He was just like swimming between them. That was the coolest Florida experience that we've had so far in my opinion. Where like everybody had fun. Yeah I got to do what I like to do which is snorkel and swim around. Allie likes to swim. Tanner was like it's a whole new world. Yeah he was like kind of nervous. You know like manatees are big. There's there's alligators and stuff. When he went under the water and he came up he's like it's like a whole new world down there. So obviously we had a lot of fun and everybody was happy. Everybody was happy except Allie when we had to leave because she was like I don't want to go. But her body temperature started getting really cold and it is like 74 degree water temperature so we didn't want to keep her in there too long. She doesn't quite understand but we swam for like two hours. We didn't swim for almost two hours. We were there for a while before we swam. Oh no. Oh yeah her bucky straw that makes all the loud noises now. Oh yeah. So that's a bummer now. So now I gotta deal with that. So either way I hope you guys enjoyed today's vlog.
