Jakob (Jacob) Sommer
(Ottobeuren, 1764 - Salem, 20 May 1796)
German organist and composer. Almost his whole life is unknown but it is thought that he developed his professional life in Salem, village where he probably served as a local organist and composer. There he also took vows in 1781. As a composer, he mainly wrote religious music in Viennese style and he performed his first mass in 1788. He died in Salem in May 1796. #ClassicalMusic
