Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon. That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how I travel the world continuously.
if you made it this far then let me know in the comments below!
From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction.
You must stay at home.
The time has now come for us all to do more.
Okay like everyone else in the country I watched that yesterday
and now this is what we have to do for the next few weeks or few months.
Obviously we don't really know where it ends yet and that's the same for the whole world
but this is this is the new normal.
This is where I'm staying for now.
It's the top floor of my dad's house and I'm actually fairly fortunate.
I've got this area to work, that to do exercise and an ensuite here.
I got back a few days ago so I was already deciding to self-isolate and stay in for two weeks
just in case I caught it while I was traveling
but now obviously the whole country is doing that as well.
By the end of next week I am going to start going out and doing runs and cycling
and that's what I'm looking forward to.
The truth is that after this news we all kind of know what we have to do
and I think you can kind of get too caught up in following this constantly
and I know changes have been every day right now
so a lot of people have been glued to it including myself
but now might be the time to start thinking about what you can do to make the most of this time
and stop yourself going completely insane.
I mean me for example, I'm not going to be traveling for a while
so I've decided to start a gaming channel.
What's up everybody and welcome to the games of Jord!
God damn it!
Yeah screw you up.
Or maybe like every other influencer on the planet I'll do a fitness channel.
One thousand and twenty.
One thousand and twenty one.
I could do a lifestyle channel.
Okay guys this is my morning routine.
I double check to see if the world's still ending.
It is.
I brush my teeth.
Put on Netflix.
And that's it.
Or maybe I should just start an OnlyFans.
Yeah no one wants to see that.
Professor would you say it's time for everyone to panic?
Yes I would kid.
Okay obviously I won't be doing that.
I'm going to continue with the life of Jord, my normal channel
and obviously there's going to be some changes.
There's going to be...
I have no idea.
I think that's the thing right now.
It's been quite difficult to be motivated to make videos
because it's been so uncertain and people really don't know what's happening.
At least with this announcement yesterday saying that we do have a lockdown effectively
for the next few weeks at least,
has given a bit of clarity and uncertainty.
Ah no, certainty in a very unclear situation.
So I know at least I'm going to be here in my dad's house for the next few weeks
and I'm not going anywhere.
I imagine and I'm preparing myself for that lasting a bit longer than that
and we shall see.
But for now I'm assuming that it's going to be longer than a few weeks
and I do think travel will always be a thing.
I do think it will recover and I do think we'll be able to continue traveling again
even if it's in a slightly different way.
But for now I'm treating as if I can't go anywhere
and I'm going to continue making videos anyway.
By the way it's nice outside right now in the UK.
I think like if this had happened a few months ago
it would be a lot more bleak but it's nice outside
and so if you do have the opportunity to go out into your garden
or go for the exercise because right now we're allowed one piece of exercise per day
I would 100% make use of that
and as soon as I am over like the 10-day period I'm giving myself
where I'm not leaving the house
then I'm going to be out running training for another marathon
which you know who knows what that will be
but I'm going to train anyway and cycle where possible too.
Each obviously not all in the same day.
Crazy times.
Okay so what can you do?
And I've seen a lot of things going around right now
about how we're going to use this time to be so so productive
learn a new language, learn a new course and change your whole life in a few weeks
but I don't think you necessarily have to put that much pressure on yourself straight away.
There's also a chance to take some time out, rest
and that's what I've been doing for the past few days
playing some games and chilling and catching up with family and friends as well.
So I don't think you really need to just jump straight in
and be a different version of yourself straight away.
I think there is a chance to do a bit of rest.
I'm quite fortunate I'm still going to be continuing making videos like this.
I do still have a big backlog of videos that I never got around to editing as well.
I got a trip from Ecuador that I never put up on here
and a whole trip around Eastern Europe with my mum
where we made like five or six videos and I never shared it.
So I'm going to go back and edit them
and also continue making some other videos about
what the situation is like in England as it changes.
I'd love to hear from you guys as well how you're dealing with
self-isolation in your home country or wherever you are right now
and I'd also say if you're not practicing self-isolation yet
and your government hasn't told you that you have to
don't wait until the government tells you to make the right choice.
Even if you're someone that's not affected yet
you can see what's happening everywhere else
and you can show no symptoms for 10 days.
So just imagine that person that you may meet and interact with
while you're not practicing it may then go and speak to 10 other people
go and interact with 10 other people
and if you can be the break in that chain
then you have the opportunity to potentially save lives.
So just don't wait to be told to do self-isolation.
We got a chance right now to slow down this thing
so just go and do it anyway.
This will pass eventually so just make the most of this time.
That's the way I'm looking at it and yeah
I've got some more videos coming.
You having a rotten day?
You having a hopeless day?
This too shall pass.
You having a great day?
You feel on top of the world?
This too shall pass.
It's it evens out.
Life is a big bell curve.
No matter how dark.
No matter how wonderful.
This too shall pass.
By the way I just want to give a shout out to Dr Hope's sick notes.
I've been watching his videos for the past few days
and he's a what do you call it?
A young doctor?
A training doctor?
Junior doctor.
He's a junior doctor working in the NHS in the UK right now
and he's doing daily vlogs showing what it's like working right now
giving the best advice
telling you what it's like inside the hospitals
and what the NHS are doing
and honestly like it's quite calming in a way
and fair play to this guy for working all day double shifts
and then filming a video
and then also editing it and getting it out
so I don't know the dude
never spoken to him
but go check it out
