And it's the cap on the bump for
the green and gold for the first
time in twenty twenty three
James Caprillion taking the ball
for the maiden voyage of this
twenty twenty three campaign.
So Steven Kwan steps to the
plate and we are set for
baseball line drive at a base
hit left field near the line
racing over Seth Brown cuts it
off Kwan racing for second base
he'll go in with a lead off
double.
That's his second double on the
young season.
Well that home bed feels really
good.
And he was not going to stop for
a single he just continued to go
right on to second base.
So good a bad for Jose Ramirez.
He hasn't even gotten locked in
yet.
Drawing walks and still doing
enough to make his presence
felt.
Josh Naylor lines up the middle
in the center field a base hit.
Here comes Steven Kwan with the
game's first run and the
Guardians will play from in
front as Josh Naylor drives home
his third run on the year.
And here is Andres Jimenez.
He has a hit in three straight
games coming in.
Get on the line it's a fair ball
that's going to score Jose
Ramirez Josh Naylor on his way
to third he'll stop there.
It's a two out RBI double for
Andres Jimenez and it's two to
nothing Guardians.
What we say the other day this
guy with two outs is a tough
out.
He was one of the best clutch
hitters last year all year long
and he gets a breaking ball he
goes down and keeps it fair.
It looked like it got chalk.
Well Zach Plesek has to feel
good about two runs in that
first inning as he can go out
and throw the rubber for his
first start of the season.
Hit hard but Naylor reaches out
step to his right he's got it
out.
Three two pitches inside and
it's a one hour walk.
First pitch to Seth Brown is hit
high in the air shallow left
center who's going to catch it.
It's going to be nobody somehow
and I mean somehow that ball
dropped and when it went up
Dallas I saw it more toward left
center but the wind is is going
left to right and it looked to
me like the wind really took it.
So Connor Capel with a chance to
knock in a run it goes as a hit
for Brown he'll take it.
Backhanded knock down to Jimenez
made a nice play.
If he feels it clean he's got a
shot but he did not quite come
up with it clean.
It's going to be an RBI hit in
the air on the board and Ryan
Noda leads off for Oakland.
Noda was a rule five pick out of
the Dodgers organization base
hit Ryan Noda first big league
hit.
It's a line drive.
Nice job Ryan Noda.
Congratulations.
Well now now we know it's
official.
That's right.
Authentic authentic in the hole
off the glove of a diving
Rosario and look at the hustle
by Noda.
Excellent base running and he
goes all the way around to
third.
Asturi Ruiz he reached safely in
all three games against the
Angels.
This guy can really fly line
drive.
Noda scores Langel airs he's
digging for third and they'll
hold him up.
Ruiz picks up his first RBI of
the year and this ballgame is
tied.
Well I don't think that it's by
mistake that you see the bottom
part of this lineup start to do
a little damage here fastball up
out over the plate.
Ruiz puts a great swing on it
with his speed.
You know it's going to be more
than 90 feet.
Tony Kemp grounded out his first
time up Kemp with a line drive
and that's a base hit.
Langel airs scores Ruiz stops
another RBI hit.
This one belongs to Tony Kemp
and the A's have the lead three
to two guys.
We can talk about frustration
with Zach.
Right now it's about location
from over here.
It looks like everything is down
the middle.
I mentioned that Peterson when
he was with the Brewers his
nickname was on base Jase.
I mean right now he's got a
chance to really put Zach
Plesek back on his heels and
another one to Peterson.
It's in the air right center
field and it's hit well.
That's a three run shot for Jase
Peterson.
He was putting up a good at
bat and then he finally got
something he could handle.
The boy he put a swing on it and
got it out of here.
And it seems like it may be
blown a little bit that way.
But that is the last pitch at
Zach will throw tonight.
Guardians trailing six to two as
we hit the fourth inning here in
Oakland.
I'll try and get something done
here against the starter James
Caprillion.
He goes to work on Josh Naylor
and Naylor hits one high and
deep to right.
This one is into the seats.
Home run Josh Naylor his second
on the season.
Guardians cut into that lead.
It's now six to three Oakland as
Naylor's two for two a single
and now a home run.
One swing you get a run on the
board.
Let's go.
Now you cut it in half.
So three hits in the inning now
and they are starting to mount a
comeback.
Miles Straw to the plate fly to
center is only time up.
Miles Straw with a base hit left
field that's going to get down.
Scoring is Jimenez.
Here comes Will Brennan.
Sarbanes going to wave him home.
There will be no throw.
Miles Straw delivers with a two
run double and it's a one run
game here in Oakland.
Oh he did him a favor.
He hung a breaking ball and
Miles turned on it and hit it
and got it to the wall.
So that scores Brennan from
first and a pair of RBI eyes.
And that's just what the doctor
ordered a hanging slider inside
part of the plate.
Gable an RBI single in a
strikeout.
Bunnett and it's a beauty
Ramirez on the bare hand and
it's not in time.
Gable who runs extremely well
once he got it down you could
tell he had a pretty good chance
to beat it out.
I love it.
So here's Ramone.
Drive to run shot eight to five
A's second home run of the year
for Ramone kind of a high line
drive number two on the year for
the A's number two on the year
for the laser.
Now if you can get one or two of
those runs home here with one
out lot of ball game left now
Steven Kwan Kwan waits here's
the pitch to him swung on
lifted to left round going back
and over now coming in toward
the line to make the catch
Zunino tagging in the front of
the plate is going to die and
it's not in time and a sacrifice
to left by Steven Kwan scoring
Zunino with Will Brennan at
second who has he's got good
speed a two out hit from Ahmed
Rosario and you've got yourself
a one run game like that base
hit center field around third
Will Brennan will score and we
do indeed have ourselves a one
run game.
There you go.
So they take advantage of that
error and the miss not turn
double play on a nice two out
base hit and Ahmed needed that
as a big two out hit there for
Ahmed.
Here's Seth Brown Brown hits it
hard toward the middle Rosario's
their throw is wide way wide
Brown's going to try for second
he's digging that way and he'll
make it with a head first slide
and now Ramone Laureano now the
three one offering right field
base hit they're going to wave
him home Brennan's throw to the
plate and it's in time.
They got a full.
What a gun by Will Brennan that
ends the seventh that keeps
Cleveland in the ballgame.
Oakland's lead remains at one.
But you have them at the
corners and you got the middle
of the lineup coming up.
Left field Brown makes the catch
tagging coming home is strong.
The throw goes to the pitcher's
mound and we got a brand new
ball game at eight eight as a
Ben Rosario has his second run
batted in of the night.
Jose Ramirez coming to the plate
they get six hits and Kwan.
Oh my goodness the ball got by
Capel and Kwan's going to come
around and score the go ahead
run.
Ramirez on his way to third.
Are you kidding me.
That is one where you get
there's not much you could do.
It's going to be a base hit and
he overran the baseball.
Connor Capel who began his
professional career with
Cleveland would like to dig a
hole and hide.
Yeah he's had a tough night.
Popped up near the line.
It's going to be caught.
Here comes Ramirez.
Here's the throw it's in time
but then he tagged him.
No he did not.
Ramirez is safe with a
daring dash from third and it's
ten to eight Cleveland.
By Oman Manuel Closset last
year a one point three six
Zara forty two saves three
pitch not close he walked in
Seth Brown is one for four
single.
He has also reached on an air
so he's been a board a couple of
times.
Drive to center straw bag babies
gone.
He's going to be a no doubter
for Seth Brown against one of
the game's best closers to tie
this game with two outs in the
bottom of the ninth inning.
First and third nobody out
tenth inning.
Now Ramirez in this moment as
tough as they come in this
situation and a base hit
rightfield by Ramirez.
Guardians take the lead and all
the way to third goes Ahmed
Jose Ramirez.
He was down to the count O2 but
he comes back and delivers to
put the Guardians back on top.
First Tony with a tying run with
excellent speed at second base
pop the left Kwan the Fremont
native makes the catch bucket.
The Guardians take the opener in
dramatic fashion holding on for
a one run win.
