Travel has changed my life and I have no plans on stopping any time soon. That's why I am now running this video blog showing you how I travel the world continuously.
No idea where we are now. We've come up this like dirt track. It doesn't seem like the right way but
good morning guys. Welcome back to Bali. We've been staying in Canggu for the past week but today
we're getting out and we're going to explore a different part of Bali. I'm going to show you
more as the videos are long but that's what I want to do in these videos. I want to try and show you
some more alternative places to see, some other things to do rather than just about the Canggu
and Seminyak area. So today we're getting out and you'll see as it goes along. Home sweet home right?
Nice. Okay so we did get a bike. This one is ours and it was 800,000 for the month. The thing is when
you have a bike and you want to go on like a day trip or a two-day trip, if you have a bag
it means I can't wear it and Olivia becomes the porter. So it won't go on the back of my
back while Olivia's there so she wears it on the back of her back. Thank you. Let's go.
We just got through Denpasar and funnily enough this is the first day it's happened but
it's just started raining. We're in rainy season right now and honestly for the last week it hasn't
rained at all. Every day's been beautiful and today it's just started raining but we're just pulling
over for a bit and we're going to carry on. We just need to wait out the rain a little bit. I don't
think it's going to last very long. What have you got? A huge pizza slice. Nice authentic Indonesian pizza.
Yeah. Yeah from the mall. Looks all right. All right well it's pretty much kind of almost stopped so we're
Guys if it's going to rain leave your helmet like that and not like that. I always do this.
All right let's go.
It's about half an hour later and we've been biking up the coast and I've decided to take a quick
detour to somewhere I wanted to show Olivia and I don't know, where is she? Yeah so this is a place
that I came to maybe three and a half years ago when like in my very first week as trying to be a
digital nomad, be a YouTuber. I came here and worked from here and anyway it really inspired me and now
I want to show you it as well. Okay. Yeah let's go. So you'll see anyway. Go upstairs and then I'll film you.
Okay. I can't figure out from here.
Yeah so it's like a panoramic view restaurant.
What do you think? This is awesome. It's sort of like a panoramic view bar
and yeah I came here I don't know if any of you guys have been watching my videos since then but
let me know below if you have because that feels like a long time ago but I came here and just
worked from here and just got an iced tea I think because at the time I was a complete backpacker
and didn't feel like I could afford like the food or anything else so it's nice to come back here.
In reality it's actually not even that expensive. It's like 60,000 rupiah for a main meal so it's
like three pounds. I probably could have afforded it but I was trying to be complete complete cheap
bastard. No I was trying to make like as much the money last as long as it possibly could
and now it feels like a nice time to be able to reward ourselves with a nice meal
on the way to Ahmed. And also as we came in we got this voucher so it's a nice surprise.
Wait, magic trick.
Okay guys we just ordered food but this is exactly what you don't want to do
if you rent a bike for a month. Look, oh idiot.
I've got you. Check it out guys, the rare barley monitor lizard. This week on Dinner Steal.
Okay so we're not massively hungry so we just went for these little things but
it looks really nice and it actually wasn't that bad. Bon appétit. Selamat makan.
Happy appetite. Let's eat. Yeah that was great. Just nice to go back and stop off on the way to
Ahmed. There's also a little beach here that we can quickly go see. It's kind of hidden.
Not that many people stay here or go here so we're going to go check it out.
Yeah this is it. It's called Blue Lagoon Beach and as you can see there's hardly anyone here
so if you can be bothered to make the trek out to here you pretty much get a beach to yourself.
I can count about six tourists and you have the whole beach just pretty much for you. Nice.
Yeah cool beach and now we're going off to Ahmed. I'm getting a little bit burnt by the way so I'm
now wearing Olivia's shirt like this which will also be part of my barley lookbook. Let's go.
Don't jump up yet, you'll make it. Oh my god that's crazy. It leads nowhere.
It leads nowhere. Yeah we were following google maps and no idea where we are now. We've come up
this like dirt track. It doesn't seem like the right way but apparently it is so we're going
to try and keep going. We're just letting the bike cool because it was overheating
and yeah let's see where we end up.
Yeah google maps said this is right it's not right. Well it turned into a dirt track but we
did get a very nice view at the top of it. Unfortunately it's definitely not the right
way and it's really unlikely we're going to make it to Ahmed now before sunset. We need to go on
and it started raining, pouring actually. Great we're definitely in the wrong place.
I need to stop the video right there and tell you about something. Obviously we did make it out of
that situation alive and we'll get back to that in a second. The thing I need to tell you about
is Skillshare. As a lot of you know I have been doing this for the last few years traveling around
making videos and taking photos and the truth is that I didn't know how to do any of that
just over three years ago. I never even owned a DSLR until three years ago
and I've completely taught myself learning from online tutorials. I've watched hundreds of videos
and read tutorials and through trial and error and just using the internet have learned how to do
and make these kinds of videos and now Skillshare is an online service, an online video
tutorial platform that has thousands of classes in absolutely anything you want to learn. So if
you want to learn videography, you want to learn photography, business, marketing, absolutely
anything you desire they have online tutorials for it. So go check it out, go have a look at
the website and if you are interested in signing up to Skillshare then you can get two months
completely for free using the link in the description below. Honestly like I said that's
how I've learned and if you want to do something like this or anything at all that's a fantastic
way to learn. Go and watch videos and then through trial and error teach yourself. It's a fantastic
website, go and have a look and then let me know what you think below. Go click that link, sign up
for two months free trial for the first 500 people to click it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the
video and let's get back to it. We made it to Ahmed and luckily we got here in pretty good time
actually. It's about five now so we have time to get down for the sunset. Guess what? This was kind
of unintentional but I'm staying in the exact same, perfect timing, staying in the exact same place
that I stayed the only time I've been here which was about four years ago. It's kind of like a
reminiscing trip showing Olivia places that I know and yeah we were just like driving along
trying to look for a place and thought why not? I know this is good and it's cheap as well.
In the morning you can see Agung here, you can see a bit of it just there.
I'm really looking forward to that. We're going to head down to the beach for sunset now.
That's a good shot. This is Ahmed. It's a volcanic black sand beach here and actually that's
Mount Agung just there which is really cool. It gives the beach such a nice backdrop.
It's actually kind of famous for diving. I think there's a few good wreck dives here that I haven't
done myself because I'm not a massive diver. I've actually only been once when I was younger.
I do need to give it a second chance but I really haven't done in the last couple of years.
Maybe that's something I can do while here but as I said I can't comment on that myself but I've
been told there's some good dives here. The reason I came here is because it's a really chilled beach
that I wanted to show to Olivia. Having Mount Agung there gives this such a nice backdrop
and we're definitely going to wake up for sunrise, come down here and hopefully it'll be clear and
we'll get a really good view of it. Right now we're just going to see the sunset and grab some food.
First impressions? It's so quiet and chill and I'm sleepy. A long day on the drive? Yeah, a long drive.
Do you think you'll like Ahmed? Yes, it's super chill and nice and quiet and I can't wait to see
Mount Agung. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get a view of it. There it is but let's see.
Guys it's 5 30 a.m and it's just sunrise here in Ahmed. We came up here for the viewpoint. Look at
that! That's exactly what I wanted coming here. You've got the view of Agung over Ahmed and we're
going to go for a swim down there in a second. We just wanted to get up here first and see that.
Found a spot. Okay guys, this is exactly what I wanted. Look at that! Agung in the distance.
Sunrise. This is great. I think you can hear a bit of a generator in the background
so the audio is off. That's why but like this is actually beautiful.
That's great. Now I'm swimming with my ATD right now so I probably need to put that back.
It's really nice temperature actually.
That is Ahmed done for now. I have a feeling like I'll be back again another time but for
now it's just one night. We have one more place that we want to show you on the way back to Canggu.
This is Terter Lampuyang and there's one reason it's really famous. Look, I mean this is great
anyway. Look at that. It's really cool but there's also this gate with a view through it to Mount
Agung. I think if you've seen photos of Bali you may well have seen that photo straight through
there. I'll show you in a second. Honestly this is pretty cool. There's this famous photo spot for
a reason but I think you have to come here earlier on because as it gets later the clouds cover Mount
Agung which you can see straight through there. I think I've said Mount Agung a lot in this video.
Yeah, you have to be here in the morning but the nice thing about being here in the morning as well
is that there's pretty much no one around. I think since we've been here there's been about
10 tourists. I imagine it will get more popular in the future but right now there's really not
that many people here. This is just the first temple by the way and there's a series of like
five temples here with 2,700 steps and it will take about three to four hours to do all of them.
We're just doing the first one today because we need to get back onto Canggu. We only really had
like a day and a half to do this but if you wanted to come here and do the rest of them
I'm sure they'd be impressive as well. Right now I hope I showed you a bit of it and we're heading
back to Canggu. I'm going to be honest with you guys that is a bit of a long drive to go all the
way back here and it was a long drive yesterday as well so while you can do it from here I'd
recommend either spending longer up there discovering more of the northeast of Bali
or if you're based in somewhere like Ubud it would be a much shorter drive to Padangbai
and then on from there. If you enjoyed this video then please let me know below
and turn on the notifications because I'll be back again next week exactly the same time with
the next video from Bali and from Indonesia as well as we look to explore more places
off the beaten path. For now I'll just say again thank you guys for watching and this is my life.
