Winecap mushrooms are so easy to inoculate in woodchips. Who knew? Watching the mycellium grow and aggresively take over is a thing of beauty. I am beyond excited.

What's the verdict? Winecap mushroom confirmation? Where are my mushroom experts? Looks right to me. I'm in no rush of course. Holding off for now. Seems like the hardest part about growing mushrooms is actually getting the courage to eat them! At least now I know how they got there. Assuming this is indeed the mycelium I planted. Can you imagine receiving the wrong mushroom mycelium from a grower only to find out that it looks totally different months to years later. Happens all the time in the fruit tree world.
