The Lakers are hoping to head directly to the playoffs following Tuesday night's play-in game.
Even tipped off the game inside Crypto.com arena tomorrow night against those Minnesota
Timberwolves, but let's talk about the Lakers and practicing today.
They had an opportunity to put in their final preparation ahead of the tip-off tomorrow
night against Minnesota, and you'll see things look pretty loose.
LeBron and the rest of the guys getting up some shots.
You'll see Anthony Davis in good spirits, even flashing a smile from the big fella,
D'Angelo Russell, working over on a separate court later on in the session, getting in
some individual skill.
All of these players expected to play a major role in helping LA make a run for another
title, but back to the missing guys from Minnesota.
You were talking about what does it mean for the Lakers prep, knowing the Teewolves won't
have Gobert or McDaniels.
It's all about us.
I repeat, it's not like a business, you know, so unfortunate situation, but you know, we
got to prepare for us to be the best version of ourselves and make sure we come out right
with the right energy, the right urgency, the right effort, and be the most competitive
together team for 48 minutes.
I'm assuming Catwell started the fog.
Probably a little bit better offensively, just as far as spacing.
So it's a different, you know, challenge for us.
We haven't seen that this year.
An additional storyline for the game is the fact that three players, D'Angelo Russell,
Malik Beasley, and Jared Vanderbilt, all get a shot at beating the team that traded them
to Los Angeles two months ago.
You know, scripted any better.
You know, we get to compete against a team that we spent time at, and being able to not
only advance, but knock them off as well, like, you know, it can't be scripted any better.
All three of those guys, Kyle, by the way, D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, McDaniel
as well, Vanderbilt, excuse me.
All three of those guys, by the way, played in the playing game with Minnesota last season
against another L.A. team, the Clippers.
They won that game, and who did they move on to face in a seven-game series?
The number two Memphis Grizzlies.
Maybe a little bit of foreshadowing.
Reporting from outside the Lakers facility here in El Segundo, Mark Rogandino, Fox 11
