Road trip day three and it was off to a bad start with the 80mph winds in Gatlinburg! Fortunately the town had loads more to do and it made up for the bad weather. From Nashville to Memphis, this whole stretch of the Deep South trip was incredible!

Good morning! We are in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
And can you hear that wind?
We were meant to go on a hike this morning to the National Park.
Wow! The wind is not playing ball.
That's a big warning.
We can't go up because there's 80 mile per hour winds and we're likely to get hit by a tree.
So instead, we're making the best of the day.
Whoa!
I caught that.
Whoa!
There are branches falling.
Genuinely, about five feet from Meg's head.
Oh my God! My camera bag was hit by a tree!
Drama!
Everyone is losing their ---- right now.
I'm losing my ----.
I'm scared!
I can only imagine the titles.
YouTubers get hit by trees.
Caught in a storm.
Oh, there's a little one in the front.
Tree in the road.
Drama, drama.
We are literally stuck.
We're having to turn around.
Check it out.
We've had to change our plans.
I don't even know if you can hear me.
It's crazy.
We should have picked something inside instead.
We're sheltering ourselves from the storm right now.
Come to a little place to get some coffees and chill out.
And basically hide from the falling trees.
We're in a mirror maze right now.
This is one of the things we're doing to hide from the storm.
And it is very confusing.
I've never done this before.
Where do I go?
Okay.
That's crazy.
What's the difference?
Here we go, getting a bit of go-karting in the mix.
Here we go.
Karting just finished and that was really fun.
Completely unexpected.
We just had a different plan.
It's really windy.
Look at this.
So we've just come to a place called Moonshine Brewery.
It's Old Smoky Moonshine.
And apparently this is a famous export of this area.
They have all sorts of different flavours.
That one's a coffee one.
There's apple pie.
There's blue stormy, whatever that is.
I'm going to try a few of them and see what it's like.
So this is a 65% moonshine.
Bottoms up.
This is 80 proof, 40%.
Wow.
I did not expect this today.
Shot number 347.
It's going well.
Shot 512.
I'm just messing with you about the numbers there.
We are about halfway through.
And there's still 8 more to go.
Cara is already slurring.
And Danny's pretty much gone.
Their tiny cups is fine, but they're all really tasty.
This is the last one.
I'm genuinely not as seen as drunk I am.
Danny's going to go again.
No, I'm not.
This morning we're at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
It's a museum here.
And there are famous artists that came from Nashville.
I don't know if you guys know, but I'm going to educate you.
Christabel's here.
Have you got facts?
Hi.
You say all these really cool, informative facts.
It seems like you're reading the news.
I don't know anything yet.
I don't know what to say.
But once we go in, I'll get taught something.
And then I'll say it as if I knew it.
Yes, I like it.
We just entered the Taylor Swift Education Centre.
And I get it.
I get it that Taylor Swift should have an education centre.
But I think Beyonce should have had it first.
I'm really happy for you.
I'm going to let you finish.
This here is Elvis Presley's car made of solid gold.
So Nashville is known as the home of country music.
And some artists that you would have heard of that recorded and came from here,
people like Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan,
helped to shape music into what it is today.
And that's why they have the Hall of Fame here to celebrate that.
Of course, there are so many more country music artists than that,
that I just, I don't know.
There's tributes here to all sorts of people,
but I've never been big on the country music scene.
But this would be massively interesting for someone that is into that.
That's my co-writer.
I'm a songwriter.
So you've got to put up with me for about an hour.
Are we writing a song with you?
Well, we weren't going to.
We'd love to do that.
That would be the coolest thing ever.
So we've just arrived to a songwriting publishing house.
Obviously Nashville is really famous for its music,
and we're about to write and then record a song.
So we've got a professional songwriter here with us.
We're going to write the song,
and then hopefully try and put something audible together.
Deal on this.
This is exactly how we start writing a song.
The first thing that we do is we say,
well, what kind of mood?
Like if I'm writing with one or two other people,
it's like, well, what mood are we in today?
So then we kind of noodle around on the guitar,
or on the piano, or whatever.
And so we've already established what our hook is,
and it's, where's Christabel?
I like songs that come from a real place,
and so apparently that's what we're going for.
Very real.
So where did we lose Christabel?
Where has she been?
We stopped to use the restroom
Just outside Fort Payne
Fired up the tour bus
About to pull away
To head up to the mountains
Intending to repel
We heard a flush
She came in a rush
It was Christabel
Lost her in Alabama
Lost her in Tennessee
Lost her in the bottom of a shot glass
At the moonshine distillery
Everyone else is accounted for
Everybody's here, but what the hell?
Head count's only, always only one tonight
Where's Christabel?
Everybody get into character already!
When Elvis would record in the studio,
it was almost always on Sundays,
nearly always in the evenings,
he'd have the band show up
and they'd work on what music
they were going to do that night,
and then Elvis would get here,
sit down at this piano,
and play gospel music.
So we are now in Studio B,
where I've just been told
half of Elvis' songs were recorded,
about 240 of his songs were recorded here,
and now we are going to be singing his songs.
Wise men say
Don't be shy, come closer
Only fools rush in
Okay, let's do this.
So this piano has been here
since this studio opened.
Elvis played this,
and now I'm going to attempt to.
No, I'm playing.
I'm kidding.
I don't know.
Are you actually going to put some in the air?
We're going to find out where it is
and come and see.
What?
This is now us singing to us.
I'm back in my natural habitat now,
and we're staying in a hostel for the night,
but we're about to head straight out
and go out to Nashville.
It's one of the main places around here
for live music,
and I've heard so much about it
that we could not be here
without at least going out for one drink.
It is the morning after the night before.
I went out in Nashville last night,
experienced a real slice of nightlife there,
and now we are in Memphis, Tennessee.
We're about to go into the Graceland Museum
and check out everything Elvis.
Well, that was really interesting,
and what's nice is that I would never come
and see this place by myself,
but because I'm on this trip
and because we're doing a road trip
between lots of different places,
it's given a good chance to experience Graceland.
Now, I've got a little bit of a surprise,
and it was a surprise for me too.
Whoa, I'm dark.
But speaking of music,
let me fast forward to tonight.
Hey, dude, can I have a joke, please?
What do you call a fake noodle?
I don't know.
We have backstage passes for Kings of Leon
in the Beale Street Music Festival.
Up to you.
Man, how awesome was that?
Completely unexpected.
I had no idea about that before this trip started,
but that was amazing.
I'm going to call it a night there.
Again, thanks for watching,
and this is my life.
