'We let OURSELVES DOWN! We let the FANS DOWN!' | Erik ten Hag | Sevilla 3-0 Man Utd (Agg 5-2)

Samuel Erik clearly not a good performance not a good result Since the shadows and the players you had to bring Is this the way of losing that there are some players who are not good enough for this team I think they have shown in the past that they can but tonight weren't good enough That was clear that was clear So we didn't experience the standards which you can expect I know it's easy to focus on David de Gea but the way he has conceded his goals and the fact that he is in the language for a new contract Can you clearly say that he is a long-term goalkeeper that you want to move forward He is the man with the cleanest records in the Premier League which shows that he is an extremely capable goalkeeper What's the most annoying thing about a real fight and the fact that Sevilla was just more on it than your team I have to admit it it's the truth it's hard it's really hard but it is the truth and it cannot be and it is unknown But I think we have shown in the past that we can really rebuild quickly We have done it many times with players this season But what we need to learn is to start players better with more intention and pressure more composition on the ball And if you get a setback you must maintain it and keep going Is that a sign of a team that still has a lot to learn a lot to do that you can go from the great high points you've had Are we going to real big teams like Liverpool and like tonight Yes it's the truth that we need to better And it's not about playing opportunities no it's about character and therefore composed of desire and passion and they wanted to win more And it cannot be and I think it is unknown Erik is this the only chance that this could have a real impact on the rest of the season The way the floor was built and what it was building momentum for this I have been thinking about this question a lot lately after the city after Liverpool In Brentford we always rebuild and therefore from that perspective this team has character So we have very good mental skills but at certain given moments we are not there and that is what I think we now have to accept is unacceptable because anyone ca See that the needs and standards must be higher in a club like Manchester United Hi Erik is it a big task to get them into the FA Cup semi-final Again Is it a big task to get the players to the semifinals now Yes of course I've already started but we need to pick them up and we have to pick them up But we also have to experience that we let ourselves be hit and we let the fans be hit If you want to win trophies and be successful you need other characters Erik why do you think there's such a big difference between the home form and the away form Sunday we can do it we saw Forrest and then were composed We had the intention and today we did not do it You can expect a player from Manchester United from the Manchester United team to perform consistently Now it's too often that we have a real bad performance and it can't be Last question in Spanish Is the intensity of Seville the most important part of this game do you think Does the team of Mendilibar seem like the favorite to win the Europa League First I have to congratulate Sevilla on their performance It's true they played very well but I'm looking at my own team and I think we should do better and even they are a great team a great fighting spirit The atmosphere was also great with a lot of positive energy in the stadium but it doesn't matter We must master it we must do better and everyone can expect higher standards from Manchester United Very much thanks
