The marriage of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon - Tudor Society talk and Q&A session with Claire

Hi, on Friday the 11th of June I'm doing a Facebook live talk in the Tudor Society private Members Only Facebook group. I do these every month and this month's topic is the marriage of King Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon. I'm going to start the talk by giving a brief biography of the bride and groom, covering their background and early life. Then I'm going to look at how they actually got together, their initial betrothal. Then moving on to Henry's breakup with Catherine the night before their scheduled marriage and their subsequent marriage when Henry VIII came to the throne in 1509. I'll then look at their marriage from 1509 to Henry's decision to ask for an annulment in the 1520s. What was their marriage like? Was it happy? What about Catherine's pregnancies and Henry VIII's illegitimate son? I'm really looking forward to exploring their marriage and after my talk I'm going to do a Q&A session with Tudor Society members and we can also discuss the subject and perhaps talk about books on Catherine and Henry as well and share recommendations.
