The Best Airport In The World

Good morning. I've just finished my breakfast. It's about eight in the morning and now I need to find some transport to the airport because today I'm heading to the Philippines but it's going to be a long day. My flight leaves at 10 30 but I don't get into the Philippines until 9 30 tonight. It's because I have to go via Singapore because that was about $200 cheaper than going direct to Philippines. Seems crazy but that's just how it worked out. We have Tiger Air which is another budget one. So yeah I'm gonna head to the airport now. Thank you very much. Yeah thank you. So I just got a motorbike taxi here and I paid him pretty much what I had left which is 50,000. It's a really good price for him. Usually you can get them for about 10. 50,000 is like $3.50 and 10,000 is I don't know 80 cents but it doesn't matter. I'm not gonna spend it now so it's a good trade for him. Anyway I'm at the airport now so I'm gonna go check in and be in the long journey to Manila. All right so just checked in. I've got a couple of hours to kill now so I'm just gonna get through to the other side and work out the laptop. For the two flights from here to Manila including baggage and including departure tax was 120 US dollars which is really cheap. It's with Tiger Air which is like another budget airline like Ryanair or like AirAsia and yeah we'll get to Manila for 120 dollars. Oh look at that, a free welfare. All right so just been editing here for the last half an hour and you know I need to get on the plane in about 10 minutes so I guess I'd better get going. Look at this, pretty much in the whole flight I'm the only one with two spare seats so I can spread out and I get a window seat. All right so I'm in Singapore but I've just been told I need to go out and come back in again so I need to go through immigration so I can check in and then come back into Changi Airport and get my flight. And back to departures. 1750 to Manila. Check in row 11. This way. Hi I have a flight at 1750 to Manila. Can I check in early? Yeah. Okay great thanks. Hey a bit of a problem then. For anyone looking to go to Philippines you need proof of onward journey so I didn't have it. I didn't have the proof for my flight out on me so I just had to connect to the wi-fi which took about 15 minutes and then show them my flight which I have on from Manila. So yeah word of warning bring that with you. All right I'm now back through the other side. I've got about four hours here but Changi's meant to be one of the best airports in the world so let's go see what there is to do. Check out the sunflower garden. Well it's exactly what they said it is. It's a sunflower garden. They have a movie theater. Nice free wi-fi. Check it out. Free ps3. Street fighter 4. Yeah this place is really cool. Pretty much got everything to keep you from being bored but right now I'm gonna go find some food and see what I got for food actually. I don't know what I'm gonna eat. Let's go explore the food. Got three sauces. Right well it seems like there's loads of awesome things to do here at the airport so I wouldn't even be bored if I wanted to be bored but I'm gonna use these last few hours to get on the laptop somewhere, use the free wi-fi and do some work. Right I completely forgot to book a hostel so I've just booked one now. I just literally searched for 10 minutes and booked one. Usually I do it on three things. The rating on whatever site it is, so what people have scored it, the price, go for one of the cheapest ones and how easy it is to get to from the airport. I'm not going to get there till about 10 tonight. I've never been to Manila before so it'd be a nightmare if I can't find it so I found one that I think's pretty close, easy to get to, looks good and not too expensive. And the other really useful thing you can do before going somewhere, if you have a smartphone anyway, is save a map to be offline so I can literally download the whole of Manila. I'll save as Manila and then when I get there I can just search it. Easy. Time to go. Okay I'm running a bit late and I know I wouldn't have time to upload the video so I'll just put it on my phone and it's uploading on the wi-fi while I walk. Okay it's boarding now and it's gate E2 which is up to 17 minutes walk away so I need to be quick. Well there's no one here and yet again Awesome. This is an awesome city it's coming to at night. Look at that. And I'm in Manila. So now I've just got to get through customs, grab my bag and then go find the hostel.
