Malmö is a very important city in Sweden in fact it is the third largest city
It is also one of the most beautiful cities in the country after Stockholm and Gothenburg
visited And one of the main reasons it has grown so much infrastructure
Because it's popular for tourism as it's very close to Denmark meaning it's right next to it
There is a bridge they built the famous Øresund Bridge
With its impressive span it connects the two countries in just 30 minutes and is
Attached to the city of Copenhagen it has made many people who are visiting feel something
Copenhagen and has a free day because I crossed over to this side visited it and such to do
as a day trip
In fact the city of Malmö has grown so much in recent years that it is now very distinct
what is the old part the historical quarter of the more modern part where there are eve
The skyscraper the largest skyscraper in all of Sweden is here There are a lot of them
Large companies that also have a branch here but still maintain a lot of their own
ancient essence picturesque and where I am now If you remember that in Stockholm the part
What I liked most was the part of Gamla Stan which was the old town because here too
It has its own Gamla Stan or its Gamla Staden which is like the old town
It includes all the area around the train station and the bus station
And now I'm at a point that's precious I mean you've been seeing a bit there
The streets there is a street here called Jakob Nilsgatan but well
In general the best thing is to get lost in these streets because they are little streets that seem like a maze
Small towns are streets full of little houses in colors
This entire area of the old town originated in 1250 and it's amazing how beautiful it is
They are keeping it not having removed it to put down more common asphalt or whatever it is but rather
They have tried to keep that picturesque part that characterizes him
I have just arrived at a small square called Lilla Torget which is something like a town square
Small plaza Stortorget is the main square for that would be the smaller square and it is a square
Also very picturesque it is surrounded by merchant houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries
XVIII and the truth is it's
super cozy there are some souvenir shops food etc
Especially there are plenty of restaurant areas bars and places to grab a drink
Now well with the cool weather that's not very pleasant but here I imagine if you come
Summer must be a delight to sit on any of these terraces and watch the people go by
Time and the atmosphere that will be created
If you get a bit lost among the streets you'll end up in places like this which is the farm the
Antigua granja de Hetmanska which is a farm built in 1590 when all this
part of Malmö and the country in general was mainly engaged in agriculture
And to this day it remains a bit like the memory of a small square that is now lost among the streets
That's why I recommend you start getting lost because you'll find little hidden corners
They are very much worth it
Near the small square where I have been before the one in Lillatorg is the square
e one at Stortorget just like the one in Stockholm only this one is much larger
Larger than that of Stockholm it also has a section for car traffic
But anyway there's a large part that is exclusively pedestrian
It is a huge square the oldest square in all of Malmö from the 16th century from around
From around 1540 and it is used for a variety of city events
It also houses many administrative buildings such as the town hall
In the center of the square stands a equestrian statue of Charles X Gustavus of Sweden
He was a king who is very revered here in Sweden very important because he managed to recover
s part of the land of the Danes and in fact well he also wanted to conquer
Nothing that was part of Denmark succeeded
Without a doubt as I was telling you one of the most important and characteristic buildings of all the city
This square is the town hall located behind me
It is in the Gothic style built six years after the square was constructed
at it was founded although it has been quite revised over the years that is why
I have also had different architectural changes on the facade and inside
What's interesting is that during the Christmas season you saw that in Stockholm it is
The market was very decorated it was the Christmas market in the main square there and here it doesn't seem to have anything
I don't know if they put it up at some point or whatever there's the Christmas tree
But there's no Christmas market and space is there the truth is it seems like an ideal place to set it up
The church behind me here is undoubtedly one of the most important monuments in the entire city
It was the first building constructed in the city of Malmö back in the 14th century
It is the Church of Saint Peter and is in the Gothic style
It is almost entirely made of brick and it's really impressive it's very
Very pretty gives a sort of very industrial touch
There's like a gathering of people there in the middle I don't know what they're celebrating if they're having a party or something
Expressing opposition to something or another but I don't know if I'll understand much even being in Swedish
But anyway I'm going to approach
The truth is I don't know if they are protesting demonstrating against something or maybe it's the same thing
There's a neighbor who doesn't like to recycle but the truth is they seem like a pretty rough crowd
Violent so I don't want to get too close either because they seem aggressive
Connecting to the Plaza Mayor is Sordergaten Street which is the most commercial area
From the city center it is the main artery for all commercial matters there are even centers
commercial ones like the one I showed you which was in Stockholm in Lazlans tha
It's like the English cut here and it's very good because this used to be this part
What you see here is the central area which is all pedestrianized paved and cars could previously drive through
but they have already pedestrianized the whole area and it's really a pleasure that they are doing these things
Things in city centers because they make them much more pleasant for those who visit them
This is the Christmas Market and where other types of markets usually take place and it is not in the
The main square unless you cross the street in Gustavo Adolfo square and you already have another type
In the area everything is closed right now but I think this place is nice on a weekend
He probably makes a lot in the afternoons
Malmö is also known for the large number of parks it has within its boundaries
The city for example this one where I am now serves both as a park and a cemetery
There are a lot of tombstones around here but it's a pretty big park
It's changing quite a bit actually there's a castle that I'm going to go to now
But anyway there are quite a few contrasts
The truth is that the cemetery is very beautiful it's very well kept everything tha
Son like small plots where they bury all family members it's really cool
And if you keep going straight and pass the cemetery you'll reach Kungsparken which is a park
Much wider it's very large it even has channels a lot of space to run
This little park has really nice corners for example here there is a park called
Kungsparken for example this part where I am now are like small vegetable gardens
People can use it to plant their vegetables and that's a little corner here in the city right
To have your little farm like that
Seeing the Malmö castle which is the stronghold of this citadel located here on the other side
The bridge was built in the Middle Ages around the 16th century as a fortress
Surrounded and as you can see everything that is the peripheral part that is the wall
especially parts of nature that simply have a slope although this part preserves
Still the wall was used mainly as a prison and later also for minting
Danish coins and today especially there are museums in the interior part
It can be visited without any problem
