Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup made with wheat noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, flavored with soy sauce or miso, and different toppings.

Asahikawa had 8 little Ramen restaurants that are part of Hokkaido chains. My assumption is they exist just to serve the humungous bus loads of tourists making their way around Hokkaido, particularly in winter. Very yummy and huge bowls that neither of could finish even though they were 1/2 orders! Filling to the max.
