So this video is making its way around the internet.
It's a college game and we have a really deep home run hit here to left center field and
a huge bat flip right there.
You can see the batter, not really a flip, more of a throw.
And you'll get a good angle here in a second of how far this bat actually travels.
You can see here as the batter rounds third base, there's the bat right there.
So good ways away from home plate.
As the hitter crosses the plate, umpire is going to eject him right there from the game.
So he's gone, coach comes out, ends up getting in an argument, he gets tossed as well.
So the college game is definitely different than the major league game when it comes to
unsportsmanlike conduct.
We've seen players thrown out for excessive bat flips, excessive celebration.
We've seen some great bat flips at the major league level, Jose Bautista stands out.
There's been a lot of really epic bat flips.
But my question here is what are your thoughts on bat flips?
So my first thing is, should this be an ejection?
Does that warrant being thrown out of a college baseball game?
Because I think it's tough sometimes to figure out, okay, what's the difference between someone
just being really excited and someone showing up the other team?
And should you be ejected if you're showing up the other team?
And if we throw batters out for bat flips, how do we distinguish an acceptable bat flip
and an unacceptable bat flip?
And this is no doubt, again, I mean, look at where the bat lands.
That's more than just a bat flip.
That's a bat throw.
But what if the bat only landed here or what if it landed here?
So how do we decide what warrants an ejection and what doesn't?
So I think it's a really tricky subject and I'd love to hear your opinion.
And I know a lot of this is going to be subjective.
But I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
I'd love to also hear your favorite bat flip of all time.
So that's all I have.
