Artur Rubinstein, 1958 (left) & Elly Ney, pretended to be recorded in 1932 (right) in Chopin's Concerto No. 2, 1st movement...

This combination of the original Rubinstein recording of Chopin's 2nd concerto, recorded for RCA in 1958 is c"confronted" with the "Elly Ney" recording of the same work which a hoaxer has uploaded a good while ago on Youtube under her namke. Go here and listen, and don't forget to read the comments in the video and below!

That person, a German medical doctor and former pupil of Elly Ney - he has at least two LPs to his credit! - is an ardent fan of Elly Ney which is no problem at all.
But he went too far by pretending that Ney has made three recordings of Chopin works for piano & orchestra: 1st concerto, 2nd concerto and the Polonaise only from Andante spianato & Grande Polonaise brillante.
ALL of these recordings have never been played by Ney, let alone being recorded "in 1930 or 1932" in America and in Britain with Ney's husband Willem van Hoogstraten conducting the LAPO and the LSO.
This person acted equally concerning the aforementioned Polonaise. It is also the Rubinstein recording from the SAME LP (Alfred Wallenstein conducting the Symphony of the Air).
Not found up to now has been the original source for the 1st Chopin concerto with "Elly Ney". It is clear that it's NOT her. In this case that person's chruzpe is to admire since he took a boomy sounding recording of the first movment and combined it with a second and third movement sounding absolutely different. Our hoaxer is just ....well fill in the word you might find appropriate for him....
