Angelina Jolie moved into her current home
located in Los Feliz, California back in 2017
after paying nearly $25 million for it.
The actress has said that she chose the estate
so her children could be close to their father, Brad Pitt,
who lived only five minutes away
before recently selling his longtime mansion.
Angelina's home is said to be one of the world's best
and comes with quite the Hollywood pedigree,
formerly belonging to legendary filmmaker Cecile B. DeMille.
The six-bed, 10-bath spread has plenty
of stunning amenities too, such as a home gym,
a tea house, a swimming pool,
and over two acres of land full of beautiful gardens.
There are also views to the Griffith Observatory
as well as the ocean.
While it might be difficult to choose a favorite feature
of a mansion this grand, Angelina already has,
and it's something simple,
but we'll tell you what it is later in this house tour.
Angelina Jolie moved into her current Los Feliz residence
in 2017, shortly after she split from Brad Pitt.
While the mansion was a fresh start for her,
she actually chose it in part
for how close it was to her ex-husband.
She told British Vogue,
I wanted it to be close to their dad,
who was only five minutes away.
While Brad was five minutes away,
living at his longtime home base in the same neighborhood,
recently he sold that spread to move to Carmel, California.
It seems Angelina is staying put though.
Her estate, dubbed the Cecile B. DeMille estate,
is luxurious and full of old Hollywood charm.
Not to mention it cost her
the record-breaking price of $24.95 million.
As you might've guessed,
the home formerly belonged
to the legendary US filmmaker Cecile B. DeMille,
who was a pioneer in the early days of Hollywood.
You can count on A-list actress like Angelina
to want a home with history and class.
And altogether, the residence just suits her perfectly.
The mansion was built in 1913,
and most of the estate had recently
underwent a thorough restoration
before Angelina became the owner,
taking six years to complete.
In total, there's about 11,000 square feet of living space
divided between more than one structure,
as well as six beds and 10 baths.
It's really just as massive as you might imagine.
The property spans 2.1 acres of landscaped grounds
in the exclusive gated community of Lawland Park,
and also comes with stunning views
out to the Griffith Observatory and even the Pacific Ocean.
Angelina's main house on the property
spans 7,500 square feet,
and apparently it underwent the largest revamp.
Although the original style of the house was kept intact,
every modern amenity you could think of was added.
Delicate molding, arched French doors, and other touches
all play a role in keeping
the old Hollywood vibe alive here.
Intricate architecture and detailed designs
are a theme throughout Angelina's home.
The main house is built in an Italian revival villa style,
and walking in the grand foyer is wide and spacious.
Here, a curved staircase, double-height ceiling,
and dark hardwood floors greet you,
while neutral walls and glass doors brighten the space up.
Other common areas nearby include
a step-down living room with fireplace
and a mahogany-paneled formal dining room
with another fireplace.
In total, four fireplaces can be found
throughout the estate.
Angelina's formal living room is cozy,
yet ideal for entertaining,
offering plush sofas arranged around
one of the four fireplaces in the residence.
This room, like most spaces in the main floor,
opens up to the private and beautiful gardens
for an effortless indoor-outdoor flow.
The updated kitchen has plenty of space
for Angelina to enjoy meals or food prep for her six kids,
Maddox, Pax, Sahara, Shiloh, Vivian, and Knox,
also boasting its own casual dining
in a cassette against arched windows.
The kitchen was redecorated to offer white cupboards,
marble counters, and a vintage range.
Other areas for Angelina to hang out with the kids
include a spacious library
with high-ceilings built-in bookcases
and plush burgundy velvet sofas and armchairs.
While elsewhere, you'll find a family room
with adjoining office or study.
Upstairs, this level boasts the home's bedrooms
and several bathrooms,
which have kept the original art-deco style
of the property as well.
We can see Angelina's master suite here
holds another one of the gorgeous fireplaces.
In fact, the best view of the Griffith Observatory
comes from the private terrace
leading from her primary bedroom.
In addition to the main home,
there's a separate pool house on the property
with state-of-the-art gym,
as well as a tea house and self-contained guest house.
If you're interested in the Hollywood history,
DeMille added onto the main structure
gradually back in the day.
The second smaller home he added to the property
was even once occupied by Charlie Chaplin.
The grounds of Angelina's family mansion
offer rose gardens, manicured lawns, and mature trees,
which the tea house overlooks.
There's also a newer, old Hollywood-style swimming pool
with classic arched fountains on either side,
and elsewhere, a gated motor court and detached garage.
While Angelina loves her home,
with the pandemic hit in 2020,
she never expected that she'd be spending
that much time in it,
which was a challenge at times.
She said about being on lockdown at home with the kids,
I was never very good at sitting still.
Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom,
I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall,
traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere.
I didn't imagine it in that true traditional sense.
I feel like I'm lacking in all the skills
to be a traditional stay-at-home mom.
I'm managing through it
because the children are quite resilient,
and they're helping me.
But I'm not good at it at all.
I felt a little pressure moving in,
like I had snuck into where
and DeMille and Chaplin would hang out.
Then Angelina added about
what's one of her favorite aspects of the home.
I love most that there is no entertainment room,
but lots of pathways and places to walk and think.
I feel very fortunate we have that at this time.
Well, finding peace in nature to think is a simple thing,
but even this Hollywood actress prioritizes it,
and her garden is the perfect place to do so.
There are winding pathways throughout,
as well as rose bushes, jacaranda trees,
and other plants that wind down towards the standing pool.
So despite all of the amazing features
inside her multi-million dollar house,
Angelina loves her backyard most of all.
Before we wrap up this tour,
let's check out a famed residence
that Angelina and Brad Pitt owned
while they were married,
Chateau Miraval, located across the pond in France.
This purchase was an epic one for the A-list couple,
but the property was essentially a castle
and it seemed up to their standards.
Situated on a vineyard in the south of France,
this spectacular property lies more specifically
in the village of Querenz,
and Angelina and Brad scouted the land
via helicopter in 2008,
leasing it for three years before finalizing the purchase.
By 2011, the duo reportedly spent
a whopping $67 million to buy the chateau.
The property boasts 35 rooms
and an estate situated on an ancient Roman road
on 1,200 acres of land.
It even hosts an award-winning vineyard
where their own wine is produced,
Chateau Miraval Rosé.
What's more, Angelina and Brad tied the knot
on the property's chapel back in 2014,
so it's no wonder they were fated
to eventually sell the chateau.
The 17th century estate is straight out of a fairytale,
with olive groves, fountains, a private lake,
a helicopter pad, and a moat.
Well, I don't think there were helicopter pads
in the medieval ages,
but I'll say a modern fairytale.
While we haven't ever been lucky enough
to get an in-depth look inside,
the aerial shots and descriptions showcase
the sheer luxury that's sure to greet
anyone who stays here.
Despite the beauty of Chateau Miraval,
it may have been too good to be true,
even for Angelina and Brad.
It became a major point of conflict
for the ex-couple once they split up,
going back and forth in court,
deciding what to do with it.
Angelina wanted to keep the estate
because it was allegedly her idea to purchase it,
but Brad wasn't letting go that easily.
By the end of 2019,
the former flames still co-owned Chateau Miraval
and continue to produce a lot of wines.
But reportedly, this snowballed into a lawsuit
between the exes about their winery here.
Most recently, it was reported that Brad sued Angelina
for selling her stake in the Chateau Miraval winery
to a Russian businessman,
because according to Brad,
she broke their agreement to not sell their interests
in Chateau Miraval without the other's consent.
Who knows?
I do know, though, that for now,
this is gonna wrap up our Angelina Jolie house tour.
Before you go, answer this question for me.
If you had a sprawling property on 1,000 acres,
would you prefer to have a farm with animals
or a vineyard where you make your own wine?
That's an easy one for me
because I want my own petting zoo
full of rescue dogs, horses, and everything.
But let me know what you would choose
in the comments below.

Bye.
In these videos, we don't reveal any addresses,
and even though I've done a house tour of my own place,
please do not show up at any private residences
because it's not safe for anyone.
Brad Pitt has recently sold his longtime home,
which he purchased way back in 1994,
from Elvira for $1.7 million.
Located in Los Feliz,
the actor who's passionate about design and architecture
spent decades adding onto and expanding the compound,
so this time around,
he was able to get nearly $40 million for the place.
Wow.
Despite that whopping profit,
Brad had recently already put down $40 million
for the home he moved on to next.
Located in the Northern California beach town,
Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This historic property,
also known as the D.L. James House
after its original owner,
is located on a cliff's edge
and was built in 1918,
boasting a reported 3,000 square feet of space inside.
Other features of the charming property
include arched windows
made from individually selected bricks,
a library on the basement level,
a separate service wing,
and much more.
Over the years,
Brad Pitt has owned properties in Hollywood,
Spain,
New York City,
New Orleans,
and even in France,
where he once shared Chateau Miraval
with ex-Angelina Jolie.
However, the one home he always returned to
was his main residence in Los Feliz.
It was quite a surprise when it was reported then
that Brad had actually let go of his long-time home
in an off-market deal in spring 2023.
He sold the property for a whopping $39 million,
which is quite a steal,
considering he bought it from Elvira,
aka Cassandra Peterson,
back in 1994 for only $1.7 million.
Brad did spend about three decades,
though,
building up the property,
adding on neighboring estates
and working on it
to sharpen his architectural skills.
He listed the abode in January for $45 million,
due to the fact he's reportedly moved to Northern California.
Brad's original home was also called Briarcliff Manor
and was located in Los Feliz,
a trendy neighborhood in LA,
which borders the massive Griffith Park,
close to both the famed Griffith Observatory
and the Greek Theater.
Over the decades,
Brad has created a private paradise
for himself and his family
by buying up surrounding lots to his original one
and expanding it immensely.
When he bought the house back in the 90s,
Brad was hot off his new success
and it made for an interesting story in itself,
which was actually told in Elvira's autobiography.
The original home was a historic craftsman-style estate
and is no doubt stunning.
Ms. Peterson, or Elvira,
details in her book
that she had lived in the manor for some time
and was coming to love it,
not planning to move anytime soon either,
Brad first appeared in Ms. Peterson's life
while auditioning for a role
in the Elvira, Mistress of the Dark movie,
though she recalled him being far too attractive for the part.
She then got a random call from him
about her home in the Hollywood Hills
after he got her number from Nicolas Cage.
While Cassandra didn't want to sell the property anymore,
Brad was persistent
and he ended up convincing her to sell to him.
Either way, it's clear that Brad was the right man
to purchase the home
and he adored the property.
Briarcliff Manor was built back in 1910 for an oil baron,
so it's pretty vintage.
The main house boasts over 5,300 square feet of space
with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Since Brad snagged this house,
he added additional properties to the compound,
not to mention he's done a lot of work to the main house
to make it more family-friendly for his six kids
and to add privacy.
At the time of the recent sale,
Brad's compound consisted of five attached properties
with four of the buildings
having been completely remodeled since purchase,
so no wonder it was so expensive.
In total, the spread now covers 80,000 square feet of space.
Some of the smaller houses around the main house
include a home that was rebuilt over a decade after purchase,
a house for the nanny,
a building that's used as a huge kid's area,
vacant land with a discreet two-bedroom cottage,
and more.
Brad's vision was to create a free-flowing compound
that suited the original craftsman homes in the area,
dating back to 1915.
It's a dream home made for both work and play,
considering his main house also doubled as a space
for his Plan B production company,
located on one of the upper levels.
In the late 90s, a few years after his initial purchase,
Brad went on to buy house number two,
a smaller one for 380K,
located at the rear of the land.
This structure spans almost 2,500 square feet.
He then added on another house costing 475K,
which spanned just over 1,600 square feet.
Later on, when Brad and Angelina were still together,
another addition was made in 2008 for $1.28 million,
even though it was a humble 1,500 square foot abode.
The following year, the former couple spent $1.1 million
on a huge barn-like structure,
which now reportedly is a secret cave and its own bar.
This made it possible to make one building
a huge playroom for the kids,
also doubling as a living quarters
and den for the grownups.
This completely secluded compound
has a bunch of exciting stuff outside too.
There are three swimming pools
and plenty of terraces and patios to soak up the sun.
Further amenities include a tennis court
and a large skate park
that goes around a portion of the property.
Since Brad's divorce,
he added even more fun stuff for his kids.
Aerial shots reveal water slides,
swings, pool toys, a tree house,
and even a bouncy castle.
So the lucky new owner
will have a handful of amenities at their fingertips.
As for where Brad Pitt has moved,
it seems he's made his way to another historic property,
this time in Northern California,
in the beachside town of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Carmel-by-the-Sea is about 100 miles south of San Francisco,
and it had always been a favorite destination for celebrities
seeking refuge from the craziness that is Hollywood.
The late Betty White owned a beachside home in Carmel
up until her passing in 2021 and adored living here,
while Clint Eastwood even became the town's mayor back in 1986,
serving for two years,
and at the age of 92, the actor still lives here.
In terms of Brad's latest acquisition,
reports say he purchased the property in summer 2022
for $40 million
in what agents are calling
one of the most expensive home sales ever in the area.
Located in Carmel Highlands,
Brad's historic residence overlooks the ocean
and is only a stone's throw away from the beach.
Built back in 1918 out of locally sourced granite and sandstone,
the abode appears to be built into the rock,
and it's known as the D.L. James House after its first owner.
The home was originally built by architect Charles Sumner Green,
and it was last occupied for over 20 years
by late Chicago financier Joe Ritchie,
who passed away in February.
The architect, Green, was influential
in the 20th century arts and crafts movements,
and he met the first owner, businessman and writer D.L. James,
when he moved to Carmel-by-the-Sea in 1916.
Soon after, Green was hired by James
to build the home on the cliff he had purchased,
which took four years,
and also it defied traditional logic
by being constructed on this steep and difficult piece of earth.
Considering they chose to use
locally sourced sandstone and granite rather than wood,
the home does look like it's growing right out of the cliff.
The stonework on the exterior walls look like a medieval castle,
and there are arched windows as well as a tiled roof
for a Mediterranean look as well.
The home is laid out as a single-level residence,
but photos and specific details of the interiors are hard to come by.
Previous materials have indicated that Brad's new home
measures around 3,000 square feet of space
and has plenty of open-plan airy living areas.
There's also intricate carved marble
and details of Green's signature woodwork throughout the premises,
showing his arts and craft style.
The arched windows were made from bricks
that were individually selected by Green himself,
while the property boasts stunning water views.
Photos of the home taken in 1997
show the interiors about 25 years before Brad's purchase,
where we can see eye-catching archways,
lightwood doors,
and long mirrors built into the walls.
Some of the rooms also featured marble fireplaces
and other rustic furnishings.
Other highlights of the residence include a service wing for live-in help,
a basement-level library,
and an outdoor courtyard.
After James died in 1944,
his son acquired the property and lived there with his wife
until he passed away in 1988.
When Richie, the last owner, purchased the house off of his widow in 1999,
he paid $4.5 million and remained there until his death.
Richie made headlines in 2001
when he attempted to build an underground tunnel
to get to the rocky beach down below.
The idea was supposed to replace a staircase
which used to be on the property,
but it had been washed away by the tide.
At the time, the County Planning Commission greenlit the decision,
but the Coastal Commission said no to the plans somewhere along the way.
Therefore, whether or not the Richies were able to build their secret tunnel
is something only Brad Pitt will know.
All in all, considering Brad's previous property history
and his passion for architecture and design,
this seems like the perfect addition to his portfolio.
Brad Pitt once told Oprah Winfrey,
I love that architecture is this huge art piece you can be inside.
I believe it lifts your soul and affects your mindset.
Well, until Brad decides to share a glimpse into his new caramel home,
that's going to bring this house tour to a close.
But before we leave, answer me this.
If you could build a secret tunnel on your property,
where would you have it lead to?
