(Ligue 1 2022/2023): Highlights PSG - AJACCIO

Paris Saint-Germain aimed to restore the gap at the top when Ajaccio came to the capital for a last throw of the dice to save their top flight survival. Despite having drawn on the last two visits to Le Parc, only a win would avoid the Bears returning to Ligue 2 Beckette. It made a positive start but no great threat to Gigio Donnarumma. Christophe Galtier had overseen three defeats in their last four home games but with Lens just three points behind, they too couldn't slip up. And they forged ahead after 22 minutes. Brilliant finish the outside of his left boot. Fabien Ruiz benefiting as well from the movement of Ugo Eketeke. Cutting inside and has scored at least two in each of his last two league matches compared to one his first 24. Mbappe looked to be crowded out but he took so much attention. Ashraf Hakimi was left all alone. An ideal return from suspension for the Moroccan to score his fifth of this season. Ajaccio drawn to the Paris start. Suddenly 2-0. A match between the best and worst attacks in the division wasn't hard to see which was which. Kylian Mbappe in fact had scored more goals than Aja players combined this term. And the Paris number seven finally got in on the act. Didn't run quite for him the first time or the second but sometimes third time's the charm. 25 goal mark reached in Ligue 1 Uber Eats for the fourth time in his career. Francois-Joseph Solacaro just a fifth start but after a clean sheet against TFSC last week the ball just squirming under him and 3-0 Paris. Mbappe wasn't done there. A quite sensational ball from Sergio Ramos and it was another brace for the Paris superstar. Neymar enjoyed it. Mbappe scoring at least two goals in seven league matches this campaign among the top five European League players. Only Erling Halling was done better. Patiently waiting for it to come down. A sensational finish. Hakimi then drove to the byline. Deep cross ended up Demilo Pereira. Decent effort and comfortable save for Solacaro. In the end PSG players were crowding and queuing up in the area and Mbappe doing brilliantly to keep the ball alive and then what a cross that is. Netinha has been in goal scoring form. He looked for the tap in but in the end captain Marquinhos' cross deflected in for an own goal. Mohamed Youssef the unfortunate Ajaxio defender. Malacca now suffering 24 defeats in a league season. The highest tally of losses in a single season for the Corsicans. Lionel Messi was booed by sections of the support after his recent Saudi suspension. He did earn his side a free kick and then tempers frayed. Particular between Hakimi and Thomas Mangani and for the second straight game Hakimi shown a red. Third perusing to be sent off in two consecutive matches in all competitions but Thomas Mangani would soon join him. The referee's attention called to VAR. The former midfielder would soon be joining Hakimi for an early bath. Clearly given the hostilities not one they would share together. So both teams ending with 10 men for the game. Long one as Paris Saint-Germain goes six points clear the top of the table in the hunt for a historic 11th league title.
