Fulda Train Station
My sister and brother-in-law saw us off to the train
The train is in motion
Frankfurt Train Station
We are transferring here to the direct train to Paris
These are the seats we had reserved in advance
Take the seat
The total driving time is about 5 hours
This is the Gare de Paris Est
I didn't really take many street view photos
The prices at the street fruit stands are slightly higher than in New York
The guesthouse I booked is very close to the Eiffel Tower
They face each other across the river
This is the street view on Google Maps
No. 9, Van Loo Alley
The alley isn't long
You can see from one end to the other
We booked a one-bedroom apartment
The room was decorated very warmly
This is the living room
The small kitchen
This is the bathroom
There's a small bookshelf
And this is the bedroom
We're planning our itinerary for the next day
Okay
On the other side of the alley
Close to the Seine River
The Eiffel Tower is clearly visible
It's about a 20-minute walk for us to get there
Including taking photos and videos
There are many classic buildings along the river
They give a sense of dignity and elegance
I didn't think the Eiffel Tower was beautiful when I saw it in photos before
But now that I'm here, experiencing it in person
I feel differently
We've reached the bridge
See that?
The person taking a photo in the middle
They don't care about the cars rushing by on either side
I turned around and saw a boat sailing under the bridge
The Eiffel Tower was built between 1887 and 1889
The government wanted to build a temporary structure
to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution
and showcase French technology and craftsmanship
to attract visitors for the World's Fair
It has since had a profound impact on French culture
standing 324 meters tall
with a steel structure
supported by four massive pillars
located at the corners of the tower
supporting three levels of platforms and the tower itself
It has brought in huge economic benefits
and has had
a profound impact
on architecture and engineering
It is an important milestone in French history.
You can climb the tower
by elevator
but we climbed up
ourselves
This is the view from the top
You can see the whole of Paris
Our dwelling place is on the right bank of the river, at the third bridge
The bridge we crossed earlier is called the Jena Bridge
On the other side is the Trocadéro Garden
We're back on the ground again
Even though it's winter
the view is still colorful
Let's take a walk on the other side of the river
Looking back at the tower is a different view
The tower and the Arc de Triomphe are also within walking distance
about 20 minutes or so
We didn't go inside
just took a few photos nearby
End of the first day
