In this video I'm going to show you an interesting trip
I'm leaving Moldova which I've been visiting these past days
If you haven't seen it I recommend the video series I left in the comments
And now what I'm going to do is take a train that will take me to the capital of Romania to Bucharest
This is the country that's right here next to us
But the train takes 12 hours to get from Kishinev to Bucharest
So it's a night train It leaves now at 5 in the afternoon and arrives at 6 in the morning in Bucharest
So nothing else let's see how well you sleep how good the train is I'm going to show you all this in this video
I think it's going to be interesting it's going to be curious That's
why I also feel like doing it because it's going to be a different experience
Because obviously you can go by car by bus it's just 8 hours
If you fly even though it's expensive the flight between Moldova and Romania is expensive
But anyway it takes 40 minutes Obviously those are the best options
The train is the slowest way and it's not the cheapest either
So if you do it it's for the experience of living on a Soviet train
But I'll tell you about it
soon I'm now at the Kishinev station That's the train
I'm already inside the
wagon This train which has a super Soviet look as you can see
It's a super old train that takes 12 hours to get to Romania so it's pretty slow
But there's also something that happens halfway through that I'll explain to you later
As you can see everything related to the upholstery and such is very classic
There are two types of classes There is first class and second class
The ticket doesn't vary much in price I think second class is around 30 euros
The first class is 35
Then the difference is that in the second class there are about four bunks
And in the first class there are two That is only two people can be there
It's perfect I'll be here and I'll be alone in the beginning
They told me no one else is coming
I'm going to give you a quick tour of what the cabin is like since I have 12 hours of time
What I have told you the train leaves at 5:20 and arrives at 6:10 in Bucharest
So well I hope to sleep
And nothing I'm going to give you the tour
Here is one of the parts where you can lie down
I don't know if this can be made into a bed or
what Or if they'll give us blankets at night
We'll see as we go
There's a small table here
Here with this blanket with the little train and such
Here it says Moldova the curtains also say CCM Moldova
It has European outlets here
There's one on each side
The light switches that are over there
And here is the door to close
There is the hallway
I think
there's no wifi It would seem very modern but okay
And here is a small mirror both in front and back
So well that's
it The tour is ready
We're on the move
The downside of coming now in winter is that it gets dark very early
Then it's half past five and nothing is visible anymore
That means I'll have zero views of the trip
Here you can only see the reflection in the camera
I don't know if something nice will show up
As a tip if you take this train
I imagine that this will be most of the people who watch this video that
you will be eager to take it I recommend
that you have supplies for the trip
Because there's no food sold on the train there's no bar nothing at
all Then it's 12
hours you can get quite hungry
Eating more when bored as it increases hunger
Therefore I strongly recommend that you bring supplies and entertainment
I've bought a lot of
healthy food here which you can see around here
And entertainment
I brought the iPad here I have my phone I have headphones
So I have everything I need to pass the time in peace
Hold the plug and that
If I had wifi I wouldn't even tell you
but with the one that has a plug
I'll be here as long as needed
My plan is it's 5 in the afternoon
I'll be here until 9 or 10
And by that time I'll try to
go to sleep if possible And if anything happens I'
ll let you know as it happens
But I think not much is going to happen
We have had almost 3 hours of travel
We have stopped now at the border with Romania
We are exactly in the town of Ungheri
It is a village located here bordering Moldova
and Romania They just
asked us for our passport
I still have it but now we will have to give it away
We are still standing here at the
border between Moldova and Romania
It's interesting what is happening
here because what they are doing is
The train is constantly moving
forward and backward
a few
meters And that's because What a blow They
are giving the train constant blows
Very strong and all with
whistles and such I don't know if they can be heard
But that's something quite interesting
What is happening here between Moldova and Romania
And what happens here is that the train
has to change its
wheels to put it briefly
The thing is that the
track gauge is different
in Romania in Western
Europe and in Moldova
There are the train routes that go all the way
to Russia This comes from the Soviet era
In fact this was a idea of Stalin
He wanted different widths
o hinder the railway
lines to complicate
an invasion by Western
Europe into Russia
And this has lasted until today not because
of anything historical or anything like
that but because of lack of money This
is a night train that is not very popular
They don't have that many people
Now there are people but nothing
compared to the number of people moving between
the two countries
Most come by car or
bus or in any other way The train
takes 13 hours but 2 hours
is the change of wheels
We will be standing here for 2 hours But anyway it's
something very interesting That's why I
also wanted to have this experience
I wanted to experience the
wheel change And I also
think it's so unique that
I wanted to live the moment
I've been lucky because they're just changing the wheels on
the train that's stopped in front of
me So I can roughly see the process
Here you can hear a lot of
hammering I think the one across is quite far
along and ours is still waiting
It's 10:30 at night
11 minus 20
We've been traveling for about 5 hours already
Although it's good I've already told you that two hours have been spent changing tires And nothing else they'
ve already asked for our passport twice
At the Moldovan border
Now at the Romanian border
We are already on the Romanian side
They have changed the tires and so on
Well we've been stuck here for
more than 2 hours in the same
area The train will start
again soon Straight to Budapest
We will arrive at 6 in the morning
That leaves about 7-8 hours
So I'll try to sleep
as much as I can
It's almost 6 in the morning
and we've just been woken
up We arrived at 6:20 That
is 25 minutes before arriving
They are waking you up to get you to wake up And nothing else the truth
is that it hasn't woken me up
Because I've been awake
since 4:30 I've slept
terribly It's quite
uncomfortable besides
It seems bland but
this leaves your back in
bad shape And
Well besides that with the train's jostling
that makes a lot of noise
They make a lot of noise whistling and such
There's a lot of constant noise
Which is why I've slept like crap
I guess I've slept for 3-4 hours
off and on
Not continuously at all
But anyway I've said it
It's a different
experience I'm glad I did it
I would do it again Sure if I can avoid it no
So nothing else see you next time
