(Bundesliga 2022/2023): Highlights FC Köln - Bayern München

Bayern knew that only a win would do and for Dortmund's result to go their way if they were to get their hands on the Meisterschale. The challenge for the record champions was to get past Köln away from home. No easy task. In Munich, Bayern were held to a draw by the Billy Goats. In Cologne, the visitors couldn't have made a better start. Eight minutes in, Kingsley Coman struck the first blow. A flowing move and a fine finish. Bayern can be down but they never seem to be out. Thomas Müller was looking to extend his record of Bundesliga titles to 12. The serial winner did something very un-Müller-like. He could only hit the frame of the goal. This was going to be no procession. Before the end of the half, Bayern thought that they'd done their chances to become champions for the 11th time in a row. The world of good. Again, Bayern quality told. Leroy Sane put the ball past Marvin Schweber but a handball in the build-up meant it was just 1-0 at the break. At that point, Dortmund were two goals down. Bayern were on course for the Meisterschale once more. It was all going to plan until 10 minutes to play. Handball from Serge Gnabry. The third penalty they'd conceded in the last two matches meant the title could be slipping from their grip. Dejan Ljubicic made sure that his goal wouldn't just be celebrated in Cologne but in Dortmund as well. For some, the tension was just too much to take. Surely, there was no way back for Bayern. Dortmund were still losing but the champions needed another goal. Jamal Musiala's stock has been rising and rising. It simply went through the roof on 89 minutes. The biggest goal of his young career. And it was enough. On the most dramatic of days, the Mia san mia, we are who we are attitude shone through. Who they are, are champions of the Bundesliga for the 32nd time. Congratulations, Bayern München. Bundesliga winners 2022-23.
