Leylah Fernandez vs. Angela Fita Boluda | 2023 Rabat Round 1 | WTA Match Highlights

Oh, but that is some pass from Fita. Fernandez is definitely striking the ball well. Oh, well placed by Fernandez, just running. Brilliant from Fita, what wonderful defending. She has leveled up. Again, the forehand is very, very good. Set point number three, which Fernandez takes very calmly at the net. Good first set, really competitive, but Fernandez on fire right now. 6-3. She leads by a set to love. Well played, but the forehand, once Fernandez gets into it and edges her way forward. Too short from Fernandez and put away by Fita. And that just wasn't quite good enough. She holds serve, the forehand back on song. It's 5-1. Now or never, Fita to try and break Fernandez and give herself a glimmer of hope. Oh, and she does with an absolute rocket. Brilliant. Oh, lovely. Well, well, well, what's going on here? So a straight sets win then for Leila Fernandez on debut here in Rabat. 6-3, 6-4 and a nice embrace between the two at the nets. Good match, both played well. Fita actually gave Fernandez a real scare early on in set one and certainly late on in set two.
