Welcome back to the game. While the Denver Nuggets dominated the headlines today,
there are a couple more big news that broke the internet for Hoop fans.
Still with us, our NBA hype host, Mikey Reyes, and NBA Philippines All-Star Analyst, Coach Willie Wilson.
You're still here, guys.
Of course, we couldn't get rid of them. They have such a huge TF.
We're gonna focus here on two guys in particular, Chris Paul and Damian Lillard, who made waves
because we might see them in different jerseys very soon. Chris Paul, for sure.
Chris Paul, being waved, Coach, are you surprised? And of course, what did you think about
the thought process that could have happened with that decision?
All right, so just a few clarifications.
What we know right now is that they are intending to wave him.
Yes.
It has not happened yet.
Yes, and for what reason, that is still to be determined.
Are they waving him to stretch his contract?
Sign him possibly to a smaller amount?
I'm hoping that they just totally move on from that because, again,
he plays throughout the regular season, 60, 70 games.
Yeah, that's great.
But when you need him the most in the playoffs, he's a no-show.
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense also because they have new management,
new owners in the team, and they probably want new players as well.
But Mikey, what does a Chris Paul do to any team?
I mean, any team na naglalaro siya, he's always been a great factor for them.
Although, alam ko baka hindi ka masyado fan.
I think he can be the Jason kid of the Dallas Mavericks during that time.
Or the Gary Payton of the Miami Heat.
The Jason Williams of the Miami Heat.
If he can accept that role, that he could be that vet.
I like that.
And maybe, you know, have a younger point guard start.
I like that take.
Just so he's saved for the playoffs.
But if he becomes, if he moves on to that role, then maybe he can play for a while longer.
Ito, Mike, yung next player na pag-uusapan natin.
Shoot first.
Shoot only lang asin.
Shoot only.
Wherever.
And shoot from far.
Yes, wherever.
Mike, Damon Lillard, in an interview in a podcast, sinabi niya that he would likely,
he would like to end up in Miami or Brooklyn.
CJ McCollum also said he would bet that that's the last that you've seen
from Damon Lillard.
In Portland.
Best friends yung dalawang yun, Mike.
Your reactions to all of this?
Wow.
For me, he, sorry, I know we're all big fans.
But he can't win a chip.
I'm a Dame fan.
Wherever he is, he's gonna be.
You're a Portland fan.
But I just believe he can't win a chip if he was the first guy.
He's turned into a Portland guy.
He cannot win a chip if he's the first guy.
He has to be the second guy.
Do you think the same way?
Man, I hate to say it, Diego.
But no, I agree.
He just doesn't have that stuff factor.
He can't do it at his age also.
Do you feel that that's the case?
That his prime might not be there anymore?
Maybe the 60 point games medyo mag-dwindle down na.
But for sure, you can still score 30, 40.
But the 60 points?
As your main star?
No, not the main star.
Definitely not the main star.
Alright.
Merano ko ba may import na?
Wala, pwede baka pwede si Diego.
I would love that.
Pero you know, Mikey, Coach Willie, love the conversation as always.
We could talk about this all day long.
Thank you.
