The big thing in sports right now is Lionel Messi is now jumping over to enter Miami.
He's going to enter Miami, PSG, his contract's over.
They're just trying to figure out how to pay the guy.
So-
How old is he?
How old is he now?
Uh, okay.
That's a David Beckham type move.
You remember when David Beckham had got a bit older and he was kind of at an age where
he could retire?
He went to LA Galaxy?
Yeah, he was 38.
Rain Rooney came over, 37.
35.
I mean, Lionel Messi right now is still-
He could still do a few more seasons.
He just won the World Cup.
Yeah.
I mean, like, essentially, he's the biggest name in sports right now.
He could easily go play for PSG, any top brand in Europe for soccer, and be starting forward.
No problem.
Beckham was already done.
He was riding the bench when he came to America.
Thierry Henry, when he came over from France, like, he was riding the bench too.
So this is a bigger deal for Messi.
The tickets right now for his perspective first game in Inter-Miami in July are more
expensive than the NBA Finals tickets.
Wow.
Same town.
And we don't even like soccer in America.
Yeah.
That's what we say.
We just don't have the good players.
So what's the point in watching it?
I want to go see the GOAT of soccer play.
David Beckham actually owns the Miami team.
Part of it.
And he's the chairman.
Yeah.
No.
He's a good businessman.
I mean, look at what he did with the LA Galaxy and everything.
So he knows his stuff.
It's just a matter of seeing what happens with Messi.
I'm pretty sure Barco is trying to get him back.
But they couldn't because they just couldn't come up with the money.
But what I was trying to get at is Messi's thing right now is like, they're talking about
giving him part of the TV deal.
So they're talking about letting him be part of the sponsorships that come in directly.
Yeah.
Giving him a percentage of revenue.
If they do that, European soccer is done.
Well, I wouldn't say it's done, but yeah, it's well, I mean, if you if you're somebody
like Mbappe and you're like, hey, come play with come play in the U.S. and we're going
to give you a percentage of the advertising deals just regionally.
Let's just say regionally, like he goes and plays in for California.
It's going to blow his salary out of the water.
That's true.
But you need to get the fans.
You need excited fans.
That's the thing, because it could it could kind of backfire on them.
They pay all this money, but you don't have the fans to back it up because we've already
got like baseball and basketball and football.
It's commission, right?
So whatever, whatever we do get, you'll get a piece of.
So it's not like you're losing.
It's a win win for everybody.
Yeah.
So I can if this deal actually happens, we're coming off the World Cup.
It's always the hottest in America.
The next season after World Cup, it's how it works.
It's always like that every time.
And now we're taking the biggest and brightest star of the World Cup and we're putting them
in America, where is the most disposable income for any country in the world?
So I'm going to see him.
I like it.
Are you going to go?
Oh, for sure.
The greatest soccer player of all time.
It's really interesting.
I mean, I'm kind of excited for it because I think it's going to put put American NLS
soccer over the top.
