Mildred Fragante has worked tirelessly in her career to raise awareness of the abuse of women and children. She also knows first-hand how powerful storytelling can help abuse survivors reclaim their lives and thrive. With this knowledge and the funds from a Rotary global grant, Fragante renovated a community shelter for abused girls in 2018. She's also founded Aurora, a resource and education program that empowers girls, and Reconnect, which pairs journalists and authors with survivors of abuse so that the writers can better tell these stories.
